The Sprtel-Wood 9700 is a unique weapon added with the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Gun Runners' Arsenal.

Characteristics[edit | edit source]

The Sprtel-Wood 9700 is a devastating high-speed Gatling laser that shoots green lasers, similar to the AER14 prototype. It has a significantly smaller ammunition capacity, but due to its incredible accuracy, exceptional range, and elevated damage, armor won't provide as much of a defense.

Additionally, the Sprtel-Wood 9700 requires a Strength of only 6 (as opposed to 8) to use effectively and is 3 pounds lighter than a normal Gatling laser, making it more practical to haul around. It can fire 4879 beams, or a little over 52 electron charge packs, from full condition before breaking.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • The Vault Boy image interestingly does not have a backpack.

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

  • The Sprtel-Wood 9700 is an homage to Scott Sprtel, a medical student who was run over while on his bike, and Brian Wood, a game designer at Relic Entertainment who was killed in a traffic collision.[1]

Bugs[edit | edit source]

  • PlayStation 3Icon ps3.png Xbox 360Icon xbox360.png When scoring a critical hit on an enemy and the critical hit animation plays, the sound of the gun firing will still continue to play repeatedly until the gun is fired again.
