The DLC's[]

Really[]

Ok look, this is Maryland, not Louisiana. No crocs. Ok now that thats out of the way, I would like to talk about what you all thing may be it the DLC. I know there are Hillfolk and Tribals, buy what about animals. Heres what I think:

  • A new type of giant ant that is more deadly and can hide in the swamp
  • RadCoons: A giant raccoon that jump you like Trogs
  • RadSkeeters: Like a bloatfly, but they attack with their huge proboscis.

There should also be a trippy place with flashbacks.

Maybe we could have some Hillfolk that have lichen and stuff growing on their backs as a special encounter. They just kind of pop up off a sitting/crouching/prone position on the ground with their backs towards you so all you see is lichen, then they stand up and try to take a chunk out of you with some sort of massive weapon, like an Axe. //--Radiation King 12:04, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

Don't rule out crocs just because it's Maryland. They could have easily escaped from a local aquarium or zoo. After all, Radscorpions are the descendants of insects found in petshops. I really like the RadSkeeter idea though... ~ The Unsigned One, 14 June 2009

I just hope the new perks are auto done one's like the pitt or operation. If it's level up one's and do they really expect me to just toss out my broken steel level 30 one, just cause there is new DLC

Oh yes and we could have RadDeer and RadBeavers and RadAnts could be your new type of ant. Oh, but why stop their when we could have even new radlocations. Perhaps the RadSwamp. Brilliant. Wow your a fucking idiot.

Oh woops sorry this is meant for the section above for that dumbfuck who mentioned RadSkeeters and RadCoons.

Lmao, I think that makes you the dumb fuck, buddy. 173.33.19.170 19:26, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Mutant Crocodiles[]

Croc2

Who else is hoping the Mutant crocodiles from the unreleased Fallout Tactics:2 gets included? --IrishCape 16:41, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

At first, I was hoping for a special camouflaged swamp Mirelurk, which jumps up out of the waist-deep murk to cut you to ribbons. Now that i've seen that "croczilla" artwork, I'm sharing your hopes about a second start for this thing. --Echo11 15:06, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

It Seems likely seeing as its susposedly going to have a swamp/horror theme to it. Mutated crocodiles/alligators would be a really cool addition to the dlc.

AlexTheTitan 21:49, 22 May 2009 (UTC)AlexTheTitanAlexTheTitan 21:49, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

Yes, and especially if they could ambush the player, as that doesn't happen in Fallout 3 very often. It would really be a great move on Bethesda's part to let it use the environment around you to kill you. --Echo11 16:14, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

How is anybody gonna get ambushed when we have red compass markings? V.A.T.S. addict 17:54, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
The red marks only show up if your character detects the enemy. This is what the Perception stat is mostly good for in FO3. So if some enemy were, say, hidden under the swamp water, and didn't move until you got close, there's a good chance you wouldn't detect it. IMHO, that would be fun. 12.204.48.130 08:13, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

You know what would be sick? Evil giant radioactive raccoons! They could be called Radcoons! TheLastNinJew

Nevermind that could be racist sorry... TheLastNinJew

Humanoid intelligent Racoons were created in The Glow from Fallout 1, but they were cut from the game. 90.187.15.27 23:53, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

That's right, and the main reason was that the developers found it to be not "Fallout-like" enough. As Bethesda has access to all the original Fallout files, I'm not counting on their comeback. --Echo11 09:33, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

It would make sense that they would put a mutated crodilian in this DLC. Since crocs can take immense amounts of pain and can go without food or sunlight for a year, Bethesda would probably put them in. Plus, it's a giant croc, what could be more awesome than that?

Something in Maryland, maybe? Crocodiles are not in Maryland, period. That image was from Fallout Tactics 2, not this DLC. I will disown Fallout 3 if there are any Mutant Crocodiles in this DLC, because it will make no sense whatsoever. --Twentyfists 01:25, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
True enough, but then again there aren't any black bears near Washington DC, or alligator snapping turtles, definately not any Naked mole rats, horse shoe crabs, or Brahman. Putting a crocodilian wouldn't be the first inaccuracy Bethesda made in zoological placement.
This issue is not as simple as saying "such-and-such is not native to the area." We're talking nearly 270 years in the future, in an environment where man has very little influence on the natural order. Did you know that honey bees are not native to North America? They were imported from Europe for honey production in the 1600s, which means they've only been here for fewer than 400 years. Now they're everywhere in this region; not only on "honey farms," but in the wild as well. Whenever a species is introduced to a new area, it adapts as best it can, and in the long run, it either stabilizes and thrives or it dies out. If it doesn't die out, the odds are that its population will grow over the years, until the local resources can't sustain further growth (or local predators won't allow further growth). In the case of the Yao guai, for example, they could have easily come from a small handful of specimens in the beginning, even if the original black bears escaped from a local zoo, for example. Since they are such powerful predators, they have no trouble competing in their environment, and consequently they exist in significant numbers. Undoubtedly, many species in the world of Fallout have become extinct, but we are only encountering the ones who were hardy enough to survive 200 years of fierce competition. In other words, it's a brave new world. It is scientifically unreasonable to expect that the Fallout world should have the exact same species, living in the exact same geographical regions, as the present world. The biosphere is always defined simply by what is capable of surviving where, not neat little maps drawn by man. In other words, to address this idea that crocodiles "couldn't exist" in the northeastern region of North America, the scientific fact is that they most certainly could, and even in great numbers, under the proper circumstances. Technically, only a single breeding pair would be necessary, although more specimens would logically increase their odds of success. (Sorry for the long post... you can tell this is a subject I enjoy.) 12.204.48.130 08:13, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

there also only one huge demonic reptilian armor piercing monster in DC, but with the bush presidency over long before the bombs would have fallen i beleve that cheney wouldn't have been anywhere near DC to be come the first deathclaw. Gwyllgi 23:36, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, but obviously the current occupant of the White House survived, at least his brain anyway...a computer (President Eden) that wants to eventually remove any and all "undesirables"? Sounds awfully familiar...

Companions[]

Any ideas on whether we will be able to bring companions to Point Lookout? I would imagine you can't for Mothership Zeta for plot reasons, but since we could bring companions to Adams AFB I hope you can bring them to this swamp.

Nope, sorry but you can't.Chrsghoyt 17:43, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

Interesting[]

Now why would it be available for preorder before it's even announced? Wonder if that was a mistake on Bethdesa's marketing part. Any ideas? —Preceding comment was unsigned. Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Probably a slip-up. Either way, it says the release date is June 9. That would mean that Point Look would have to come out in late May. Could we be seeing two expansions this month? MaulYoda

Not likely because of the new DLC/achievements rules that were leaked by Xbox360achievements.com. It said that you could only have 250 points and 8 achievements per sales quarter. I don't think there would be another DLC pack with only 2 achievements. I may have even said only 1 DLC pack per sales quarter anyway. I don't know the sales quarter monthes, but it is possible that the first week in June might be Point Look's release date if it exists. But let us not worry about such things right now, as Broken Steele is only a few days away. Trooper117 18:25, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

If it does come out in June, I wonder why Bethesda has kept it so close to the vest. You'd think they would have said something or left a few hints. Maybe Broken Steel might have a few clues (NPCs making offhand remarks about something at Point Look). The lack of anything substantial about this makes me think this may not be a DLC pack, per se. It could be the addition of a new weapons vendor from Point Look with unique item-collection quests and superweapons, for instance. It's also entirely possible that Point Look is just the codename for something completely unexpected. I don't know, it's just suspicious that we figure this out before Bethesda officially announces it. -- Commdor /{Talk} 18:53, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

Seeing as it comes with broken steel, point look could be about the making of the broken steel, just a thought.--92.234.175.62 02:37, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

I seriously doubt it's just a making of, why would it cost the same as two expansions if it's just BS and the making of BS? That'd be as queer as a 3 dollar bill. Also it has been called Point Lookout, and that's a state park/area very close to DC, hardly a coincidence.67.211.81.140 06:14, 4 May 2009 (UTC)Cavesloth

It isnt such a coincidence, well I better get my pack mule Charon to get his Winterized Tb-51 power armor on, WE ARE GOING FOR A ROAD TRIP. (Faster Charon, FASTERRRRR!) 74.170.163.209 18:18, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

For what it's worth, the sites that leaked it have leaked unannounced EA products in the past, so it's probably legit.

