Will it do poison damage from the shit on it? instant cripple of head from the stench? what could you do with a pooper-scooper? TheLastNinJew 16:00, 21 June 2009 (UTC)The Last NinJew

I think it does poison damage but it can be some other similar effect. Kalalokki 21:54, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

Is there any way of getting the shovel after completing the point lookout main quest? After the main quest all the tribals become hostile, as I found out the hard way after going back to the cathedral for some punga fruit for the A Spoonful of Whiskey quest (ps, the croatoa article lied, he became hostile for me) WouldYouKindly 01:25, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Actually all unnamed tribals become instantly hostile when you kill the brain, but the named tribals stay friendly untill an unnamed tribal sees you. your best bet is to go stealth and talk to him before any of the unnamed tribals see you.GodPlageon 04:06, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Well, guess i'm screwed for one of my gamesaves then (least it isnt my melee weapons character), due to an unfortunate backwater rifle... ahem, "misfire" WouldYouKindly 00:18, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
Lies! I killed Desmond and the Brain and Jackson, and none of the Tribals were hostile. In fact, I shot one of the Tribals with my Zhu-Rong, and he turned hostile, but the Tribal two feet to his left didn't. He was staring right at me! But, when I shot Croatoa to get this shovel, all of them turned hostile. Nitpicker of the Wastes 00:22, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
um...Not lies, as this is what happened to me, but you cant expect a less than week old Add on to be reliable and consistant.GodPlageon 00:36, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, what happened to me was, when I went into the chapel to pick up some punga for the spoonful of whiskey quest, All the unnamed tribals in there went hostile, and when I fought back, all but one of the named tribals in there (including croatoa) went hostile as well. I didnt bother killing the non-hostile one, so as far as i know, Jimson is still in the ark and dove, dancing >.> WouldYouKindly 03:56, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
Sooooo.... back to your question above, where you asked, "Is there any way of getting the shovel after completing the point lookout main quest?" Maybe I'm confused here, or maybe the article is wrong, but... can't you just kinda, you know... loot his corpse? Or did you decide for some reason not to loot the weapon at the time, and now the corpse is gone? Give us more info on your predicament, here. 12.204.48.130 09:34, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
I dunno, when I looted him he had a normal shovel, but then again I was spraying bullets everywhere so maybe it got shot out of his hand and fell through the floor or something? That must be it because i couldnt find it anywhere WouldYouKindly 12:19, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

Does poison effect stack? say I hit some enemy 3 times really fast does that mean a total of 120 points will be downed by poison? Gabriel Cortez 02:17, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Suprisngly yes, can't say it's the same for all versions of the game, but anyway, due to the fact it has the attack speed of a switchblade and the reach of a sledgehammer, you can effectively use it to down hard-to-kill enemies very quickly. M471/952G 16:03, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
I don't think it's stacking for me. :( Gabriel Cortez 04:29, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

Similar to how zombies in Oblivion were immune to poison

Does the poison affect ghouls? I was just wondering because I whumped a reaver upside the head and the impact brought his health down to one bar, but he didn't die from the poison (i waited a long time). Though it might have just been that he had enough health still to last the duration of the poison. Will someone check this?

Stacking Damage

Just wondering if the poison stackes damage for each hit. would make the difference between a good weapon and a great weapon. sorry if i missed something that said it. --J.J.-Lopez 03:14, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Poison damage stacks, for all weapons that deal poison damage. 68.192.9.90 21:35, October 15, 2009 (UTC)

Can't find Croatoa

I have completed the main quest line, the tribals are all agressive, I walk into the Cathedral, they rush me, I slay them all, Croatoa isn't there! He's not out side where the other tribals are that I then kill. I don't know where he went off to. Anyone else know what I am talking about?

Twang! goes the shovel

I love this weapon because of the funny sound it make on strike. It is very fitting to hit a inbred local with it as it just seems hilarious to fight with shovels. This and the Backwater Rifle are now two of my favorite weapons.68.28.41.226 07:27, January 3, 2011 (UTC)Alexi
