Hmm, I'm still a bit iffy. It's always been common-knowledge that New Reno has technically been run by the crime families, with the Van Graffs slowly losing their foothold over the city with the increasing numbers of the NCR. But what I'm looking for is proof that New Reno is independent from the NCR itself. Because I highly doubt that the NCR would allow a city within their own borders to remain independent when they won't even allow their neighbors or the Mojave to remain independent. Protectron

Hey Theo, I noticed today that we don't have a section on the Protectron (Fallout 3) page for the ones you see in the Pitt, and given that you have the GECK and would be able to figure out the values for the table as well as provide the image for it, if you would make the section. Actually, that looks just about perfect. Way to get it on the first attempt! ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 22:47, February 18, 2013 (UTC)

Even better of a solution. Better to teach me to fish for myself and all. ;) Thanks again for all of your help! ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 17:43, February 20, 2013 (UTC)
It's best I learn how to do these things myself. As long as I have an example to work off of, I should be fine. :) And yeah... I forgot about that. It drives me crazy when I go to other wikis and I no longer have my Admin tools. :') ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 23:34, February 20, 2013 (UTC)

300 Pieces of Silver

Thanks for doing that. Figured I'd restore those too along with the article-page until I figured out what to replace them with. Went ahead and deleted them again. It's really odd to me that they'd merge that unmarked quest with one of the main quests. They do tie in with each other, but I think it will be better this way with its own article-page. Re:History

A direct mention is a direct mention, no matter how obscure ;) Without Dickens' existence, that note on the chalkboard wouldn't exist, thus making him in a way essential to the Fallout world as it is. (This was GuardianOfTheWastes' original criterion.) Would you be interested in creating such a page? --Skire (talk) 22:35, February 21, 2013 (UTC)

No problem. I'll add it to my to-do list. Good job with noticing that, as I surely would never have acknowledged its existence =P --Skire (talk) 22:53, February 21, 2013 (UTC)

Hey, could you check the image we have for the construction drone for OWB, I was just in there and killed some and they looked like yellow protectrons, not like the ones from The Pitt. Richie9999 (talk) 23:23, February 24, 2013 (UTC)

Looks good to me. Js asked me about the space the template was adding before new headers. It looks like it's still there, any chance you can take a look at that too? You're much better at CSS than I am. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 23:26, February 24, 2013 (UTC)

Fire Geckos GECK Check

Hey, another question for you, could you check and see what Fire Geckos are classed as in FNV (abomination, etc.), for any hints as to why they are unaffected by Animal Friend? Thanks! Richie9999 (talk) 00:47, February 25, 2013 (UTC)

Near the wind farm, you say? Well that might help to explain why I have three friendly fire geckos over there. Richie9999 (talk) 02:33, February 25, 2013 (UTC)
So are the rest abominations? Richie9999 (talk) 02:43, February 25, 2013 (UTC)
To throw in some more, the Abominable and Flare gun (Lonesome Road) pages currently state that the Fire Geckos are abominations, but I'm not quite sure that this is correct. Great Mara (talk) 05:29, February 25, 2013 (UTC)
Sorry, guys, I misled you. I should've dig deeper. Ok,here's the deal: All fire geckos are "Mutated Animal"-s in the GECK. Conclusion: They are mutated animals, not affected by the Animal friend.
PS: Just in case: The night stalkers are "Abomination"-s and are affected by the Animal friend. Animal friend is a faction based perk, it doesn't care about the type of creature. --Theodorico (talk) 13:59, February 25, 2013 (UTC)

I'm gonna be honest Theo, I feel like I'm creating a lot of GECK checking work for you, and I'm sorry for that, thanks for what you've done thus far though. i appreciate the response.. you say its a copy of whats already there? well i have just re-read the whole page and i can't see anything about 400 caps... there was yesterday, because i put it up when it happened, but it was deleted afterwards, so i don't know what happened, i thought the edits went up straight away, do they take a while to show? if i have mis-read the page i apologise, but it does seem a bit weird...

ADB

Hello, Theo. This is a message that I will be circulating through Nukapedia's Sysops. A while back I had created a more suitable version of the Administrators' Discussion Board as an attempt to help regulate important matters that require immediate attention from the veteran users around Nukapedia. With Fallout 4 on the horizon, I would like to begin making this feature more widely embraced, so that we all are more comfortable and familiar with using it for when the time comes around that we'll need to look towards it the most. What I would like to see is for an example to be set for where certain matters should be discussed within our community, as well as creating an environment where users will know that their issues will be addressed in a timely and fair manner. What does this mean, exactly?

