Sasha is a Siberian Husky dog in 2161.

Background[]

Sasha can be seen waiting patiently for her master behind the Cathedral while the player is inside.

Many years later, a generic drug addicts in The Den may bark: "Sasha? Where are you Sasha?"[1]

Appearances[]

Sasha appears only in Fallout and is mentioned in the Fallout Bible.

Behind the scenes[]

According to David Hendee:

Sasha is the name of one of Interplay's old producers, Vince Denardo. He did not work on Fallout 1 or 2. It was a bit of tradition to have his dog somewhere in an Interplay game, in some shape or form. Sasha is normally placed in the special thanks section or some other place in most of our older manuals.

According to Chris Taylor:

Speaking of Vince, we liked him so much we placed his dog Sasha in the game. We tried to put her somewhere players could see but not get to, because we were afraid they'd try to kill it. We picked the Military Base... which gets nuked. Oops!

According to Tim Cain:

First one want to talk about is an Easter egg in Fallout. There was a dog that hung out behind the cathedral and this dog was thrown in as an homage to a producer at interplay Vince DeNardo who would frequently bring his dog Sasha to work. I love dogs and Sasha was awesome. I think Chris Taylor put Sasha in, I don't know, but I thought it was really cool that the dog made it into the game, and then, I think in Fallout 2, there's somebody wandering around calling out for Sasha, which is like a throwback to this Easter egg in Fallout 1, so that was fun.[2]
