if youu give the book to blackhall for 1k caps, you can kill him and retrieve it, and it is NOT considered as a quest item (tested on 360, worked several times for me)
got it as nice decoration for my megaton shack ;)
if you make a auto-save (AKA pressing back and waiting 1 hour) and kill the guy when he has the book, then load the auto-save immediatly after killing him you might be able to drop it in the save you just quickly loaded seeing that it works for the ink container with the robot button gwinett maximum628184.108.40.206 23:17, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
I was on my way back to dunwitch and a random old guy named dong ropey shot me in the face and took it. :'(--Atlas Lied! 09:26, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
its not the book it self , its the stuff thats written in the book thats evil . if its anything like the necronomicon then itll be something lik ancient sumerian burial and demon summoning rites written in human blood and clad in cured human skin ! that evil enough for ya ? (or it could jst b a small burnt book with a silly name ...)Rippa1889 14:30, June 4, 2010 (UTC)
Yeah its just a small burned book with a silly name. Thats worshiped or hated by multiple parties.. and is associated with a haunted buildinging.. and bursts into flames upon touching a special rock... Chaos ian7 23:21, January 23, 2011 (UTC)
I know its a long shot and its meant to be a refrence to H.P Lovecraft but it realy reminds me of Tom Riddles diary from Harry Potter. It resebles it in colour and has a slash in the front like the diary after it gets stabed. Both are evil and sort of possess/controle people, diary= Ginny Krivbeknih= that goul in dunwitch and blackhall. Both have to be distroyed in a special way. Anyway, didnt think it was article worthy but wanted to mention it. Peace. JaspertheViking :D? 14:26, July 19, 2010 (UTC)
- Most likely, Riddle's diary is another Lovecraft reference, but I haven't read Harry Potter so I don't know for sure. Kris (talk) 20:06, July 19, 2010 (UTC)
- I am not sure how big of fans the people at Bethesda are of Harry Potter, but it is a possible to be a reference or inspiration (unintentional or not). Chaos ian7 17:34, October 4, 2010 (UTC)
I don't get how Jaime's dad got it. Then, Jaime finds it next to his dad. Now it's in the hands of Point Lookout's inbred hillbillies. --Wierdperson31 23:16, October 12, 2010 (UTC)
- The cut part of the quest explains it a little but not a lot. --Kris 23:59, October 12, 2010 (UTC)
The book could be the necronomicon but the people gave the book it's own name after centuries of it turning into mutiple hands. The rituals practiced are typically Satanic Abuse Rituals.
Quite likley. Abdul is mentioned so why not his Necronomicon? Chaos ian7 23:17, January 23, 2011 (UTC)