  • Appropriate topics should be addressed within the ADB instead of the normal fora space. Not only is the ADB a general area to condense important topics, but it is also always kept at the top for easy access. (As well as having a place within the Community Messages.)
  • All Administrators, Moderators, Patrollers, and Bureaucrats should make it a priority to check through the ADB at least once every few days or so. This is the duty of mantling the extra tools, after all, and is not too much to ask for.
  • The ADB should make an appearance within new user's welcome message.
  • If a topic within the fora has been made that is of significant importance and affects the wiki as a whole, these topics should be moved into the ADB.
    • It is my hope that these requirements will help our community become more familiar with where they should go to have their grievances and ideas properly heard. Right now, the ADB has been largely ignored because the Sysops have also largely ignored it, and this is unacceptable at times when important matters such as this one are mostly by-passed except for a couple of people. With the chaos that is soon to come with the new title(s), all I am asking is for a bit of responsibility in making sure that we all recognize issues and ideas as they come up, and making sure that we do our parts in seeing them through. Thank you for reading, and I would greatly appreciate some feed-back. Once a general consensus has been reached, possible changes will be taken care of.

Sound GECK Check

Hey Theo, could you check in on something for me, if you're able, the sounds for the Sniper rifle (Fallout 3), Sniper rifle (Fallout: New Vegas), and their unique variants. I was just playing FO3 and the audio file for the sniper sounded nothing like the one in the game, and after hopping on FNV I noticed the one there sounded basically the same as This Machine. Anywho, I figured this might be something right up your alley so I figured I'd drop you a line. Richie9999 (talk) 06:25, March 1, 2013 (UTC)

Forums

If you were thinking of raising a rights forum, you should now be able to. I inadvertently seemed to fix them whilst leaving a "broken" message. Looks like they just needed a republish to get back into line. Agent c (talk) 00:56, March 4, 2013 (UTC)

FNV Character page needed

Hey Theo, I just discovered a needed page for the drunk(s) of freeside and I was wondering if you could help me in filling it/them out. Drunk (Fallout: New Vegas) That's the page. Richie9999 (talk) 05:46, March 6, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, I'm on XBox, the playthrough that I'm on right now where I saw them is old. Pretty sure it's my first one, yet all of my patches are up to date so I dunno what the deal is, to clarify, I've had this playthrough since before Dead Money. I've got three of them in freeside, two inside the destroyed building and one behind it. Richie9999 (talk) 23:37, March 6, 2013 (UTC)

bot

Hey Theo

I remember that itch, been shutting it out for years. It can't hurt to pull some of the stuff now I suppose.

Basically, I'm not sure how this is exactly going to work, but I want to create some sort of database or reference list of interviews and source documents to help locate possible references for further articles.

Have you had any luck trimming the slider time so it will work on a portal page ok?Agent c (talk) 12:00, March 7, 2013 (UTC)

A sandbox is enough to get me started, see what the data looks like, and try and puzzle a way to create this reference section... This is a very long term project, so no rush on that.

Cancelled games Portal thing I'm hoping to get that going in the next few weeks. I've got some interest from Wikia in a little marketing push.. There's still the work of filling in the index to do and I'm flat off my feet until tuesday as it is, so no rush, but the goal for that one is at least in sight... Agent c (talk) 00:58, March 8, 2013 (UTC)

Hmm, I've been wanting to avoid that until its ready to publish, but it might make some sense to see it all in action. Agent c (talk) 01:29, March 8, 2013 (UTC)

Admin Request

If its worth anything, he votes against virtually anything, especially special rights requests. You're more qualified than some of our current admins, and you realize something vital that's been forgotten. We are an encyclopedia, not a community blog website. You have every right to react in a troubled manner when he discards your request because some people have forgotten that. Same with chat, which I don't consider a part of this site, but rather its community, which comes in a distant second to the articles. You're invaluable, and your request has one dissenting vote, proving that you are qualified in every sense of the word. My regards and my support USA Flag Pre-War User Avatar talk 20:10, March 8, 2013 (UTC)

Hey Theo! I just wanted to drop by and say a few words to you... Regardless when you become an administrator, I believe you already have the qualities for it. No one is perfect and no one ever will be. Your contributions have been invaluable and nothing will change that. I still remember that day when I posted on that anonymous user's talk page, you know, the one who was working diligently on all those character quotes? ;) It is beyond magnificent to know that such greatness can come from such relative obscurity. I am sad however that you have decided to rescind your application, as I will lose the opportunity to work with another capable, active, and ardent administrator. You are the only one whom I think is even close to being able to qualify for such a position and I encourage that you pursue it again when you feel appropriate. --Skire (talk) 20:12, March 8, 2013 (UTC)

Slider, etc.

