Patrick Anthony McCarran (August 8, 1876 – September 28, 1954) was an American politician.

Background

A Democratic senator from Nevada, serving from 1933 until 1954, McCarran was well known for his staunch anticommunism rhetoric, and became the namesake of McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, which would later become a New California Republic military command center, dubbed Camp McCarran.