Location[]

I've been camping a few times at the real-world Point Lookout and there isn't a lot there. Great place to do some kayaking and fishing, though. Only things of interest that I can think of is an Air Force/Navy base that's nearby (I've seen planes regularly running training exercises overhead) and an abundance of wildlife. Maybe lots of Mirelurks or new insectoids? Mr. Sully 03:26, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

Is that Andrews Air Force base your talking about? Or is it nowhere close to Lookout?

Nowhere close. Andrews is in Virginia. Point Lookout is on the Chesapeake Bay in eastern Maryland.
No, Andrews is definitely in Maryland. It abuts the Beltway to the southeast of DC. Went there often when I was in the USAF. But Mr. Sully is referring to Patuxent NAS, as he says below.
The place I was talking about is the Patuxent Naval Air Station. There's so little around the real world Point Lookout that I'm more inclined to believe that the (possible) DLC name has nothing to do with the state park. Mr. Sully 19:47, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
You have a point. "Point Look" could simply be a name designed to throw off curious gamers such as we.

Maybe we'll run into some soft shelled mirelurks. -DragonJTSLeave me a message 21:13, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

Maybe it will be something like "Call of Chtulhu: DCOH" without the supernatural/Mythos stuff. Since the guys at Bethsoft have already proven to be Lovecraft's fans, i bet my ass it will be something like that. Plus, on an interview devs said that the place wasn't directly nuked in 2077, so we can suppose that there will be 0-rad places to swim in?

From the description, this sounds like a cross between Ocean City and the real world Point Lookout, and I imagine there will be some underwater areas. I hope like hell they make it so you can hold your breath a bit longer. Mr. Sully 21:21, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Well, you can receive a couple of mutations in the game(Rad Regeneration and Barkskin), so why not one that lets you breath underwater? Fat Man Spoon 21:26, 19 May 2009 (UTC) Or they should make a power armor that you can breath under water with.

Even if it wasn't directly hit, it could still be irradiated, since it's near the mouth of an irradiated river.67.211.81.140 19:04, 25 May 2009 (UTC)Cavesloth

Take a look at it on Google Earth. There is a place there called "Treasure island". Oh, and a tiny hut named "Fort Lincoln". Fat Man Spoon 21:22, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

Commonwealth?[]

Its not in the commonwealth so quit asking.

Rumors[]

"It's been rumored that the this DLC will have to do with the Commonwealth. " by who? I can see no possible basis for this rumor. not only has it been stated that there it's unliekly and DLC will visit the commonwealth, but the name implies it's to be in Maryland. Sounds like a rumor created on the spot based on personal assumption. -DragonJTSLeave me a message 16:04, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

I'd agree with that, unless there is a website stating this, it's not a rumor, it's personal speculation.Cavesloth 16:40, 9 May 2009 (UTC)Cavesloth

PS3[]

I am literally LMAO right now. I figured that the announcement that it was coming to PS3 would put an end to all the "ARRG I HAVE A PS3 I WANT DLC DAMN YOU BETHESDA" whiners. little did expect this kind of reaction. too funny. 192.139.153.30 15:03, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I'd have to agree. Guess there's no pleasing everyone, no matter what you do, eh? 72.235.91.236 03:42, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

Somebody actually bought a $350 gaming console to play $30 worth of expansion packs? Why not just buy the PC version and install it on a computer? --162.119.240.100 16:50, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Because a $350 game console is cheaper than a $1200 gaming PC? Just a guess! 12.204.48.130 11:40, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
Dood, the rig I'm using right now plays at a higher quality than the PS3 can ever hope to churn out- it was 50 bucks cheaper, and I can use mods to infinitely enhance my Fallout 3 experience. Where the hell were YOU shopping for PCs?--Kajex Firedrake 12:31, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
You really wanna know? I recently priced a new hand-built system via Newegg, and it came to about $1,100 total without a monitor. I didn't end up buying it, but I had the help of an IT professional and I know the prices were good, so I doubt you could assemble a high-end system for much less. Still, if your PC does what you want it to, that's all that matters. Right now, I'm using a Dell. Bought an XPS rig and slapped a $300 video card in it (because the one it shipped with was crap). That was a couple years back, and it still runs any game I throw at it, so I'm happy with the system. Fallout 3 runs in 1680x1050 with everything cranked up to maximum and no slowdown (except for one or two locations in Rivet City, but that's only because I installed a high-res texture mod.) I probably paid about $1,700. (That includes a 22" widescreen LCD, mind you.) I'd be surprised if a $300 PC could do the same, when a decent video card alone costs about that much. Then again, prices have fallen sharply since I bought my system, and of course technology has improved. Still, I've had tons of good times with this rig, far more than my money's worth, so no regrets! 12.204.48.130 10:10, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
See, that's another thing- even if my current rig had cost 3 times as much as a PS3, I STILL get more enjoyment out of it than any other console. No outstanding worries about backwards compatibility, the ability to mod, surf the internet, listen to music and watch a variety of things (from DVD's, to youtube clips, cartoons and adult entertainment), fit the entire system to suit my needs and likes, and not have to worry all that much about playing tomorrow's generation of games since most can scale BACK to my rig's specifications, OR I could just put in a bit extra money for upgrades. For the record, I purchased all the parts separately- no prefabs, just had to shoot for the best deals as fast as could be done. And as a final note, I was able to score an nVidia 9800 GTX for about $150 during a sale. Didn't even need to upgrade the monitor from my LAST computer--Kajex Firedrake 16:18, 29 May 2009 (UTC).

Because then, his point is invalid. Fat Man Spoon 16:55, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

OP made me wake up my dog laughing. Thanks a lot. --96.243.180.70 04:09, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
Indeed, much ROFLing here. Thank you, OP. I needed that! :D 12.204.48.130 11:40, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
Didn't basically the same thing happen with Oblivion? Don't feel bad though. I waited for GTAIV to come out on PC and it runs like crap.

Dont overeact, it said that the addons are coming out for the 360 too, can you read?

You idiot i think he realsises its coming to 360 but he spent 300 hours and 350 bux on a 360 when he could have waited for it to be released on PS3

LOL! SandaeMax 02:24, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

Lookout Point History[]

Lookout Point was used as a prisoner of war camp during the Civil War. Not only that, but at times freed slaves were used to guard confederate prisoners. Now THAT would be an interesting story element, given slavery in the F3 world.--DreadPirateMurphy 18:19, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

I agree but I would find it even more likely/original if it was a camp of freed slaves with slaver prisonsers and thus the goal of the main story would be to protect them from the slavers. --160.227.21.1 17:45, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Travel[]

What I want to know is how in the world would you get to point lookout?

Does a guy want you to free his people?

Do the Outcast need more tech.?

I think you go there because docter li ran in to trouble and has gone missing and was last seen at point lookout

isnt commonwealth there?

SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD IDEA FOR THE STORY

Kimbles108

If dr. li is there i would go just for see how she gets eaten alive by something...DrMGinius 02:56, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

This has nothing to do with the Commonwealth what so ever. And you get there by boat.