Code's in the CSS. Never thought about using rotating content for that, but theoretically, it should work, since the template should parse any wiki-code. It is a bit weird with some things like bulleted and numbered list, though. The Gunny  380px-USMC-E7 svg 20:52, March 8, 2013 (UTC)

Words

Now I'm sure by this time you've grown tired of others words and "support" and what have you. If you would allow me the time though, I have but just a feel more words to add to the table, that may in-turn be the most important you do hear.

I myself have been in what I believe your position to be if I may infer. Running for extra rights. Felling confident with myself. Only wanting to help Nukapedia further. Until, the request was posted, and you step back to see the votes. The first few seem of good news to come, but then, the first vote against. You read it, slowly. Then read it again. Your taken back a little, as they pointed to factors you never though of, and factors you felt you had under wraps. Your taken back. But, then see that the far outweigh the against by some hand, and continue. Then, more against. Same meaning, different words. Your so taken back, almost insulted to a degree. Anger builds, and you wish to lash out, via proper means of course. But what happen next is the most important part of running for extra rights. The vote itself. The hidden test that you never though of, especially after all you had done to achieve this point personally.

Again, the next part, is the most important. How to respond to the challenges of your capabilities. The against votes. Sure, you could throw around facts, and in turn drag out a conversation I promise you nobody will win. Something I have learned form this site, gamers are some of the most opinionated people, and hardest to change of their opinion. But I digress. There is the other possibility though. I know for some, just brushing it off and saying to those challenges "thank you for critiques, I'll keep them in mind" is hard. Myself included. I hate that. But, sometimes we all have to swallow our pride, and take the hit for the team. Now, I ask that you believe me, when I say, that is your best bet. It may feel wrong, and you may think that that's not what people want to see. But, it's the hidden test, all eyes are on you. Waiting for your response. You must tread lightly as these are rocky waters my friend. But, I have faith in your abilities. I know you can.

Now my game was rigged from the start of my request. You though, still have the chance Theo. To help us now, not later, when you try again - as I and many others hope you do do if you stick with your redraw. We all have our own motives for our actions. I recommend that you take another strike at your request, and undo your with draw as I feel you still have that chance for it to pass, and you the chance to help Nukapedia as you so wish if you take a swing at it another way. If you stay with your withdrawal however, I'll stand behind your choices as they are yours. I only wish you try again my friend.

Anyways I probably have rambled on enough anyways and you probably stopped reading minutes ago, so I bed you the best Theo. See you around. Yours Always; --The Old World Relics (talk/blog/contributions) 21:48, March 8, 2013 (UTC)

Botwork

I really do wish you'd stick around. despite what you may feel at the moment, you're really valued here, even by those who voted no. Agent c (talk) 22:11, March 8, 2013 (UTC)

Out of business

I'm on a indefinitely long break, due to a major incompatibility with the "community". --Theodorico (talk) 22:15, March 8, 2013 (UTC)

Admin Request

This is exactly the behaviour that I was worried about seeing. I did not say that you weren't Admin material, and I never did any of the things that you accused me of in your request. Accusations born out of the false belief that for some reason, any criticism directed your way is a form of personal attack against your worth. I was just giving my criticism based on the facts presented to me, which all of us have gotten at some point in time, instead of blindly jumping in and voting yes because we have a new need for your skill-set. (Which still had a possibility of changing to a yes depending on how the poll turned out, until you stated that you deserved the rights, and that anything less was unacceptable.) So I'm going to state it again - I admire the effort you put into this wiki, and I respect your skills to the utmost importance around here. I'm sorry this is how you decided to end your request, since I was expecting you to win and hopefully prove my concerns to be both unnecessary and stupid. If you get the time, I do want the chance to talk with you privately, and hopefully with a more civil result. Let me know if you're interested in talking matters through with me. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 02:39, March 9, 2013 (UTC)

Hey Theo, sorry to see things worked out like they did on the request. Without Leon's reaction it could have been different, but what's done is done. I understand your ultimate reaction. I know you know for yourself you've given a lot of dedication and unique skill to our wiki and then to receive hassling over not "being in touch with the community". If I had gotten that to the degree like you did I'm not sure what I would have done. But on the other hand, you've also received a lot of yes votes and praise on your request. Don't forget that. The outcome is frustrating, but I hope you also see the positive. I'll be honest with you, I'm worried what you'll do now. We need a man with your talent and I'm very happy to mainly see it on the technical side of the wiki. Maybe take some time off. I hope to see you back, Theo.
