Power armor can be extensively modified in Fallout 4, with each of the six components having three distinct slots that can be modified.

Helmet[edit | edit source]

Rad scrubbers Removes radiation from water when drinking. Science! 2 Raider and above
Sensor array +2 Perception Science! 3 Raider and above
Targeting HUD Visor highlights living targets. Science! 3 Raider and above

Recon sensors Sighted aiming marks enemies with a compass pip. Science! 2 T-45 and above
VATS matrix overlay Increases hit chance in VATS. Science! 2 T-45 and above

Kinetic dynamo Taking damage restores AP. Science! 4 Raider and above
Medic pump Detects hits during combat and automatically uses a stimpak when health is low. Science! 4 Raider and above
Reactive plates Reflects 50% of melee damage back on the attacker. Armorer 4 Raider and above
Tesla coils Deals Energy damage to nearby enemies. Science! 3 Raider and above
Stealth Boy Activates stealth field when crouched. Science! 4 T-45 and above
Jetpack Enables jet-assisted boost while jumping. Science! 4

Every power armor except for the raider power armor can accept paint modifications.
