Note that at this point SaintPain had left the chat by himself and normal chat could resume, but clearly you were not satisfied with a mere kick and proceeded to ban after the fact, which is completely unnecessary. And finally, this chat ban is an indefinite one, which is ridiculous. What we are considering here is not worthy of a kick or chat ban, much less an indefinite chat ban. Even if you consider it ban-worthy (and it being his fourth offence), nowhere does it dictate it must be an indefinite chat ban. Being a chat moderator (and an awfully good one at that), I expect you to have better judgement and follow and execute policies in their spirit and not to the letter.

Moreover, I have yet heard any decent arguments regarding the motives behind SaintPain's indefinite chat ban. What I have heard is a lot of comments only expressing agreement without backing, and because SaintPain was being "disruptive", which is a purely subjective term that is not obvious or severe enough to call for a ban in this case. And does a single administrator agree to this? Please provide justification (beyond the argumentum ad populum) to this ban or I will consider its shortening or removal after discussion with other admins and/or bureaucrats. --SigmaDelta54 (talk) 00:36, August 19, 2012 (UTC)

So much can get distorted in the mix of replies. Sometimes it can be hard to see who wrote what. As far as I know neither of us control what the game designers do, "yet", { I can dream ~;}~ Still we do enjoy expressing our opinions.

It is possible to look to the future and rework how the past was presented.

15 years ago game technology was far more limited. That's just a fact.

Designers could remake the game today still honoring what is now canon but they could also add alternate story lines that involve joining the Enclave, the Great Khans or other wise maybe just turning on the BOS. Countless options..

Just because there could have been alternate paths dose dose not mean cannon must be changed it simply means the games could be revisited with more player role play options and I would certainly hope far better graphics.

It would be a win win for everyone. The original story line would be more acceptable to folks who never thought of playing one and two due to low graphic quality. Like wise the game designers could expand their tool box add content, such as new items, perks, weather/seasonal effects, more side quests all the while expanding the franchises popularity and there by their profit margin.

The nostalgia of some remakes would fuel the interest and funding for even better tools to be used in future games.

My point is, Updating old games need not take away from what has been done it the past or future games. I believe using the tools of today would aid in the retelling of old stories and in fact draw more attention to the Fallout roots while simultaneously helping to fund games currently in production and inspire next generation Fallout games. It's all a Win Win.

Theme Discussion

If I could even get just one more person to submit a theme choice, I would be satisfied enough to move the entire process into the voting stages. The problem right now is that most of the theme choices are from me, and they're all generally the same feel, from what I've gathered. We have Gunny's also, but I seem to re-call him saying that he's not yet finished. As for Mystery, he provided a couple good ones, but with the recent Wikia update, one of his themes no longer fills the page properly. While I get your point about being the oldest active patroller, I can't really get behind the adminship idea still. What's wrong with SigmaDelta54? Beats Jspoelstra any day :) Who told you you'd forfeit your Savior of the Damned progress? Are you sure about that? I thought that while the request was running, you still would be able to edit with your old accountname. Otherwise ask Energy X (had a name change) or Wikia about the procedure and drawbacks of the name change to be certain. And if you can't use your account for 24 hours, you can always sit it out and then change. 130 days left or so? Not that long. Edit On GRA Laser Pistol

Hey thanks for fixing my edit with the links in the description. :3 I wanted to add in that only GRA weapons can be modded by GRA mods. I had a difficult time in-game buying a lot of those GRA mods for an ordinary laser pistol and finding out that the mods don't appear in the modding screen for ordinary weapons. I wanted to input that so other people wouldn't have trouble with it. :3

Dwellersims

Hey Danny, I wouldn't make too much of what Dwellersims did with the interwiki links. He probably thought he did good with it, and tried to copy what I did with the Honest Hearts quests interwiki links. In his inexperience he probably didn't check them for existence. About that anon block yesterday for adding that comment on Limmie's page; it reminded me of that Russian that also added a similar sort of comment on her talkpage half a year ago (remember?). Although it can be considered discriminating/harrassing in itself, I didn't think he really meant it to be that way and considered it a (semi-)normal question in his own mind, sort of distorted perception of todays reality. To be honest, sort of made me smile when I read it. It wasn't a malicious remark in my judgment anyways. Unfortunately, things got out of hand after his block, and now the block is justifiable. RE: Related Perks on Divide epilogue perks

Yo Siggy, just saw the history regarding the user User:DarknessCalling and the adding of related perks to the perks: Scourge of the East, Divide Survivor, Dead Man's Burden and The Bear-Slayer's respectful pages.

