It is the location of the Tesla-Beacon Prototype. I stealthboy'd it. Fuck fighting 30+ robots.
Easiest way to take the Robots[]
it is to either have hell a lot of pulse grenades or you can 1-2 shot everything there with Pulse gun yes I'm anon...

Robots don't appear?[]
A few people (myself included) have found that no robots appear at the Vertibird. I want to add this to the article, but I'm not sure if it's the result of a certain circumstance, or just a bug. Unless said otherwise, I'm going to add it as a bug. Mr. Someguy 18:26, November 8, 2010 (UTC)
I just had a similar occurence. I killed 2 Gutsies and 1 Sentry from afar and walked off. As I returned later, all functional robots were gone.

Robot Encounter[]
How many robots did you encounter? At level 20 (normal difficulty, not hardcore), I met five hardened Gutsies and four hardened Sentry Bots. *phew* Wasn't easy on my melee playthrough.
- at level 12 I sniped 3 gutsies and 2 sentry bots using my cowboy repeater from a big rock not far off. Took another sentry out with dynamite. After that I circled around the big rock/hill and let them chase me. Ran in grabbed the weapon and since they were still out of range, fast traveled out of there ;)--Crossmr 06:21, November 11, 2010 (UTC)
I met the same amount at around Lvl. 6... It was not very nice. I had wandered into the area alone, and went to go check out the Map Marker to see what it was when I started getting shot at, so I saved and Made a dash for it, luckily most of them were in the crater part. I landed roughly behind it (May have been the side) and used it for cover since I was level 6 or so. I used my 9mm and just about all the ammo. It worked, and I stayed alive, maybe not the easiest way, but it was the way I thought of while under extreme duress. I didn't even have to reload my save. --PoopieMcGhee

how did it possibly bury itself so far in the ground without injuring the vertibird that much???
It took the Adamantium Skeleton perk.

Guards[]
It says that the guards change and are sometimes ghouls but aren't these ghouls for the nuclear site and not the crashed vertibird.--90.220.126.225 20:39, December 31, 2010 (UTC)

since this has a tesla cannon, capital wasteland BOS tech, is it not possible that the thing crashed on the way to show new tech to the lost hills bunker? CW BOS has vertibirds and developed tesla cannons. So, isn't that just as likely?

If you remember, elder Lyons said that the main chapter of the BoS stopped giving support to them when they started to help the people, so he wouldn't send anything back. Also, there's already a chapter of the BoS in the Mojave Wasteland. Clipboards 19:55, August 10, 2011 (UTC)
