Silver Shroud armor
Silver Shroud Armor
Silver Shroud armor is an outfit-type item in Fallout 4.
A single-breasted, full-length trenchcoat with epaulettes, the classic look is reinforced by the black fabric and the white scarf. The iconic look was created by Hubris Comics for the Silver Shroud, a famous Boston crimefighter and a hero of one of Hubris' most popular radio shows produced in collaboration with GNR. The costume has been modified by Kent Connolly to function as an actual armor, with some salvaged armor lining.
Kent can install additional upgrades in the trenchcoat. The first consists of mint combat armor plates sown into the flaps of the coat. The second is an old military flak jacket, with the protective lining sown into the fabric of the trench coat. The final is poly-laminate plating salvaged from power armor. Connolly is an unexpectedly skilled tailor and none of these upgrades change the outward appearance of the coat.
Together with the Silver Shroud hat, the armor is actually quite useful in combat, combining style with protection. Its only drawback is that it cannot accept ballistic lining. In order to unlock upgrades, the player has to complete The Silver Shroud and ensure Kent survives. He will then upgrade the armor as the player levels up (the initial armor is matched to level 15; subsequent upgrades become available at levels 25, 35, and 45).
