Need help...[]

How do I make Dog stay in the substation? I couldn't do so by talking to him, and telling him to wait using the companion wheel didn't work either.68.235.157.30 06:42, December 23, 2010 (UTC)Gravity Cat

I always switched him to God and then managed to get him to stay. Needed an Inteligence check though. The Emporer 14:57, January 14, 2011 (UTC)

How do you lock Dog in? I've been stuck on this bit for hours and nothing helps. I can't get Dog to stay. He says he's hungry but he's eaten everything around him. I don't have the recording so I can't switch him to God. He always follows me out of the gates even when I tell him to wait. There's no way to lock the gates.

Reference to Deep Purple?[]

Their song "Smoke on the Water" has the lyrics "...and fires in the sky." 70.178.19.140 10:30, March 3, 2011 (UTC)

It could be a reference. It's quite common for game developers to sneakily put references to popular shows, music etc in their games. So you could be onto something here. --Enigma24 (talk) 23:09, May 17, 2014 (UTC)

Bug, please help[]

I cant recuite dog or god. he just stands at the fontain an says "let dog out. dog is hungry." whe i play the "back in the cage" holotape it is even with subtitel and nothing happens after.he just stands there. my quest marker points at him an my questpoint is "get dog/god to the switchin station". does anybody have a clue to advantage?

Answer[]

You can complete the quest with the console commands.

Use "completeallobjectives 01013a3f" to complete the first objective. Now you have to add the second objective. Use "sqs 01013a3f" to see the objectives you have left. Then use "setstage 01013a3f XX" where XX is the objective you want to add (it's a two-digit number). After you have added the second objective use "completeallobjectives 01013a3f" again. Then add a new objective and so on. Repeat until you have completed them all. After that the quest gets completed and you can play like normal.

Refernce to the Movie?[]

Is it a reference to the alien abduction movie Fire In The Sky?

Help. I cant trigger this quest[]

I've rescued all collars that hologram asked and they definitely stand right in front of designated fountain but I can't trigger this quest. Obviously. there is no new dialogue option when I talk to that hologram. (I cliked every single of them) How to trigger this quest normally? am I supposed to be trapped in here forever?? :s

I had a bit of trouble with this too. I kept reloading, and running around. I examined the fountain, and noticed there was a "projector" on the edge of the fountain making the hologram of the woman. I "talked" to the projector and managed to get the quest started that way.71.20.6.229 06:26, October 19, 2011 (UTC)

Just showing up at the fountain is not enough. You have to wait until Father Elijah's hologram appears instead of the regular fountain girl. Then look at the "rays" and there's the projector at the "rim" of the fountain. "Activate" that to talk to Elijah and activate the quest. Kschang 04:30, March 13, 2012 (UTC)

Is there a more detailed map?[]

I got to the place but I can't find my way back out. I think I only got out when I lucked unto the key which opens one of the "require key" gates. Spent a full hour running back and forth looking for the **** exit.

HINT: The key is inside the cloud. There's a gate with a skeleton on it. On the cloud side, facing the gate, go up to the gate and turn left, you'll just BARELY be safe from the cloud if you're right up against the wall. There's another skeleton there that has the key (look for it carefully).

IF you play on nonPC platform, your options are really limited. If you play on PC, there's a few way to navigate this maze easier.

  • Use the coc marker. We can use coc command to move to the entry point of each map, as noted in main page. Whenever you feel lost, just coc back to the entry points of that map to start again. That will solve any disorientation you might have. And if you feel lazy, tcl to move to certain point of interest to cut down time on exploration.
  • Combat first, exploration later. Use chems to enhance combat abilities, then actively hunt red ticks to finish them off as soon as possible. Ignore the maze. Mentats give +2PER so it make detecting easier, use that. After you clean up a map, it take quite a long time for enemies to respawn, so use that time to explore the map in leisure.
  • Use both World map and local map to navigate. The way it draw, world map is different than local map: in one map, navigable road is light, but in the other it's dark.Laclongquan (talk) 06:48, May 22, 2013 (UTC)

Infinite Experience?[]

I was trying to find the dialogue path that lets you pass a speech check, when I noticed something strange. I had used Dog up to now. I talked to him and found out that the gala had already been used as a way to enter the casino. For some reason, I decided to switch to God and ask him about it near the gate. Asking him about it offers experience points without any skill checks. There is also a speech check (skill 85) the first time you go through it, but it seems to have disappeared. Oddly, though, you can get experience points at least twice. 174.24.94.100 18:54, July 7, 2013 (UTC)

Unable to complete quest[]

Hi there,

I've got as far as the point where you have to make Dog wait in the Switching Station but he won't stay. He says he doesn't like it because its too much like a cage and that he'll do it if he's fed but I can never get any further. Anyone have any ideas? --Enigma24 (talk) 23:11, May 17, 2014 (UTC)

Reference to Fire In the Sky?[]

Is it possible this quest is reference to the 1993 film "Fire in the Sky"? There seem to be many sci-fi references throughout Fallout, so is this plausible?