What's the story?[]

I have reason to believe that the Commonwealth is located in Point Lookout (real world). Some people say that it has something to do with Doctor Li, but that's impossible seeing as how you can play this DLC right after you leave the Vault. In order for Doctor Li to leave to the Commonwealth, you must finish Broken Steel. Although, Doctor Li's appearance may be seen through a side quest. The story is most likely about eradicating a mutated species like that Crocodile you may see a few comments above me. Mirelurks are likely to appear seeing as how it is a swamp, but I don't know what Point Lookout features in real life so I am unaware of crab life. I just hope that followers can come with you. I spent an hour or so trying to obtain all the followers using the Dogmeat's puppy glitch. I could always do it again, but I must say I don't want to do it again. As you read this, you may be wondering when I am going to shut up (it seems like I've been writing this forever) but I'm just sharing my opinions. If anyone has confirmation of this DLC's features, please inform me. --FawkesGamer360 01:26, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

I just hope it is not some kind of radioactive Deliverance... Big McLargeHuge 01:45, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

I'll try to make this as clear as possible. The Commonwealth is in Massachusetts. Why? Because Bethesda said so. Point Lookout State Park is in Maryland. Massachusetts and Maryland are nowhere near each other. If you don't believe me go buy a map. It's a really simple concept.
Also, why would an institute of ultra-high-tech research be located in a country bumpkin setting? Furthermore... the place that the Androids came from was known as "The Institute"... Institute hinting at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. --MadCat221 19:46, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Well, about the story... I have no idea what kind of main quest could be there, but the overall style of the location makes great to use such sidequests as searching for a group of people all over the map, with everyone having their own doom of place. Maybe will see some sort of "Searching for Swamp-Thing" quest, with an unique monster stalking the place... would be great to have a misterious adversary SOMEWHERE...92.124.74.134 02:54, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Yes the mysterious boss character hades who is charon's older not brainwashed brother, they have a megatron starscream relationship. He created the institute before the bombs dropped in the on place no one would look a deep south redneck town. he's spent the last 100 years building a giant mutant mind controlled croc army. He has a Gauss Shotgun and a ShockSledgeHammer and alien modified T-51b armor but that all pales in comparasion to his chimera army (all of which are modfied to run off of flamer fuel which includes it's built in weapons which are mounted heavy incenerators and flamers.)that the crocs pilot and even more horrifying, his own Liberty prime but with extra power fists as hands and it's painted black and called Big O.Gwyllgi 00:01, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

Billy the hilly sends out a radio signal leading to the boat leading to point lookout, there you are attacked by hillfolk who say generations of inbreeding have made them immortal, you test that theory and kill them, while doing some other nonsensical quest you are required to pose as a hillfolk and infiltrate their top secret meetings, to prevent them dropping an armed a-bomb into the core of the earth, you seek out a tracker and kill him, then cut him open with a fireaxe and get inside him (power armor training required) you then pilot the corpse to the meeting, which is held at the mansion, which also is being attacked by tribals, after falling down a few floors you land in a basement where trackers and scrappers alike are dressed in crimson hooded robes, chanting some weird language, after owning them all you are told by some random person that it was a trap and that the bomb is actually being held at Elder Scrolls 4 cove (oblivion reference) you rush to the cove encountering hill folk and a guy in a civil war hat, and the odd repeating rifle being pointed at you by mutant mirelurkz, you gain entrance to the cove by bribing the guard with punga fruit (which is found on a tree a few meters away from him) he lets you in and you make your way to the bottom chamber, own Billy the hilly and then have two choices, blow up the bomb, and destroy the earth (reward: - 1000 karma + tenpenny tower suite) or disarm the bomb (reward: + 1000 karma and a pat on the back)

News for Olds[]

In the new DLC point look they need a new creature so i was thinking of 3 toughest creatures...

Deathclaw Yau Gai Mirelurk

Nothing special bout them maybe mirelurk but lets think about it.

for Yau Gai... Enclave Yau Gai like a normal one but with those enclave brain washers and dont attck enclave. TWO HEAD YAU GAI!!!!!! BEST THING EVER IT CAN STAND UP ON ITS BACK LEGS AND BETTER DAMAGE! good stuff....

for Mirelurk... Queen Mirelurk 4 claws same water blast from king and FAST

You weren't serious about the armoured-deathclaw-lasers were you? If you were, BAD gamer, BAD! Now, about the others, I would definatly like to see some new kinds of mirelurks in Maryland, maybe a whole new set of mirelurks especially for that place. And yea, Yao Guai scared the shit outta me when I first met them, but when you cap the level they are just a nuissance(?) so it would be nice with an upgrade, and I've been thinking "Deathclaw Babies!" since the announcement of the 3 DLC's. So what I'd like to see, since it's a miniwasteland, meaning respawns and random encounters, a new enemy faction, crazy hillbillies, swamp monster totally new yknow, and maybe some new form of mid-level molerat. Then I'm fine. We can't expect too much yknow, O:A gave 3 new, Spider Mines, Tank, Crimson Sniper, Pitt gave Trogs, BS gave 4 new. I don't think we'll get more than 4 new enemies. 81.234.140.17 10:25, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

no we dont need remakes although a hairy or talking death claw would be awesome ooh or maybe both? i just want the perk that allows me to get better at small guns the more beer i drink that one has to come from this dlc!

Please never make an enemy suggestion without doing a little RESEARCH first. Talking deathclaws aren't farfetched because they ALREADY EXIST(ed). Seriously if you don't believe me look up Goris or Gruthar on this wiki. Plus how are deathclaws in a swamp going to function well in metal armor?? I figure they'll rust it up and won't be able to move. Jose Payne

Dude seriously do some research before you talk, its total 2nd degree embarassment man!

picture?[]

did you guys see that picture on the page for point lookout it looks like the king kong game

I does lol

But that also looks like PIRATES!!!! Pretty much sea raider but im guessing there may be pirates here --Kirby888 20:12, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

also it says in stores august and then it says its ganna be released late june? im waiting another 2 months!

eird, i dont reckonize the clothes and the weapon the mans wearing. are you guys sure it is really made by bethesda and not fan made!!!!!!

By august it means when they release it on disc

It will be in stores in August. It will be available for download in June.--173.25.42.122 18:23, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

The clothes are obviously new and the weapon is a hunting rifle. --217.120.177.188 09:47, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Dude, it's not, compare the two, their model is not the same. The barrel is wider and longer than that of a hunting rifle. I'm 81.234.140.17, Adjust. 18:19, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
Old-school shotgun get? Wanderer Lao 05:08, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

The enemies look scary, from what I've seen by pictures. They use axes and shovels, and look even more deformed than feral ghouls and Trogs. This can be interesting... If only there is a chainsaw! AngryNorwegianDude 20:58, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

They remind me of The Hills Have Eyes, and the buildings fit in with Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I'm surprised, the setting captures the grotesque eeriness of a deep South swamp, rather than seeming like some coastal boardwalk. I guess I shouldn't be that surprised, Maryland is right next to Virginia. Also, anyone notice the Confederate soldier hat in one of the screenshots? I wonder what other Civil War treats there will be. 74.215.114.200 21:13, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

That logo looks like a childs game. Unless it is to depict hillbillies lol. //--TehK 13:40, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

The logo looks more like something of Scooby-Doo or the Goonies--KieranBOS 18:37, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

HalfLife2[]

Does anyone feel a Ravenholme sort of style? It sure as hell reminds me of that level and boy does that make my skin crawl.

Yeah looks bit like Ravenholm it's possible they will add someone like Father Gregori Johnypl 03.06.2009

It would be awesome if there were headcrabs in Fallout. --TheFrogger 20:21, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

It would be fucking stupid. Fat Man Spoon 20:26, 6 June 2009 (UTC)]
You say that about everything --TheFrogger 21:04, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
It's just headcrabs are one of the two reasons why I can't be bothered to go back to Halflife 2. Fat Man Spoon 21:08, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

Are you kidding me? This is nothing close to Ravenholm. Ravenholm is like a boarded up city with zombies walking around. This feels more like The Hills Have Eyes but instead it takes palce in a swamp

Some trailer... well, messages[]

Just to confirm it to myself, the trailer is even more awesome than the one for the Pitt. This might be the best expansion yet. But...

I the last five second of the trailer (as the credits fade into darkness and the hillbilly music goes away), there is a voice that says something. Problem is, I can't decipher what it is!

It sounds something like: "Howdy!" or "Hey, you!" spoken in a thick hillbilly accent. Can anyone take a look at it and enlighten me? AngryNorwegianDude 12:16, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

To answer your question, I'm 95% sure he says "We'll... get...YOU!" SuSpence95 12:28, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

Aha. Interesting... Hillfolk dialogue, perhaps? AngryNorwegianDude 12:29, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

Nice envirnoment on the trailer, but the enemies look boring. Deformed humans... AGAIN! Come on! We've already got ghouls, super mutants, centaurs and troggs. I want mutant crocodiles!--81.151.119.67 13:51, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
If you've noticed in the trailer, the player appears to be using Lincoln's repeater. But have you considered that if they have a Civil War hat added, then that may not actually be Lincoln's repeater? Also confirmed that it does say "We'll ... get ... you!"Master1337cheeZ 16:10, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

not necceseraly lincoln's repeater, if you compare it you see a difference in plating, lincoln's reapeater is gold plated 62.163.88.139 17:24, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

It's proberly just a regular repeater. Fat Man Spoon 17:27, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

Perks[]

Got any ideas what perks will be in this DLC?

