Is it actually mentioned which of Jonathan and Jessica is actually a descendant of the Maxson line? As far as I recall, they are both just referred to as Arthur's parents, i.e. you don't know which one married into the family. // Porter21 U | T 17:11, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Well, it's definitely more common for the wife to take her husband's name, not the other way around, and since Fallout's social structure is more like the one in the 1950s (where it was even more common) than ours, I'd just assume it unless proven otherwise. Ausir 17:26, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
Agreed about that in general - however, considering the Maxson name is somewhat similar to royalty (especially considering the Brotherhood's partially medieval cultural roots) it may be the other way round in this specific case. If a commoner married a queen, I don't think the queen would take his name :-) // Porter21 U | T 17:32, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
Well, we have no evidence of such customs in the Brotherhood, so I would just assume that it's Jonathan that's the Maxson descendant until there's evidence suggesting otherwise. And Bethesda will probably assume that it's him too because it's in the wiki. :) Ausir 17:52, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
