Hi.
My character is (was ?) perfectly OK with the NCR faction. I rescued a dude in a cave, I help the doc fixin' injured soldiers and findin' the rascal who was stealing meds, I collected tags, I brought them supplies and gave radiomen new codes.
Perfectly cool with them !
I visited the different rangers stations and went to the Ranger Station Charlie (SW of Novac)
On my way, like 300 meters before the station, I encountered a bunch of Legion centurion-like dude who tried to kill me.
I killed 'em, loot their stuff (and repaired their armours so I can have less of them in better shape instead of a lot in a crap state).
I resumed my walk to the ranger station and boom: the ranger on duty (who was sleeping) woke up and fire at me. First I thought it was a rogue NCR dude. I reloaded (sadly just after I looted and repaired Legion stuff) and fast travelled to Forlorn camp.
Same. "Hey you ! <boom>"
No reason.
Or, after what I read here and on the web, it seems it's because of me reparing the Legion armours and in the process put them on me. Making me look superbad for NCR.
So I reloaded again my savegame, put a NCR suit on me and approched again the Charlie ranger. Boom again.
I redid the same things, but went back to Forlorn: no prob. I even brought some tags to the dude collecting them.
"Wew ! Everything is OK again. Let's go back to Charlie"
Boom again.
Rereload + fast travel to another Ranger station: boom.
Boom everywhere (didn't tried Helios though) except at the main camp Forlorn.
What's happenning ?!

- Hey, a couple of questions to start: in your Pip-Boy, what does it say your Reputation is with the NCR? And have you tried going to someplace NCR-free (Novac for example, or I do the Followers Safehouse because I'm in Hardcore and they've got free drinks and a restocking fridge) and spent three days there waiting/sleeping to see if it resets their aggression? I've tested the reset myself while trying to steal La Longue Carabine and I can confirm that with a good reputation and you in non-faction armor they will forgive you if you haven't actually killed anybody.
- Also, is it just Ranger Stations, or are places like McCarren and the Mojave Outpost involved as well? I know you mentioned Forlorn Hope is fine and you haven't tried Helios, but that leaves a lot of other NCR encampments. Aristatide (talk) 22:14, February 1, 2014 (UTC)
- Aristatide: My PipBoy says I'm neutral in the eyes of NCR. Seems odd after what I've done for us. In genral, my character has a Jesus status regarding karmas :)
- I tried McCarran and Mojave outpost: same. Shoot on sight.
- At Helios, I can approach them but when i'm close very close, they start shooting at me.
- I'm gonna try the "Keep quiet and sleep for a few days" technique.