No, but it looks to me like the Hillfolk are just Hillbillies that have been in-breeding for a couple hundred years, seasoned with a bit of radiation. It would account for the deformities at the very least.

--117649AnnihilativeRepentance 01:04, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Indeed. The only confirmed perk is Bog Walker. AngryNorwegianDude 06:08, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

tribal[]

I was thinking, since theirs tribals in this Dlc,will there be spears? Werewolfhell 17:07, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

I'm thinking that the term 'Tribal' is being used in a derogatory way, like how the Outcasts refer to ordinary folk. Fat Man Spoon 17:11, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
Or the way i refer to the idiotic citizens of the republic of dave Werewolfhell 17:12, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
let's try something... Who wants spears? Fat Man Spoon 17:20, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

They are not that kind of tribals.

Hidden Treasure?[]

I've heard some talk about some treasure inside the Old Calvert Mansion. Does anybody think that the treasure could be obtained? Because they said tribals keep trying to get to it. So it must be important. Maybe there could be awesome weapons? Maybe a unique double barreled shotgun. Vault 77 Dweller 01:58, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

The hidden treasure is believed to be the Punga fruit, a more potent way to dispense with rads (unknown if by rad resistance or rad purging, likely the latter). --MadCat221 02:05, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

Great an organic infirmary. If I wanted to get rid of my rads id just goto home and use it. big whoop who wants a freakin fruit as treasure. maybe a mutant repellent...nah or some chemical/fruit to tame yao guai/deathclaws? 90.198.53.206 14:56, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

What if there is no treasure? It may be just a myth among the Tribals. Fat Man Spoon 14:58, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

Thats what I was thinking too. Don't get your hopes up people. Vault 77 Dweller 15:21, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

Or get your hopes up and use that as a reason to batter even more Tribals with a shovel. //--Run4urLife! 20:59, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

Maybe the Treasure is an unique Shovel which is believed by tribals to be possessed by Spirit of Death! This time we could not only kill, but also bury enemies! 92.124.90.128 04:49, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

Story[]

So does anyone exactly know what the story in lookout is suppose to be,I mean are we saving someone or getting the hillbillies a cure for something. Stupid idea for special double barrel it should be called "THE BOOMSTICK".LTHENSON 06:36, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

oooh[]

I watched the trailer, this looks awesome I cant wait for the disk for it to come out. I think I might have a bit of a frightening time playing this it looks so creepy. The theme park looks just so creepy as well. i'm startin to creep myself out by saying creepy too much... Mr snip 11:44, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

FireAxe[]

At 00:29 in the official trailer there is a tribal wielding a longer axe, possibly a fireaxe, it's not a sledge-hammer, and I hardly think it's the same one's that the gargantua hillfolk used. I'm 81.234.140.17, Adjust. 12:07, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

Um, it's just a sledgehammer, sorry. Fat Man Spoon 12:10, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

lol i thought it would have been an axe that was on fire! 90.221.49.222 18:32, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

Haunting Civil War?[]

In the trailer on E3 it was creepy in a awesome way what i saw is a moving boat so you prolbaly go there by boat. Swamp of course obvious. Haunted mansion. The lone Wanderer in a civil war outfit so im guess that comment up there about the civil camps is right and weird zombie people that look like civil war zombies. fat guy with axe.

They are not Civil war zombies. First of all they are not zombies and they are not ghouls. They are just mutated and inbred "Hillfolk". And this is based in an area that never really had much new things put in since the Civil war that is why they have things like that.

shovel[]

i saw that early post about treasure well what about you dig up the treasure with the shovel if there is tressure and then in the treasure chest is hopefully a super good weapon and armor and some awesome items

That is very unlikely for the fact that the shovel is used as a weapon. And to get scripts to allow you to actually dig with that shovel are way to complicated for the fallout engine. As it would require a switch from weapon to useable item. Which is impractical for a game company to waste their time on.

Side-quest Ferris Wheel[]

In one of the interviews they said that one of the side-quests or perhaps unmarked quests was repairing machinery like the ferris wheel, what reward do guys think we'll get from it? Free rides? A weapon or clothing which was stuck at the top? Hope You've adjusted, I'm Gabriel 13:10, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

A teeny tiny ferris wheel model. Or a giant teddy bear. Or a free play. Or a duck... Fat Man Spoon 23:37, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

A ferris wheel mount, or just some xp and a "repaired" ferris wheel that doesn't do anything.--92.234.175.62 21:12, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

I'm guessing you'll be able to see something of interest from the top. The view alone might be worth repairing it. 70.20.22.140 15:42, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

It sounds very good[]

--Martistan 04:08, 15 June 2009 (UTC)Point lookout is a very good dlc. I hope when it comes out it will be the best one. I quess it will be! It have the MAIN advantage of the original game: free exploration + a good story (as it seems now, at least). Maybe, if Beth decide to make more DLC after Mothership Zeta, they will stick to formula "new big explorable area" - could be great. Master Mold 15:59, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Fallout New Vegas will be launched after Mothersip Zeta and Bethesda are going to continue develop Fallout 4, so there won't be any more DLC --Kalalokki 17:17, 16 June 2009 (UTC)(Actually one of the developers commented that they do not know if Mothership Zeta will be the last dlc)

I am afraid to watch the video. I'm not frightened, but I don't want to ruin what looks like an amazing gaming experience for myself. I did that with Bioshock, and I'll never do that again. I can't wait to rock the "proper" shotgun (I still don't understand why Beth included a sawnoff without a regular shotgun...) and lever action rifle :D LJ Carrion 22:19, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Suprisingly it doesn't ruin much of it what so ever. It is mostly a "indepth" teaser. I can't wait for this to come out.

well it appears that the walking with the sprits will be kinda like the spirit boss fight in MGS3 snake eater where you faced every one you killed before that point in the game or mabye it is more straight forward and its just an embodiement of the vaulties fear of loseing the few people he/she has left.

Sounds like some epic fun. I finally watched it. I can't wait lol! LJ Carrion 12:40, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

More gameplay/spoilers here.[]

I managed to find another video revealing exclusive point lookout "stuff". Apparently this one is filled with spoilers so I've been too scared to watch it. Anyone else is welcome to jeapordize their gaming experience by watching this video and perhaps helping the wiki. Don't come crying to me if this vid reveals all plot twists/spoilers. You have been warned. Amorality 14:05, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Turns out it's mostly stuff we already know. The first 40-50 secs explain what you have to do in each quest. Turns out there are 7 locations in Point Lookout for the Bog Walker achievment. A few new npcs and weapons that we already know about and that's it really. Amorality 14:10, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

That... was everything we already know. Save for, likem one piece of info, that may or may not be true. Wanderer Lao 14:13, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Bog Walker is a shitty achievment. Worse than Mill Worker. How hard can it be to find all 7 locations? Would take max 10 minutes... I hoped it was going to be more. >.> Gabriel Cortez 14:48, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Mill Worker was... tiresome, to say the least. But, even though there are only 7 locations, the size of the place is supposed to be about 1/4 of the Capital Wastes. There's hopefully alot of danger between each location, so that it isn't like when you wander the Wastes now. I'm thinking ambush. Wanderer Lao 15:33, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
1/5 of the CW map. Gabriel Cortez 16:34, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

bobblehead[]

I found a bobble head out in the middle of the swamp on the way back right next to the great punga fruit the bobblehead said Schmault-Tec Limited Edition bobblehead and says walked into another trap exactly how stupid are you

Has anyone noticied that all energy weapons do more 5 DM? Even if I am moving, if you know what I mean.

The bobbleheads are part of the crazy hallucination the 5 dmg is probably from standing still, from that perk

Just beat the add-on[]

its pretty cool but short...

I got the backwater but need to raise caps to go on the safari to get the Dismemberer or whatever its called (yes i still have caps problems at level 16...) The Whole Punga seed hallucination part really freaked me. Somebody told me this add-on was supposed to be hard but i guess they were wrong.