I'll have you know that I did not see that it wasn't standard until after I had re-added them back onto The Bear-Slayer's page and am letting you know now to revert all of them so that you might get the edits from this in making the wiki better off with it.

Hello there. The Energy Weapons page (under the Fallout 3 heading) lists both the Cryolator and the Viper magnetic cannon as weapons affected by the skill. From my experience the Cryolator is unusable cut content as only the texture for the weapon exists, and the cannon was only mentioned in the Museum of Technology, yet the section acts as if they are useable and available. If i wanted to remove both the Cryolator and the cannon from the "Fallout 3 energy weapons skill weapons" category, how would i go about that?Leea (talk) 17:37, October 24, 2012 (UTC)

Alright, so strategy is not allowed at all? Even if it is simply a strategy? If so, how is "The Sleepytyme is also considered an improved holdout weapon, making it the only automatic holdout weapon. This makes it a natural choice when working on the GRA challenge "Nyah! See?", and is the only firearm that can be used for this challenge without turning all of the casino guards hostile." (Taken directly from Sleepytyme (GRA) page) not considered a strategy? It's helpful to know that one can do that. (Using Sleepytyme for the Nyah! See? challenge)

Just one more question... What was the problem with "Related Perks"? Those were my edits, and I didn't think "Related Perks" looked all that wrong. (For Scourge of the East, Divide Survivor, The Bear-Slayer, Dead Man's Burden) Just curious. I only added them there because I could not, for the life of me, find the perk for each ending. I had to go to the perks page, down to Lonesome Road (add-on), and find which perks were for the endings. Thanks.

He has refused to talk to me, as I even sent him a message over his talk-page a day ago. This is a study I know very well, as I consider myself sort of a violin snob who has studied the subject of Stradivarius violins for quite some time. (As well as hearing one in person on one occasion.) This anon doesn't know what in the hell he's talking about, and is merely digging up the first search results he can find over the matter. (And not one link he has provided is backed up by a reliable source, all of them merely working off of guesswork.) GarouxBloodline

Well, it might have been the wrong way to go about matters, but I didn't feel like I needed to give him a true chance after he called my information bullshit and then added spam into the page linking to a page that was full of speculation and false truths. And no... unfortunately not. I learned to love their haunting sound from my Nana, who used to play that to me when I was younger. (She was also the person who first got me interested in the piano, although I eventually lost interest with that.) I've always wanted to buy one for myself and learn how to play, but I've just never had the time nor the money to do so. GarouxBloodline

It's a great shame, and I feel less not learning at a younger age. I just hope I'll be able to provide justice for getting myself a violin after never laying a finger on one as of yet. :) As for the piano, I sort of burnt myself out around the time I first joined band in middle school. I was already learning how to play the alto clarinet and saxophone, and I was made to practice with those and the piano on a daily basis. (Along with practicing for marching band as well, I hardly had a social life during this time period.) By the time I got into high school, I had dropped everything but the alto clarinet. :P GarouxBloodline

Don't worry about missing Savior of the Damned too much. I was a bit pissed off when I missed it by a day too, but after a while it felt like a burden had been lifted from my shoulders. I wasn't obligated to make any more edits that I didn't really feel like making, all for an ultimately insignificant achievement. In the end, it turned out OK. Is there a reason this annon has not been banned? I trust your judgment, but if he had an account he would be banned for achievement boosting. Not only that, but the way he is changing everything doesn't sound natural. I'm not in favor of making a project changing all those appearances sections, you know. Those are hundreds of pages to be checked. I'd rather it all just be left as it is. Only appears or appears only, doesn't make that much difference. Though I prefer only appears. Those appearances should be left alone and just be changed if by concidence another edit is needed on the page. Then it can be changed. There are edits to be made that have more value I'd think. I think about 70% is only appears and 20% is appears only. Some are still just "appears" without "only" anywhere. Change it to "only appears" where it is different then.
