Signal Echo Foxtrot is a radio transmission being broadcasted from broadcast tower LP8 in the Capital Wasteland.

Activating the broadcast[edit | edit source]

Broadcast tower LP8 is located northeast of Montgomery County Reservoir, with an electrical switch right beside to activate the broadcast.

Sealed cistern[edit | edit source]

East of the tower is a sealed cistern just over the cliff face, which is the source of the broadcast. Inside the broadcasting area is a skeleton surrounded by mechanical gadgets (including fission batteries, a steam gauge assembly, a motorcycle handbrake and gas tank, along with a Big Book of Science. There is also an easy locked safe. As with all the drainage chamber stations, there is a ham radio that lets you toggle the broadcast.

Morse code[edit | edit source]

The Morse code translation of the broadcast is:

-.-. --.- -.-. --.- -.-. --.- -.. . / . ..-. . ...-. . ..-. -.-
CQ CQ CQ DE / EF EF EF K

This translates to "Seeking all stations, this is... Echo Foxtrot... Echo Foxtrot... Echo Foxtrot... Over." It is emanating from one of nine encoded broadcasting stations.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • There is no clue as to the story of the deceased occupant, but it would seem that he or she took shelter in the drainage chamber when the bombs fell. When the walls crumbled and partially caved in, the occupant was buried alive, with only the upper torso and head protruding from the rubble.
  • PCIcon pc.png There is a red "X" under the ground you can only see using no clipping mode (enter tcl in the console), similar to the other sealed cistern at WKML broadcast station.
