I am getting Fallout 3 pretty soon, so I have been orienting myself with the game from this website.(it has a lot of information) And I figured I want to be a Sniper/Stealthy kind've guy so what Kindve of skills and perks should I have. What guns and armour also. I've been thinking about the armour and thought about the ranger or recon which one is better. - It's not that hard to know what perks you need, really. The descriptions are pretty good, and Silent Running is a level 20 perk, by which point I'm sure you'll have figured it out. One important thing to remember is that weight worn affects sneaking, so Power Armor will hurt that. The Ranger Battle Armor is the best for a stealth/speed character (although I've recently switched to T-51b 'cause... well, Fallout & Power Armor, heh). You will probably go with Recon armor and then upgrade to the Ranger at some point. Remember to do the optional objective for Moria's Miralurk quest! That involves sneaking in without killing anything. Subsequently, the best way to do this is to kill them before accepting the quest. This nets you the Shady Hat, which is +1 PER and +5 Sneak, handy at the beginning. --DarkJeff 16:10, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
- Re - the Wasteland Survival Guide and mirelurks, if you want a quick in-and-out, enter from the utility door on the south side of the Anchorage War Memorial. Use a single Stealth Boy to proceed down the tunnel and to the right, and plant the observer in the first spawning pod you see. There are several Mirelurks nearby, but avoidable. - Okay, well, seeing as how I wrote the dart gun and sneak attack pages I suppose I should contribute to this topic. As far as being a stealthy sniper, that's easy, hide and shoot targets at long-range, even with 5 skill you can manage these kinds of sneak attack criticals. As far as being a true stealth warrior that can stalk through buildings silently eliminating one enemy after the next - that's not going to happen until lvl 12 with the Silent Running perk. In fallout 3, silent running is literally the end-all and be-all of hidden warfare. So, if the only close-range sneaking you manage before then is while using a Stealth Boy, don't feel bad, you aren't doing anything wrong. As far as armor goes, use combat armor until you're strong enough to quest for ranger battle armor. And make getting ledoux's hockey mask an early priority, its +25 AP. As for weapons, build yourself a dart gun and try to get your hands on the two best scoped weapons in the game; the reservist's rifle, and the blackhawk. - Where to get combat armor? Crow the wandering armor merchant is a good bet, you can find him waiting outside of the Megaton city gate. Want to keep playing: Easy, load a save from before the final quest. Good early ranged weapon? You can steal a hunting rifle from Lucas Simms house in Megaton (you can pickpocket the key, its easy). There's also a sniper rifle in a hollowed out rock around the back side of Megaton's city-wall, its free but its very difficult to repair, or get .308 ammo early in the game. --AshRandom 16:46, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
- Moria actually sells Combat Armor fairly early too. If you're strictly Good, by the time you're level 4 Talon Company Mercs start coming after you (in my experience, anyhow) so there's armor right there. Personally, I let Lucas get killed and nabbed his rifle, but I never really needed that. If you go to Tenpenny Tower with decent speech, you can get a Chinese Assault Rifle handed to you. If you fail I think you get a 10mm SMG instead. Could be a rough journey there though. --DarkJeff 16:56, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

- Moria's supply shop is quite easy to spot once you walk into Megaton City, its the building with what looks like a giant metal barrel perched on top of it. And - not to sound unhelpful, but, there's something to be said about exploring the cities and landscapes for yourself. As far as item costs go, click the word when you see it highlighted, it will take you to its item page, where you can see its max value. - Heh, trust us, when you play you'll know Moria. She's one of the major quest givers, with a fairly involved 9-part quest that'll take you everywhere, and your primary shopkeeper until you leave Megaton (the first populated town you'll hit, most likely). She gives you free armor if you're nice when you first meet her (maybe even if you're not?), which has a nice skill bonus for starting out with. It's also decent armor. Generally I stick to that until I can easily afford Leather armor or Combat armor, skipping Leather if possible. As far as I know the suit she gives you can't be repaired, so when it wears down it's about the right time to upgrade. --DarkJeff 16:11, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
