Finally a melee weapon with high critical damage. For those unware, when chosing the Super Slam perk melee weapons have 30% chance of knocking down the target and unarmed only 15%. Finally a weapon that's both good at crit hits and knock effect. Brfritos 06:24, September 23, 2011 (UTC)

Grand Slam = Fore![]
Old Glory's special VATS melee move, Grand Slam seems strikingly similar to the 9 Iron and Nephi's Golf Driver's special move, Fore! Can anyone confirm whether or not they are the same move or if they just look similar due to VATS's cinematic camera angles. Our name is Legion 13:23, October 1, 2011 (UTC)
Grand Slam it's like, a baseball bat hit, totally different from a golf driver hit, just run foward and hold the attack button and see the difference.
Highest Sneak Attack Critical in the game?[]
I have been working on a Melee Sneak Crit build recently, and as I looked around for weapons that could fit in well with it I came across Old Glory.
When I started crunching the numbers for it, however, it became clear to me that this weapon is not just your garden-variety good for such crits; it completely breaks the game with them. So, as I can't test it at the moment, could someone take a look at these numbers and see if they are correct?
OG's Critical weapon damage, with all perks:
80 * 1.5 (Better Crits) * 1.5 (Elijah's Ramblings) * 1.5 (Just Lucky I'm Alive) * 1.25 (Ninja) = 337.5
40 + 337.5 = 377.5 * 5 (SAC) = 1887.5 + 120 (VATS and Grand Slam's additions to base damage) = 2007.5
Even without JLIA, VATS and GS, it's still enough to one-hit kill every enemy I know of in FNV (1550). Is any of this true?

Yeah, tested, it has highest sneak crit damage in the game.
Flagpole?[]
I could be wrong, but after doing some looking around, I believe Old Glory is meant to be a flagpole. The name being a reference the the american flag, Ulysses' use of Old World flags as colour coded symbols, as well as a google search showing metal eagles used in lieu of a ball on flag poles, would support this. As such, I have taken the liberty of adjusting the description from "Maple staff" to "Maple flag pole" --TravisTee34 (talk) 09:40, December 23, 2015 (UTC)