No it's actually a toy knife but it did like 6 damage at ~30% condition. Not sure if it's meant to be used with the pint-sized mask. Amorality 13:59, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
Oh and by the way, it turns out there are approximately 30 locations in Point Lookout (marked and unmarked). I guess everyone will be happy I was wrong on this account ;] Amorality 13:58, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

I just hope that fuckin lever rifle IS chambered for 10mm rounds...otherwise it will be useless nand only the backwater version will be better Butter 17:21, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
It probably is 10mm. The majority of the other info is turning out correct. Nitpicker of the Wastes 17:23, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
If it is...then lincols repeater will just go back in its case at the musuem of history....you know...ive started noticing some cliches in these addons: like the all powerful armor thing

Okay im getting freaked out in point lookout. i got to a huge plant i needed to to get to for walking with spirts. i started a halloucination and am seeing giant bobble heads, exploding nuka colas and red jum ping frogs. anything else so i know whats coming?

I found the bones of a terranasaurus rex underwater, beneath a buoy that is South-West of the Ark and Dove Cathedral. There are boxes and a safe around it.

If you check under all the buoys you will find various stuff (one nr the landing you will find a mini nuke under a box). PJ

Bugs?[]

Knowing bethesda's track record with DLC, I'm currently waiting to download this addon. Anyone heard of any game/save-breaking bugs with this DLC yet? I dont want another The Pitt happening to me >.> WouldYouKindly 16:47, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

No save ruins yet, but during a certain point in A Meeting of the Minds, a graphical set-piece screws the ground over, and I'm stuck jerking and cliping through the ground. Maybe it's just me, hopefully will be fixed soon. It's a game-breaker. Nitpicker of the Wastes 17:07, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

The only bug ive found is with the scar hairstyle is supposed to not let you wear the headgear you equipped during the surgery. Yet with the Winterized TB-51 Power Armor Helmet this does not occur --Attnet 06:06, 24 June 2009 (UTC)attnet

Occasionally a glowing square will appear around my character, It's about 10 by 10. It's only visible over water though. Any water within the square will be bright white. Also some Point Lookout characters don't seem to have opening dialogue when spoken to. For example Tobar just stares at me blankly when I engage in dialogue. It it sits for a few secs it will continue to my speech options. Berkbelts 18:07, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

I've been having the game freeze about every ten minutes while in Point Lookout. It's happened to me three times now.

The freezing happens to me too, but it happens to me almost every hour or so

Frozen three times for me. Seems to be the laggiest DLC for Fallout, but also my favorite. I got really bad FPS at one point too. Berkbelts 05:56, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

It seems like when bethesda made this they had a very bad internet conection., freezes everytime i fight some hicks, or try to find places.Lenov 18:26, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

I had really bad problems with this addon. lagg and lock ups forcing me to power cycle my PS3. every 15 mins or so!. Made it almost unplayable. I was level 24 at the time. I had similar(but not as frequent) problems with 'The pitt' and 'Broken steel' as well. However, I tried this addon as a much lower level, and got NO problems whatsoever. So I began to suspect it might be because of too much stuff in my inventory (I'd built up loads of stuff, especially zero weight like ammo or aid)..(possibly stack overflow?, or unchecked unbounded arrays being used and not resetting). SO, I went back to my level 24 character and stored as much as I could in my megaton house , just keeping Three fav weapons and a minimum amout of ammo/aid etc. and guess what..no lock ups or glitching, even after completing the whole addon. maybe its just me, but if anyone else who is having problems, maybe could try this and see if it works for them Thanks 86.153.175.155 17:21, December 20, 2009 (UTC)

Isla Negra Real Estate Company[]

Using what little spanish I learnt in high school, I'm rather sure Isla Negra translate to Isle of Black or something. Isle of Black? Black Isle. When I noticed this I burst out laughing. Anyone else think this is intentional? If it is, this is genius on Besthesda's part. 90.214.72.77 19:35, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

Where can you find this Isla Negra? Ausir 02:06, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
Isla Negra is mentioned on a few terminals, and I think it is some sort of energy-real estate thing. I'm pretty sure Bysshe also has something to do with it. There could be some connection... Nitpicker of the Wastes 16:23, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
Isla Negra are also mentioned one of the loading screens. In fact, the first loading screen I got upon enetering Point Lookout was this Isla Negra one. There's a terminal in the Point Lookout Peoples Bank which mentioned the real estate company as well Bald Eagle Brennan 00:23, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

what are all the marked locations on the game??

Ruzka the Wonder Bear[]

As seen on posters on the ferry boat ont he way to look out point, Ruzka can be found as a yui gao (of however you spell it) west north west outside the map boarder. Along with various weapons and ammo he has an oversized red ball. He was friendly to me but I have the animal perk on. Please confirm

I'll try and trek out there some time soon. Thanks for the tip! LJ Carrion 04:07, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

he is hostile for me, but i don't got the animal friend perk, so i think he is like all the other yuai gao (wth is this thing spelled?), the only difference is that he got a name (drops only yao guai meat)

Could you post a screenshot of your pipboy map and put a marker on the EXACT location? I really hate searching for stuff, and I really wanna see this. Thank you JimmyBassatti 19:23, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

We shit thee not. It does exist. Ruzko's in a cave to the northwest of the t top hird soil sample location for the An Antique Land quest. Nitpicker of the Wastes 19:34, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

I believe you. But I hate searching. JimmyBassatti 19:36, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Just follow the river. From the sample site, to the northwest. And keep a weapon ready. Ruzko isn't very friendly. Nitpicker of the Wastes 19:43, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Ruzka is on the top left corner of the map, you cannot miss him once you arrive. also, he has more hp than normal yao gua's but I am not sure how much more hp he bears. If you have a high level character he will try to flee and he will not attempt to attack you. shadwknght@live.com

Lag?[]

Has anybody else been getting slight lag scrolling through items/going into VATs and in general?

I have.

I have worse then you can imagine. Another case of Q&A at bethesda. If bethesda had quality Q&A, this addon never would of came out. The major crashes, freezes and lags makes it ALMOST unplayable.--216.176.21.131 00:43, February 16, 2012 (UTC)

Damage[]

Is it just me or do most enemies in the DLC do ludicrous amounts of damage, even with their melee weapons? I'm at L30 and 76% DR and even tribals with axes or combat knives take significant chunks out of my health with every swing. Do they ignore damage resistance or something? 202.156.13.226 05:47, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

They do deal insane amounts of damage, I found myself ripping through a stock of 98 stimpaks in the entire main quest,The tribals brought me down from 410 to 150 Hp in 6 hits. And for some reason the Backwater can one shot mirelurk hunters but it takes a whole clip to kill a tribal i guess it was because of people complaining about how easy OA and The Pitt were (me being one of them). But in my opinion this add-on is still easy. But with scrappers dealing 50 DMG with baseball bats and bear traps ripping a chunk of 200 health away Bethesda obviously tried to amp up the difficulty. (I have a DR of 78 BTW if you really wanted to know)--Attnet 06:01, 24 June 2009 (UTC)Attnet

When tribals and hillbillies are tougher than power armored Enclave troops, this game is seriously unbalanced. Ausir 09:06, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Crap, no wonder. There's an effect called DLC04NonPlayerDamageAdd in the GECK that applies to ALL of the weapons tribals and swampfolk use (NPC versions of the non-expansion weapons and the double-barrel/lever rifle/axe/shovel) that makes them do +35 damage if used against the player. Not fun. 202.156.13.226 14:59, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Should the +35 damage be added to the main article?

increased DMG ratings on weapons?[]

Insert non-formatted text here

Maybe this is some old thing or theres something im not considering, or some fact im ignorant about, but why after downloading point lookout do most of my weapons have higher DMG ratings on them? Vengeance has more than 350, the terrible shotgun is now up to 94 and almost every other weapon is increased, either alot or at least a little. Can someone explain? what dumb thing am i missing?

Why are you moaning, now i wont get owned so badly by reavers

wiki problem[]

Hey, I'm having fun with point lookout and all, but when I check the wiki I can only see really old versions of the pages. For example, on this discussion page, the most recent comment I see is titled "It's officially", but if I check the history I can see a lot more comments. I tried clearing my browsing histories and tried different browsers but nothings working. It's kinda annoying because I have to click history for each point lookout page I want to visit. Anyone else have this problem and anyone know how to fix it?

