Brand name[]

Wait... the Big Boss brand huh... Big Boss is a famous user of cigarettes from the Metal Gear Solid series... Could it be a reference? KnightNapier 03:21, August 4, 2010 (UTC)

Funny... it says that they're marked as "Big Boss' brand... but in the PC GOTY edition (at least, in MY game), all of the packs/cartons have the Lucky Strike logo. 24.6.215.33 09:26, August 26, 2010 (UTC)
I think it is a reference. Otherwise, why else would they be Big Boss brand? In most (if not all) Metal Gear Solid games, the cigarettes are Big Boss brand. Even the Cigars in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, were Big Boss brand, even though Big Boss didn't exist yet.--Exeter17 09:29, June 6, 2011 (UTC)

Big Boss?[]

Are they really branded at all? I don't see it on the packaging.--Gothemasticator 09:42, June 6, 2011 (UTC)

If you look closely at the shield in the centre, it definitely says Big Boss.EDIT: Sorry, multiple tabs open at once - the carton of cigarettes has branding but the pack, at least from what i can see from the picture, doesn't.-EllEzDee 03:21, July 15, 2011 (UTC)
I can make it out on both the carton and pack, definitely says Big Boss. For the pack, it's there on the shield. Helps to look down a little bit from the monitor but you can make out the yellowish text (or at least some of the letters) if you want to strain your eyes. --Pyoobez 09:55, July 21, 2011 (UTC)

Too difficult, or too problematic?[]

Seriously, cigarettes could have been utilized just like any other chem in the game (addictiveness, effects, etc..). There had to be some reason the developers chose not to make it available for use for the PC, but have NPCs smoking like chimneys. Is it too difficult or space consuming to program such a thing, perhaps? And on a side note, I personally think it would have been pretty bad ass to see my PC smoking (insert TRUTH ad here).67.142.173.24 05:46, June 24, 2012 (UTC)
