The ProSnap Deluxe camera is a "weapon" in Fallout 76. Introduced in the Wild Appalachia series of content patches, the camera was originally slated for release on April 9, 2019 in patch 1.1.2.7 but was pushed back to April 23, 2019 with patch patch 1.1.3.11.

Background

Main article: Photo camera

A powerful compact rangefinder camera, the ProSnap Deluxe was manufactured for the discerning photographer, capable of accepting a variety of lenses for use in the field. These included 105mm and 200mm lenses, as well as ones offering more specialized functionality: Night vision and targeting lenses. A special feature of the ProSnap is telling the user of subjects in frame, from objects, to locations, and even animals or people.[1]

Characteristics

The ProSnap Deluxe is an in-game alternative to the screenshot tool, allowing players to take pictures of various landmarks (see Bucket List for details).

Behind the scenes

  • In pre-release articles and within the game's files before the patch that introduced it, the ProSnap Deluxe was referred to as the "SnapMatic! Camera". The company name "SnapMatic!" can even be seen on camera model in a pre-release screenshot (see gallery). Sometime between updates, however, the texture was changed to include ProSnap as the company.
