The Yellow Pages is an item set to appear in the canceled Fallout movie.[1][2]

Background

In the Fallout film treatment, the recon team were told to keep an eye out for the Yellow Pages as a source of information on obtaining a new water chip, working with the assumption that all computers are down above ground.[3]

It is key in causing Techy's death, as he was baited by the Scavengers with a Yellow Pages and a phone. Working on the assumption he could use them in conjunction and simply order a new water chip over the phone, he rushed to the phone booth. He was then shot through the head, killing him instantly.[4]

The Lead Scavenger had used this trick before, and comments that Vault Dwellers always fall for it.[5]

Characteristics

The Yellow Pages is a large, yellow phone directory, found before the war. They were produced by various pre-war companies in the USA and had commercial listings, unlike the White Pages, which had non-commercial listings.[6]

Appearances

The Yellow Pages was set to appear in the canceled Fallout film by Interplay Films.

Behind the scenes

  • As AT&T did not copyright the logo or name in the US, unlike in other countries like Canada, the UK and Australia, the Yellow Pages in the US was not produced by just one company, and they were published by many companies throughout the nation.[7]
  • In the United States, the predominant yellow pages are DEX One's DEX, the AT&T Real Yellow Pages, Yellowbook, and the Verizon Superpages.[8] It is not know which of these, if any, the film would have featured.