Nvm, everything is updated now. Sounds like I had the same problem as some guy above me.

The best way of fixing it is to register. For registered users, the wiki cache is refreshed more quickly than for anonymous ones. Ausir 09:07, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Yeah it's great, my xuanlong assault rifle does 118 Damage. Anonymous

Talk Page should be cleaned up[]

The talk page needs to be cleaned up to remove anything not talking about the article, especially people saying "I need help" Jayross 09:45, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Instead of deleting stuff from the page, just move it to the archive page. Ausir 10:00, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
I think people need to be able to ask questions here, because that's how the wiki gets improved, isn't it? If someone can't figure out how to complete a quest, for example, doesn't that mean that the article for that quest doesn't contain enough info? Just my two caps... I'll shut up now.  :)12.204.48.130 07:05, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Removing the big list at the start of the article[]

The list of enemies, items, etc seems a bit out of place, shouldn't that be removed?Jayross 09:45, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Why should it? This list of new features is probably the primary thing people come to this article for. Ausir 09:47, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
Is it possible to put them in a collapsible list or something like that? Jayross 09:51, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
Okay after looking at some other pages I changed my mind.Jayross 09:55, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Goodies under the buoys[]

For some reason I dove under one of the buoys out in the water and there were some containers with various things in them, and so far every other buoys i've dove under has had stuff there too, so make sure you look!

Submarine[]

Does anyone have any information on how to get the credentials to self-destruct the submarine? It's located underwater just about half-way between the lighthouse and the pier. I can't seem to find anything anywhere. 98.183.243.16 19:19, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

Added this back, as it's not "asking for help" in the sense of the game as Jayross suggested, so much as it is asking for assistance in gaining enough information on the so-far unlisted location in Point Lookout to make its own article. 98.183.243.16 15:44, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
It's part of the Side-quest The Velvet Curtain which begins in room 1D of the motel.Berkbelts 17:08, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
I just realized recently that this might be the case, thought without seeing the submarine as a listed location, I figured it might be just something on the side. Very well. Thanks anyway. 98.183.243.16 17:29, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Map[]

maybe it's possible for one of you to create a map for the point lookout area such as the map of the capital wasteland? http://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Fallout_3_map <<this one is the one i mean

i think it'll be very helpfull to locate the locations

i have all the locations but im trying to put the map together, it's very difficult, any suggestions?

Friendly On Pier Roof or Stuck on Building[]

Not sure if this is a bug or what, but there's a friendly marker in the center of a cluster of buildings to the right of the Wonder Wheel. It might be an animal because I have Animal Friend perk. If you're facing The Jerk restaurant it's slightly to the right on my radar. Anyone else see this? Where it is seems unreachable. Berkbelts 17:56, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Yes I've seen this too.

Is it Panada (Vendor from the House of Wares) or her Protectron? 76.203.24.15 21:12, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

I found the answer while reading about Calvert. Apparently Bethesda had to have an actual NPC in place of Calvert's brain. So they put this NPC in an unreachable Pulowski Shelter between the buildings. Kinda strange... Berkbelts 04:22, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

i managed to climb up there by stacking a bunch of junk against the wall, and sure enough there was a shelter. The game wont let you open it though, and once you go up there you fall through the roof and cant get back out.I advise saving before hand if anyone wants to see it.

New Bear Enemy[]

I would make the entry myself, if I had any idea how...

Hey, slightly south of the map's far upper left corner there's a small path leading beyond the left map parameters.

At the end of the path there's a "Ruzka", a strong yao guai and it's den. I had just used a dartgun on a ghoul reaver; which came over an killed the thing. The body of the Ruzka has normal Yao Guai meat. I have not checked to see if it re-spawns or if it is a one time encounter.

The den has a number of components, and a comically large red rubber ball.

The Ruzka is shown in one of the loading scenes, suggesting I'm not completely full of it.

Yep. He's Ruzko, the wonder-bear. The flyers say Ruzka, but my cursor over his corpse says "Search Ruzko". However, he's no stronger than normal. I may have spoken too soon on the lack of Swamp Guai. Nitpicker of the Wastes 19:36, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

The New weapons[]

Just to make sure every one is on the same page I am in no way trying to downsize any of the weapons. Just putting in my thoughts. Please be free to correct me or add on at will. : )

. Axe: Ok weapon with fair damage, I my self don't use it much but the Dismemberer is Fun. (Good for melee characters, if any.)

. Lever Rifle: I like it due to the ammo type only downside is the fairly great use of AP points. Haven't been using the backwater that much so if someone could please explain the difference besides damage.

. Bio- Gas Canaster fun toy no use due to low numbers. (I play on Xbox.)

. Double Barrel shotgun: My personal favorite, only two problems quick degrade and no special version. WHY BETHESDA!!?

. Shovel: Same to me as the axe just fun.

. Microwave Emitter: Fun if you want to hear that constant " Quiiing"!! other than that it kinda takes a back seat.

P.S. Yes i know this is not a complete list only a basic so please be free to add other weapons. ( That was my first post ever. GO MEE!!!) ( Unlonely Wanderer)

There isn't much of a difference between the Backwater and normal version aside from damage and magazine capacity but overall the Backwater is one of the best Small Guns in the game due to its all-around good stats plus using the most common form of ammo in the game aside from .32 Cal.
You have a chance to acquire a unique shovel during the main quest that causes 4 damage (possibly scripted as poison) for 10 seconds. At level 30 with all available perks to boost my base damage, the weapon did 30 base damage as well.
Agreed regarding the DB Shotgun. The high damage just doesn't make up for the short range, fast degradation, and single shot use. The Gauss rifle has better health, damage, and range than the DB shotgun.
Again agreed regarding the Microwave Emitter. Reloading is fairly slow and its bulkiness makes it difficult to aim in first person.

i like it... so far[]

i think this is one of bethsdea better DLC. they really hit the setting they wanted and delivered a different experience.and they cleaned up most of the bugs.this is one of my faviorte so far. what do you guys think?--That70sdude 03:49, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

i think this was a FUN dlc for the quest and some of the locations BUT they added like nothing new !!! on the long dobble barrle shot gun it has the line were they scripted the rest of the barrel on ! .... all is good tho

i think it was supposed to be more of adventurous dlc other than a weapon pack(the pitt). --That70sdude 03:24, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Secret Loot![]

Im kinda a big scavenger so i get bored and explore every inch of things and noticed there are a significant ammount of loot south of the pier dip under water! So far my best find has been near the southwest corner of the map is a large sunken ship with a safe (easy lock) with some good loot in it. I will update this if i find any more easter eggs!--ArickECA 06:46, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Also to the very edge west due south of Dove Delta is a booey (sp?) right underneath it is another sunken ship. More to come :) btw a little help from those who dont know... it helps if u swim half way above and below the water and that way u can see crystal clear through the water. --ArickECA 06:46, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

the booey behind the pier, AND the booey northeast of USS Ozymandias have a chest, crate, med crate etc...Ive noticed a pattern... where there is a booey... theres loot! and as i type north of the boeey northwest of the USS Ozy is another booey... this one the best so far... underneathe is a rifle and a chest full of loot and two ammo crates and a T-Rex skeleton, no significance just kinda neat, then north of that booey and west of the Grotto is another booey and underneath, you guessed it, somemore loot.

--ArickECA 06:46, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Can you post a pic of the t-rex skeleton

also when you dig with your shovel and try to find treasure at the very end there is a footlocker with 20 pre war money and other stuff also when you do the quest the velvet curtain theres atleast 20 ammo cases with ammo in it in the secret chinese hide out with chinese guns and the backwater rifle

Dumb jokes[]

There are some dumb jokes being inserted into many Point Lookout articles. In the Calvert Mansion entry for instance: "Never side with someone who cut out a piece of your brain. Rule 1 of adventuring."

In the Safari entry: "Of course if you simply want to have some fun zombie killing, bring a Lincoln's repeater, Shotgun, Fatman, Nuka Grenades, Auto-Ax (or any of their variants), or the possibly most appropriate option...the Fertilizer Shovel, if you have it, and send those zombies back to their graves!"

