We were here before the fall....

No Mutants Allowed is the oldest still-functioning Fallout website. It was founded in 1997 by Miroslav. It can be found at http://www.nma-fallout.com. Aside from the English version, the site is also available in French, German, Polish, Russian and Spanish.

Background[]

The site once hosted walkthroughs. It still has photo galleries, and other assorted info for the first two games in the series: Fallout and Fallout 2, as well as the tactical spin-off Fallout Tactics. NMA also hosts modifications for the three aforementioned Fallout games, placing a spotlight on any particularly good ones.

The site also hosts leaked information about Van Buren, the canceled Fallout 3 project by Black Isle Studios, including the design documents, screenshots from the Van Buren tech demo and tech demo itself. While the console shooter Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel was covered in site news during its development, no other information about the game can be found on the site. The site also hosts information regarding news on later installments, albeit less frequently.

Recent years[]

Around the 2010s, the site began garnering a reputation for having members who generally enjoy the classic Fallout games, as well as Fallout: New Vegas, while criticizing Bethesda's titles.

In contrast to the LGBT representation of the series, various members are also known to openly use homophobic/racial slurs. One prominent member of the forum who has been a member since 2005 and over 30,000 posts also openly displays a swastika under their username.

Behind the scenes[]

  • Both Fallout Tactics and Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel include in-game "No Mutants Allowed" graffiti in reference to this site. Roshambo, a former admin, was also featured as a character in Tactics.
  • The credits for Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel mentions "Thanks for the laughs: www.duckandcover.net, www.nma-fallout.com". These fansites were known for heavily criticizing the game, even before it launched.
