The New Amended Espionage Act is an act of Congress, created to supersede the Espionage Act of 1917 in Title 50 of the United States Code. It was designed to give the United States government and its respective law enforcement agencies the tools needed to prevent interference with military operations, and curtail support of enemy powers on American soil. Simply put, they were given the power to deal with any threat towards national security.
