Deathclaw Gauntlet Isn't Ignoring Damage Resistance

Surely this is a known bug, very surprised it isn't mentioned on the page.

It's my first Very Hard playthrough, and I'm looking for one-hit kills against the tougher opponents. I thought the DCG might handle MZ's shielded aliens & BS's hellfire soldiers. With 3x Iron Fist, Better Criticals, Ninja, Superior Defender, Ghoul Ecology, Bloody Mess, and 149 Unarmed, I'd expect a sneak attack to deliver 573 points on Normal, so half that on Very Hard. More than enough to kill either one. But no.

Super Mutant Master takes just under 280. With DR 0, that's almost exactly what's expected (I think my understanding of Bloody Mess is off, or maybe one of the other perks). Sadly, that's not enough, they've got 360.

Hellfire soldier takes about 170, which is almost exactly 60% of what's expected. They have 40% DR. Hello, Novasurge headshot!

I'm on a PC, patched to 1.7, with all DLCs, plus a few mods that I don't think can affect this (Archive Invalidation Invalidated won't work on my machine).

Ignore Normal Weapon Resistance was broken in one of the patches. 1.5 I think, but not sure. Ever since then, Deathclaw attacks are mitigable with DR and the Deathclaw Gauntlet doesn't pierce armor anymore. I don't know if it's fixed in New Vegas or not, but it's a moot point since the Reduce Target Damage Threshold effect works fine. --Kris User Hola.jpg 18:04, November 15, 2010 (UTC)

DCG will not always crit with 10 LCK + Ninja

1. Ninja is broken, multiplies your crit chance by 1.15 instead of adding +15%, so this combo would only give 11.5% crit chance... x5 from DCG is only 57.5%.

2. If your DCG is below perfect condition, it multiplies your crit chance to that percentage. So for example, if the one you're using is only at 75% CND, then considering point 1 above, your crit chance would only be 43.125% (57.5 * 0.75).----Sigma1932 06:20, 25 May 2012 (UTC)