This is more of an issue with the style of many of the entries. It seems someone thinks they have a great sense of humor and have been adding corny little jokes in each of the entries. They're unfunny, and look quite tacky. I'm not saying this has to be the Encyclopedia Brittannica with perfect entries, just saying we can hold off on the banter a little bit. I have a feeling that most of it trying to remove them would result in the author just re-posting the old jokes again.

At least we should chastise the author for confusing ghouls with zombies.--Gregmeat 20:58, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Agreed. Nitpicker of the Wastes 13:37, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
I have a feeling that there's going to need to be a lot of clean-up in a week or two, because I foresee there being a lot of "This may be a reference to..." entries that got out of control for a while. Again, I don't want to come off as a humorless prick, but I saw another entry in the Croatoa article that is basically a giant paragraph going on about 100 Bullets when there seems to be no connection to the comic at all. I've decided to create a legitimate account now instead of anonymous editing so I can get a little more participation in the community here. --Gregmeat 20:58, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Lets talk Double Barrel[]

So what do you people think of the double barrel comparted to the other shotguns.

My personal belief is that all shotguns have a crazy degrade, and that my favorite two would be the double barrel and the Terrible shotgun. These two go for the gold with damage but both degrade fast and the major falt is that you have to wait for enimies to get close to use the DB. (Unlonely Wanderer)

Actually, The DB shotgun can have pretty good range. I got a one hit kill with a sneak critical attack from the DB shotgun from one end of the jefferson memorial to the other. 85.244.134.115 20:54, 25 June 2009 (UTC) (Bald Eagle Brennan)

I preferred the Terrible Shotgun. But then i stuffed it in one of my Megaton House lockers and according to the game that container didin't belong to me... And then some NPC (i gave up the search a while ago) took it. But the DB is pretty good. I sneak attacked an Enclave soldier from about the distance of the rivet city bridge. Didn't stand a chance >:)--FatMan9000 04:56, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

i didnt like it. how it reloaded drove me insane and the range isnt that good. its ok but not good. i rarther go with the terriable shotgun--That70sdude 03:27, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

The double barrel is great for a character with high sneak and high small guns. I really like it. It's not great agianst hordes of strong enemies but for small groups it's almost perfect.

Enemy Spawn Points[]

I have been running into a lot of ambushes lately, and am wondering if any of you have run into the same thing. I was standing on top of the crashed jet and I felt like stopping for a while. I did a quick spin to make sure there were no enemies (Perception 9). There were none, so I saved my game. Later, when I loaded it, I immediately heard a feral ghoul hiss. I turned around and saw 3 Feral Ghoul Reavers spread out about 20 meters from me (well within my Perception range). I easily dispatched them using nearby derilict vehicles. Also, I was approaching the Trapper's Shack and killed about 6 assorted Hillfolk guarding it. I then went into the basement and spent about two minutes in there. When I came out there was about ten Hillfolk guarding the front of the house, I successfully snuck away instead of fighting them. Are these ambushes random, scripted, or complete coincidences?

I dunno about the Feral one, but the Trapper Shack Basement exit ambush seems scripted. Every time I leave that basement, BAM! Bruisers beating down the door. Nitpicker of the Wastes 17:19, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
Last time i went there i had to use the experimental Mirv at close range in vats to save my skin Butter 17:21, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
I noticed many of these ambushes as well. They seem to be random, and mostly involve Hillfolk and Ghouls. I got ambushed by no less than ten ghouls at once on the way to the Tribal Headquarters, and am frequently ambushed by Hillfolk when leaving places like shacks and the burial site.--Gregmeat 20:59, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Really? that kind of stuff has never happened to me. Well i assume it's time to head to the Trapper Shack basement...--FatMan9000 04:50, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

The first time I left the 'Trapper basement', I almost stepped on about seven of eight mines, all laid out in from f the hatch in a semi circle. There was also a number of 'swampfolk' just standing within my perception range. I swear it was like something out of a horror movie... 81.155.18.124 08:16, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

This is the original poster, by the way. I also noticed an obscene amount of ghouls in and around the Military Detention Center from the main quest. Thera was about 5 Reavers, 5 Glowing Ones, 6 Roamers, 3 Swamp Ghouls, and 2 regulars. This was not an ambush, because they did not appear out of nowhere, but it is still a testament to the increased difficulty of the addon. This was an extremely long fight, I must have used about 50 grenades.

Well you guys are freakin lucky, what I have to do is go back and forth from Point Lookout to CW for the folks respawn... I mean...WTH?!?!?! I keep wandering Point Lookout and all I find is NOTHING....NOTHING!!!!

I found that I was resorting to heavy weapons to try and clear the mobs. I was ambushed comming out of the ritual site basement (pre book quest) to find what I thought to be a cleared area to be an area filled with mutants. Run and gun is all I can do. Anyone else find themselves treating them more like super mutants rather than normal people? I mean, even Super Mutants die with a rocket to the chest -.-. Mc Scarlett

The Brain in one of those shelters[]

Ok I was tryin to get up on the buildings on the boardwalk, and glitched through one of them, there is one of those cylinder shaped shelters there, and inside there is "The Brain" a friendly npc on the map, I was on 360 so I coulden't glitch through to him and I coulden't open it either. Gabriel Cortez 18:16, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Look in the "Glitch" section of the Professor Calvert entry (spoilers if you haven't the Calvert mansion quest chain). It's all explained there. It's most likely there so the character can converse with you during the Meeting of the Minds quest.

a Damage Problem with PL[]

Guys i brought down a mirelurk with a single 10mm shot, Yet my Gauss Rifle takes 10 shots to kill the same exact creature... I can tell bethesda screwed up big time--FatMan9000 04:47, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

The brain is unconsious glitch?[]

occasionally after ive completed the main quest and killed the brain and let desmond live, the game occasionally says "The brain is unconsious" anyone else get this?

There's actually a second brain on the roof of a building near the ferris wheel. It seems like it's meant as more of a way for the brain to talk to you when you go out there to plant the transmitter.

LOL.... well, if that "other" brain is the cause, and you're seeing a message saying, "The Brain is unconscious," then I guess an NPC / monster managed to find it and beat it senseless, despite the fact that Bethesda tried to hide it out of sight. Since it's apparently marked as essential, and since monsters can get to it to attack it, I would say be prepared to see that message a lot! 12.204.48.130 08:12, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

The add-ons for PS3 will be coming out later, they will come with the Game Of The Year Edition. You can also get them on the PS3 Marketplace, whatever that's called (I'm an Xbox player myself). SplittingTheAtom 22:24, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

A freezing bug...[]

Every time I get in any of the rooms in the motel or any of the tents near the motel my game frezees and I have to close it... Why this happens? Is there something I can do to fix it? --Alex Longclaw 17:18, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

I removed a completly useless and unhelpful reply here.

I have a similar problem with this. The game feezes at random locations, or I get very laggy frame rates. Sometimes it doesnt happen for a couple of hours, other times its like every 15 mins or so. Its incredibly annoying and has ruined what could have been a great addon for me. I note that this problem is fairly commonplace, (i googled it). I have the GOTY edition, purchased at the start of december. These problems have been reported ever since the addon was released. why the hell don't Bethesda do something about it. If you are one of those who dont have problems, great for you..however, a substantial number DO and I think its a very poor show by Bethesda. I do not have any problems with all the other games I have played on my PS3, just these addons. The pitt gives me similar problems, although not as often. 86.153.175.155 13:57, December 15, 2009 (UTC)

I get the exact same problems with my PS3 GOTY edition. Ended the game for me as i cant progress any further due to 'fatal game freezes'.

Swamp Explosion[]

I don't know if this should be mentioned or not but the little balls that pop out of the swamps are flammable. If you shoot one with a shotgun they explode. Do an ok amount of damage too.

Could be ment to be bubbles of methane or another organic compound. It would seen likley becuase the stuff forms almost everywhere adn even more so around decaying things (witch PL has lots of :) ). Could test it with other wepons, but there really isnt a point. Might help with taking out those revars though! --J.J.-Lopez (too lazy and tired to sign in)

Lol, Methane in older times was called "Swamp Gas" so... yeah, wouldnt surprise me

Difficulty[]

I don't know about anyone else, but I did Point Lookout at level 17-18. My brother had played it in his mid 20s, and said tribals and stuff were really hard. I blew through this with a tiny bit of sneaking in the stealth suit and a quick trigger finger on some of the new weapons. It wasn't that hard. I don't know why everyone said it is. I am also playing on the normal difficulty. Am I doing something wrong?

