Super Mutant Hunting[]

Other than the first run up Black Mountain and Black Rock Cave, where are some good places to rack up some Super Mutant kills? Sure, I could wipe out Jacobstown, but I'd rather not. -Malus X 18:43, November 15, 2010 (UTC)

I can't even think of where you could find 50...70.179.38.132 04:42, November 16, 2010 (UTC)
Okay, I got the first rank of this today, after a week or so. So far all I know on how to get this is a respawning Nightkin in Novac, few respawning Super Mutants and very few Nightkin at Black Mountain, and the respawning Nightkin in Black Rock Cave. That is too much of a pain in the ass to rack up Super Mutant kills. You maybe a little more than 10 each time. Sure, I could wait for them to respawn, but that's like dental work to wait that long. There HAVE to be more unfriendly Super Mutants around somewhere. -Malus X

Not to mention that there are so few super mutants, the perk is essentially worthless by the time you could get it. 71.169.0.52 02:14, December 20, 2010 (UTC)

I'm unsure if you need Wild Wasteland or not (they're near the unexploded nuke, The One), but 3 or 4 appear North of Ranger Station Bravo, West of The Devil's Throat.--86.44.140.20 15:07, December 12, 2010 (UTC)

I saw at least 2 at Jack Rabbit Springs. I may be incorrect though.--Radiated Raider 15:14, December 12, 2010 (UTC)

Main page[]

Shouldn't the main page state it's both Super Mutants and Nightkin, if in fact Nightkin count for this perk? ReapTheChaos 16:41, January 8, 2011 (UTC)

Locations[]

Seeing as Super Mutants and Nightkin are fairly rare in this game, it seems like putting together a list of places to find them either on the main page or here would be a useful addition. I have to agree though, killing enough to get this perk is a feat. By the time you get rank 3 you would have no need to kill any more of them, making this basically a useless perk. Maybe one of the future add-ons will have more, who knows.

I’ll start a list here, feel free to add on.

  • Inside the REPCONN Test Site basement there are 6-8 Nightkin. (Come fly with me quest.)
  • Two Nightkin will spawn on the road leading to REPCONN test site, but in my experience the ghouls kill them before I reach them.
  • Jack Rabbit springs will spawn 1-2 Super Mutants.
  • One Nightkin spawns in the quest Midnight ranch attacks.
    • This Nightkin has been known to respawn, he can be found day or night standing just outside the Brahmin pen cloaked.
  • Black mountain will spawn several Super Mutants and Nightkin. (start at Neil’s shack, 10-15 when you do Crazy, Crazy, Crazy and 6-8 thereafter.)
  • Black rock cave has 3-4 Nightkin that respawn
    • The Mutants/Nightkin on both Black Mountain and Black rock cave will be neutral (non-hostile) if you completed Crazy, Crazy, Crazy peacefully. You can still kill them, but it kinda takes the sport out of it.
  • The Devils throat will spawn 1-2 Mutants. (several Centaur’s though, good for Abomination perk.)
    • In my experience, one with very little health will spawn by the trailer in the crater, and up to 3 by the campfire to just to the Northwest. GRPeng 19:59, September 29, 2011 (UTC)
  • Nopah cave has one that will respawn with very little health carrying a Fat Man. Hitting it with a grenade killed it before the grenade went off.
  • Brooks tumbleweed ranch has one somewhat friendly Nightkin.
  • During the quest Guess Who I Saw Today, if you don’t pass an 80 speech check, Keene and two other Knightkin will attack you in Jacobstown.
  • Aside from slaughtering the rest of the Mutants/Nightkin in Jacobstown that is all I know of. ReapTheChaos 07:36, January 18, 2011 (UTC)
