Third-Person Discussion

Hi. I've opened up a forum to discuss a proposal to deal with our first-person-in-articles issue. Can you please give it a glance and share any feedback. Thanks 69.l25 (talk) 04:40, February 12, 2014 (UTC)

If people start editing on the same page just after I did, I'm checking it. Force of habit. Even admins... Jspoel Speech Jspoel 18:25, March 6, 2014 (UTC)

I knew that. Things are good over here, thanks. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 18:31, March 6, 2014 (UTC)

Request for recommendation

I would like you, User:Tocinoman and User:Skire to take a look at a recent edit made by ToCxHawK on his user page. It seems that after another user was banned from chat (and later site-blocked), ToCxHawK posted a quote of that user's comment, the one the other user was banned for, on his user page (which he later removed). Frankly, to me, posting that comment in any form, quoting someone else or not, is very disturbing, and I feel a violation of policy meriting administrative action. I understand that we are required to assume good faith, so I asked him on his talk page to explain the reasoning behind posting the offensive quoted comment. His reply to me can be summed up as "I found it hilarious". I, personally, can find humor in someone saying what the quoted user said. His explanation, to me, does not show he posted the objectionable content in error or any other way that can be termed "good faith". It appears to me that he either agrees with the sentiment, or, more probably, that he enjoys the offensive comment so much that he choose to re-post it as a quote on his user page.

If it were left up to me, he would be blocked for this edit. But understanding that I am one of the main targets of the comment he quoted, I am not comfortable doing that. I would prefer that you three examine this and return a recommendation to me for action. Please, in concert with the others, examine this and let me know of your decision, whatever that may be, as soon as you find possible. The Gunny  UserGunny chevrons 01:11, March 8, 2014 (UTC)
