You know, Automatic Grenade Launcher sounds a bit better that "Grenade Machine Gun". And it probably doesn't use Frag Grenades. Grenades have a pin that must be pulled, this weapon probably fires some sort of "miniature" warheads that detonate on impact, rather than a grenade.

Infobox needs fixing[edit source]

how would it work?[edit source]
It seems like a weapon that would be rlly fun to play with but how exactly woult it work in real life? I mean I know that alot of fallout weapons also wouldnt be able to work but still theyre kinda base on something. Im just sayin it would seem more pratrical if they used somthing like the grenade launcher they cut in broken steel at least it would make a bit more sense.
- The AA-12 combat shotgun can be loaded with grenades, which it can launch farther than a .22 rifle can shoot. The AA-12 is a full-auto shotgun built from the ground up to be a military weapon, unlike most other shotguns used by the military. See this video for more info.

i heard that the grenade mashine gun is based on a real life weapon but i dont know which one.
umm this resembles more of a gatling gun than a machine gun, who exactly put it as "machine gun" anyways? were not 5 anymore, we know machine guns have names, GAWD!!!! jk

This sounds incredibly overpowered[edit source]
I mean, one (or maybe a couple) frag is enough to take out some enemies (like raiders). I mean, if not for ammo somewhat-scarcity, if this thing fires pineapple-style grenades... well, BOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOM-BAMF. Dead Behemoths, or the Vegas equivalent, at least.
Plus, the desciption for an ammo variant reads "25mm HE - 25mm High-Explosive grenades. They do lots of damage and have an increased blast radius. " Wow. Nathan Hale 00:07, July 25, 2010 (UTC)
- I believe that launched grenades (if only in the Fallout universe) are typically less powerful than a hand grenade. There could be room for a launched grenade with an increased blast radius that still falls short of a hand grenade. Kris (talk) 01:41, July 25, 2010 (UTC)

I've been using it recently and I don't think it's incredibly over powered at all. It doesn't seem have much effect on armoured opponents, but it tears up groups of unarmoured enemies (maybe this has to do with my SPECIAL and skills etc, i dunno, what I notice is the effects)). Also, the range is small, as with the other GLs in the game. really, I've only ever found it useful against groups of human enemies with weak armour -legionary recruits/some types of raider/civilians- and weaker animals. It does not fire hand grenades, it uses 25mm rounds that seem to perform more like a 'portable' autocannon would in real life. I think the GMG is a bit pointless really, the anti materiel rifle kicks its arse for late game ordnance(Pseudoman 12:12, November 4, 2010 (UTC))

dps of weapon is Wrong[edit source]
with only 60 explosive skill, the dps is 200+ for grenade machine gun did someone pull number from GECK again?
3rd person view[edit source]
When I put away this weapon in 3rd person view, the courier is still holding it by the top handle with his right hand. It looks funny when you run as he swings it up and down with his arm.--220.127.116.11 15:57, November 30, 2010 (UTC)
Not much impressed[edit source]
This is my first build with explosives and at first I was not impressed with this weapon. It's the equivalent of Minigun in guns skill and Gatling Laser in energy weapons skill, wich means it can fire very fast doing moderate to low damage with normal ammmunition and has a poor accuracy. Like most explosive weapons it fires in arc. Don't even waste your caps in the normal 25mm grenades, buy up front the 25mm high explosive ones, wich is available by tons in most vendors, this will make this weapon much better (like AP ammo for the Minigun or ECP Over/Max Charge for the Gatling). Also, expend at least one rank in Demolition Expert and also Hit the Deck, because it's a certainty that you will fire some shots close to you (and if you take companions Spray ‘n Pray is a must). After all of this, this weapon should become a beast, much like the Minigun equiped with High-Speed Motor, Damped Subframe and AP ammo. Brfritos 04:18, December 29, 2010 (UTC)
dont forget Splash Damage, just tried it with that perk, Demolitions Expert rank 1, and with the motor mod, and this thing tears up crap just with normal ammo (I'll test it on deathclaws to see if it can work XD) also with 100 explosive, once I get Heave Ho! perk, this should be a fairly accurate explosive weapon :D -Zerginfestor

DPS in game[edit source]
The dps listed is wrong.
There should be 2 dps's listed, one for the high speed motor attached and one without. Mine listed with is 401 dps!!!
Dont downplay the beast that is the Grenade machinegun.
Bugged Explosives after LR?[edit source]
I've been testing out my newly maxed character after beating Lonesome Road and my first thought was to try out the Red Glare and the Grenade Machinegun since ED-E could repair them free of charge anyway. But what i noticed was instead of slaughtering everything i could see, neither weapon hit a single point of damage, direct hit or splash damage. This was without any explosive perks but 100 Explosives Skill. I fired 200 25mm grenades at a Golden Gecko and not a single one inflicted any damage, not even in VATS or on Very Easy mode. Same problem with the Red Glare, it fired about 100 Rockets with the same lack of success. Not sure if it was just a glitch in the game (Far too common with a 15mb save file...) or perhaps the new patch has broken the Explosives weapons. I want someone else to try it out and see, this one is bugging me to no end.
