They keep us safe from the outside, but it costs me and the wife quite a bit. And without a plow… well, making ends meet is difficult.

Mr. Smith is one of the many farmers inhabiting the Vault City courtyard in Fallout 2.

Background[edit | edit source]

Smith is a ragged farmer who, with his family, works the land outside of Vault City to make ends meet, although he doesn't know how much longer that will last. Farming is tough without a plow and the Smiths could get a lot more done if they got the equipment.

  • Get a plow for Mr. Smith.: The player can purchase a plow from Happy Harry for $800 ($600 with Barter 51%). In return, Smith will give the player a Desert Eagle and 20 .44 Magnum JHP. If the player asks for money to help buy the plow, Smith will give them $150, but won't gift the pistol afterwards.
