Fallout 1 and 2 Quotations Project

This article is within the scope of the Fallout 1 and 2 Quotations Project. This project is dedicated to adding quotations to every Fallout and Fallout 2 page currently lacking one. For participation, please check the project page.

 

This is the home page of a Fallout Wiki project. A project is a collaboration of editors improving articles and other content related to a particular subject. For more information, see Fallout Wiki:Projects.

The Fallout 1 and 2 Quotations Project is a project which aims to add page-top quotations to all Fallout and Fallout 2 characters/locations/quests/factions articles. Nothing like a good quote in the beginning of the article to stylise it and make the wiki more conceptual and attractive. :-D

Scope

• Adding quotations from dialogues, in-game descriptions or the narrator's words to Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 articles that lack them.
• Replacing any quotation already existent that may seem silly or not conceptual/broad enough on the subject of the article. Do not forget to add a comment on the Talk section below when doing so, so that all the project members can agree with the change decision.
• Correcting any quotes that do not fit the Guidelines shown below.
• Remember that the articles this project will be working on are only the ones on characters, locations, quests and factions. Pages about weapons, items and the like are not under the project scope. However, feel free to do so if you find an interesting quote for them.
• Also, cut content is not within the scope of this project. Some cut characters, locations, quests or factions sometimes have little or no information that can help us, and usually no dialogue records to work with.

Guidelines

• If there is an interesting and smart quote that is already in the Notable Quotes section, feel free to move it to the top, making it more appreciable for the wiki readers/users.
• Do not forget to cite the source/character that used that line, unless the line is used by the character the page is about. For example: in Frank Horrigan's page, the page-top quote was taken from Horrigan himself, so there is no need for a reference below the line. (the only exception is a case that is according to the guideline below).
• On the other hand, if the character/faction appears in more than one title of the Fallout series, make sure to specify the game it was taken from. For example: Marcus is a character featured in both Fallout 2 and Fallout New Vegas. If any article receives a quote from him, specify the game which it is from.

Talk

This section is designed for pointing important changes that need consensus between the Project members (like the ones described in the second point on the Scope section), or for any doubt.

Instructions

In the "Checked for quote" column, as you check articles, please mark one of the following:

• Article OK: If the page already has existing quote(s) of good quality following wiki quote guidelines;
• Quote needed: If the page does not have an existing quote, or you deem the existing quote of poor quality;

and sign your name (only three ~'s).

In the "Quote(s) added" column, once you add good quality quote(s) following wiki quote guidelines, please mark {{yes}}, and sign your name (only three ~'s).

In the "Peer review" column, once good quality quote(s) have been added, please mark one of the following:

• Review needed: Mark this to signify that the content is complete and the page is ready for peer review;
• {{yes}}: Once the added content is reviewed for good quality, adherence to wiki quote guidelines and is properly formatted. Peer review must be completed by an editor other than editors who added new content;

and sign your name (only three ~'s).

In the "Complete" column, once the peer review is complete, please mark {{yes}}, and sign your name (only three ~'s).
