The article says the creature was created for an early draft of Fallout 2. How can it appear on a Fallout loading screen then? Seems a bit confusing. -- Porter21 (talk) 15:52, January 16, 2010 (UTC)

The source at the bottom says F2. Maybe they had almost finished Fallout when they started thinking up ideas for F2? Nitty Tok. 15:56, January 16, 2010 (UTC)
Possible. I think it needs to be clarified either way though. -- Porter21 (talk) 16:18, January 16, 2010 (UTC)
Because they were toying with sequel ideas back then and apparently, Cain liked Leonard's painting so much, he had it thrown in as a loading screen for Fo2. http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/thumb/4/4a/Naglowaa_se.gif/11px-Naglowaa_se.gif Tagaziel (call!) 17:36, January 16, 2010 (UTC)
So it's a FO2 loading screen, not a FO1 one? What you just wrote seems to support it's a FO1 loading screen, but then you put FO2 :P -- Porter21 (talk) 17:37, January 16, 2010 (UTC)
At least I *think* it is from a Fo1 loading screen... DAMN YOU, YOU CONFUSE ME. http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/thumb/4/4a/Naglowaa_se.gif/11px-Naglowaa_se.gif Tagaziel (call!) 17:40, January 16, 2010 (UTC)

I seem to recall seeing the loading screen in both the fallout games, but it's been a while. I just thought they shared the same loading screens.AryeonosWhat!? 22:09, September 21, 2011 (UTC)

"Lobotomites are creatures found in the Big Empty in 2281."

Except... they're not really "creatures" are they. --User:Cartman!User talk:Cartman! 21:02, May 9, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the change. --User:Cartman!User talk:Cartman! 21:30, May 9, 2011 (UTC)

How aren't they creatures, not that I dispute the coding, but they aren't attacked by Nightstalkers. Do they have animal friend as well, or, what is keeping the nightstalkers from attacking them when I'm fighting em? I understand it's probably for game balance, having a nightstalker at your aid constantly might make having the animal friend perk useful make the game too easy. I haven't taken the chance to look through all of it until after I complete Old World Blues, but I think it's worth looking into.AryeonosWhat!? 21:27, September 21, 2011 (UTC)

What is the source of the picture currently on this page?

What are the Lobotomites wearing?

It looks like a retectured Army Mechanic Jumpsuit from F3's DLC Op. Anchorage,It looks a whole lot dirtier than the old one, But I dont know. Sorry for making this topic, it sounds useless, but I'm just curious.and those goggles are they night vision?

  • It's visually identical to the Sierra Madre jumpsuit you start dead money with. The goggles don't look much like real NV gear, although that could be the idea. In the game, they just give you -2 INT. (SPAMLibArmy 18:23, July 23, 2011 (UTC))

I think the goggles are a nod to one of Kurt Vonnegut's stories.AryeonosWhat!? 21:29, September 21, 2011 (UTC)

Anyone see their faces?

It's grisly-lookin' in my opinion.

Level Scaling?

I'm playing as a level 44 character, and am getting completely destroyed by swarms of lobotomites with brush guns. Do their weapons scale to the player level, or are other people with lower-level characters also facing large quantities of .45-70 GOVT weapons? --L3377MA573R 05:58, July 22, 2011 (UTC)

They are indeed tiered every 10 levels they recieve upgrades in there weaponry. If you went in at say level 15 or 20 they wouldn't have any brushguns.--LordVukodlak 20:15, July 22, 2011 (UTC)

Seems to be a trend with DLC enemies. At the highest level they are incredibly powerful compared to most of what you can find in the vanilla game. Sneaking up on them or past them is pretty much impossible as well.

  • That's what's really killing me up at higher levels. With them, my 100 Sneak skill is essentially worthless. I really wouldn't mind, except that they're so bland and uninteresting that I don't feel any real sense of accomplishment when I kill them. They're not even as interesting as White Legs. (SPAMLibArmy 18:27, July 23, 2011 (UTC))

HOW THE HELL DID THEY GET BRUSH GUNS? If you ask me Energy weapons would've made more sense.

Yep. I was Lv.40+ when I started and saw nothing but Hunting Revolvers, Brush Guns, 10mm SMGs, Shishkebabs, and the usual Saturnite Fists and Proton Axes. Also I'm not sure what their base Perception is, but I think they're benefiting from the +2 on their goggles. User:Great_MaraUser talk:Great_Mara 01:38, July 25, 2011 (UTC)

Someone did a piece on the scaled weapons of the Y-17 trauma override harness that was very helpful, someone needs to do the same here.Lonely astronomer 09:27, July 25, 2011 (UTC)

The goggles only increase perception if you have the Four Eyes Trait, other wise they negate 2 intelligence.AryeonosWhat!? 01:38, October 2, 2011 (UTC)

Eyes & Speach

First has anyone else found lobotomites who seem to have their eyes gouged out or something when you take their headgear off.

Secondly it says in the article the lobotomites can only make grunts and similar noises but I have heard/seen them say things like "die".Frantruck 21:03, July 25, 2011 (UTC)

No, they have eyes the ones you saw must've had 'em closed.

I am not saying all the time but in some instances it looked like the eyes were gouged out (red craters in their faces where their eyes should be) deffinately not just closed. I play on PS3 probably should have said that the first time.Frantruck 01:16, August 1, 2011 (UTC)

Venture Bros

Seeing as they've been around since Fallout 1/2, I don't think they are a Venture Bros reference. If they weren't dressed as they are in the loading screen I would loom past it, but they're a Fallout reference, not Venture Bros, surely? --Hipster Of The Wastes 23:30, July 26, 2011 (UTC)

How about we say "Dual Reference" and forget about it? Don't be a Nonlife, play fairly. 02:35, August 1, 2011 (UTC)

"Dr. Dala calls them "skinvelopes." Her observations report that 43% of the time when two lobotomites are left together, they will either fight for dominance or "...inject bodily fluids into each others' orifices." It can be assumed that the other 57% is the behavior players are actually exposed to."

I don't think this is technically correct. From what I gathered, she refers to the empty body itself as a skinvelope and doesn't use the word interchangeably with a fully converted lobotomite. On another note, when she says what they do 43% of the time, she means in her experiments and not 43% of the time when they wander around the Big MT. So that whole section is sorta off in terms of accuracy. Gary 42 19:04, October 15, 2011 (UTC)

Scarcity of females?

Is it just me, or are the female lobotomites ludicrously rare? I just checked the only location I've seen them(X-8 Testing Facility specificly; though I'm skeptical the location makes a difference) and only found one where I'd recalled a female majority of lobotomites. What's up with this?Wandrian 19:51, October 30, 2011 (UTC)

At a guess I'd say that there are more male lobotomite template characters in the GECK than females. If my assumption is correct, that would mean that there is a higher likelyhood that randomly generated lobotomites will be male.Aryeonos 05:55, 11 May 2012 (UTC)

How many templates has nothing to do with it. What is the determining factors is how many times a template is used and also chance of a template being used in a levelled list. User:AvatarUser talk:Avatar 11:47, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