Backspace-Yao-Guai 01:18, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

Are you getting shot? Like, a lot? Spoon 01:22, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

It seems like i'm getting shot a good amount. I watched my brother play it, not using stealth at all, burning through stimpacks and gettting shot just as much as me. I think I died once in the whole DLC, and that was because I was being dumb.

Backspace-Yao-Guai 01:31, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

So play on Very Hard and don't use the stealth suit.

I play games to have fun, not to get frustrated and throw my controller at the wall. On a side note, I really enjoyed this DLC. I think it's my favorite so far. The new weapons are awesome, and the characters are cool and funny. I have only played through about one or two side quests, but i'm probably going to finish them all.

Backspace-Yao-Guai 15:40, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

So you are complaining that this game is too easy on normal? You should try Very Hard, you can get killed while even in VATS...

A majority of stealth players say that the DLC is easy whereas those that run and gun find it substancially harder. Its the sneak instant criticals that give the advantage to the stealth players. I fyou want a challenge drop the ninja suit and stop hiding in the shadows. --King Cog 09:33, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

Same here except I used the stealth armor and an infiltrator the first time and the second time I used Winterized T51-b armor and an Alien Disintegrator from Mothership Zeta, so go figure... --69.19.14.29 20:30, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

The problem with PL and MZ, is the new addition of Health reduction effects (I.E., Axes do an effect of -35) which the Lone Wanderer cant take advantage of for some very stupid reason, But yet a Creeper can thrash my fully capped 85 DR 600+ health ass in 4 buck shots. I do play on Very Hard, and i do like the challenge, but its just ridiculous sometimes, Id sneak sometimes, But i'm clad in Hellfire, so its not effective. Microwave Emitter is so ftw in this DLC btw. =)--Nosferus 03:41, October 19, 2009 (UTC)

NO MUTANT ALLIGATORS!!!!! >:([]

Why? i have to say, Point Lookout dissapointed me in a lot of ways. First off, it had a lot of potential to be cooler. like there could have been swamp monsters and stuff like that. but no, we get stuck shootin indians and stupid mutant hick people.oh and the mirelurks, wich ive already shot at. Oh, but there green. forgot about that. and your guy trips out on the most potent weed in history ( or something like that, i forgot) - Imanuke, june 16th,

Alligators were missing I must say. On the Xbox 360 version I was half exspecting one to pop out of no where. More Mutant alligators please.Mc Scarlett

No,and theres no indians in PL, dumbass. You waste my time. 18:38, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

Are you kidding the hicks are hysterical. Sneak up on them and you can see that tapping their feet and clapping their hands, no music but its still hilarious. Oh and by the way i was just playing and i saw two of them just watching me.............their friends were silently behind me. Be warned if they just stand there staring......turn around.

Point Lookout travel time[]

I've been going back and forth from PL to CW and I just noticed it was already the year 2348!!! Apparently, when you travel to PL, it takes about 1 month and similar to going back to the CW.... I never see my character age though which is annoying... I'm going to try to reach year 2500.....--BloodOmelet 05:47, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

It kinda bothers me that it takes one month for a riverboat to reach a place that's about two and a half days of walking (accounting for resting and eating) from DC in real life....Mirelurks can only cause so many delays before the vault dweller starts hurling mininukes like Liberty Prime.71.138.16.108 18:11, November 15, 2013 (UTC)

Objective Markers[]

After the Talking to Nadine about Tobar I got her to take me back to the Capital Wasteland. When I came back I still had Hearing Voices as my active quest. I looked at the world map and I saw the marker was near Agatha's House and Scrapyard. I'm guessing that's the area of the Capital Wasteland corresponding to the Wrecked Seatub in Point Lookout? Best DLC Ever[]

I recently downloaded point lookout, and mothership zeta. I tried Mothership zeta first, and was disappointed. It felt like an enormous maze, like the Enclave Base, and played with a sense of urgency and desperation, which I don't like in an RPG. I then played point lookout, and was blown away. Point Lookout is completely open-world, allowing you to do whatever you want. The new weapons, such as the lever-action rifle, and double-barreled shotgun, are just plain fun. The swamp folk add humor to the combat with their "hillbilly" like appearance and dialog. The story was also incredibly fun to play. "Walking with Spirits" is the most fun quest I have ever played, and reclaiming you're brain matter is a great little Easter egg.

In short, Point Lookout is in my opinion, the best Fallout 3 DLC made.

I beg to differ. I absolutely hated Point Lookout. I even started calling it "Pointless" Lookout. But by contrast I really enjoyed Mothership Zeta, and it's my favorite add-on. Different strokes I suppose.--Semper Fidelis Tyrannosaurus - "Always Faithful Tyrant Lizard" 07:55, October 14, 2012 (UTC)

Best items to be used in Point Lookout.[]

I went through the swamps, graveyard, and killing tribals with mostly OPERATION ACHORAGE ITEMS. You need a Gauss Rifle for almost any enemy in Point Lookout best aganist swamplurks Reavers and charging swampfolk. If you don't feel like fighting use the chinese stealth suit i got through the swamps easily with it. If you feel like a challenge I wouldn't use the Stealth Suit. But you WILL need the Gauss Rifle because some enemies are damn right hard.Kirby888 22:44, 28 August 2009 (UTC)

The alien blaster weighs a lot less than the Fatman or the MIRV, and will actually hit what you aim at without the possibility of blowing yourself up firing on the many melee enemies you'll face ( the Brusiers, Reavers, etc.) Loki240000 (talk) 04:45, October 17, 2012 (UTC)loki240000

Level Cap Increase?[]

I noticed that PL has feral ghoul reavers in it and I heard somewhere that it increase your level cap to 30 just like broken steel. Is this true?? I'd like to know cos im torn between buying broken steel and PL.Setimir92 20:53, October 4, 2009 (UTC)

No, Point Lookout does not increase the level cap to 30, Broken steel is the only DLC which increases the cap. Feral ghoul reavers are included in point lookout regardless of whether broken steel is installed. Lord Snip...No, wait, King Snip!. 07:10, October 5, 2009 (UTC)

Damn, thanks. Now I'm even more torn, I really want a level cap increase but Broken Steel doesn't seem to increase a lot in the actual wasteland and not many new things are added; Point Lookout is a whole new map. Setimir92 17:32, October 5, 2009 (UTC)

Guns not doing any damage/slow framerate and bouncing characters (360)[]

Whenever I shoot an enemy with any gun, they take absolutely no damage. This includes V.A.T.S as well. Also the framerate is lagging like a mother and I look like I'm bounding around the map. I read on the actual Bugs article that the bouncing happens and you have to stand still for 3 seconds before you can do damage. Is there any possible way to fix this or did I just waste 800 Microsoft points?

Filesize Difference?[]

Size: 370.4 MB (535mb for PS3)

Anyone have any Idea as to why the filesize was different for the PS3 release? Did we get some better textures or something? Vanadrin Failing 01:10, October 18, 2009 (UTC)

Semi-related. On the 360, this DLC is a different size depending on what source you get it from. Case in point: If you install Point Lookout from the GoTY edition, it's 413MB, but if you install it from the Broken Steel/Point Lookout disc, it's 450MB. I'd really like to know what is different between the two given it's the same DLC for the same console. Also wonder what size the DLC of XBL is. --98.203.95.102 20:51, October 25, 2009 (UTC)

PlayStation 3 Freezing[]

There have been a lot of complaints (see the GameFAQs boards for examples) about freezing issues on the PS3 version of Point Lookout. I know that the DLC is pretty much broken and unplayable on my system. I managed to get through the Main Quest, but I had to manually reset the PS3 about every 20-30 minutes because of freezes, lockups, and horrendously slow frame rates that make battles impossible. Has anyone else had these issues? Should an entry be added to the article page? dusty_duster 16:01, October 19, 2009 (UTC)

Im having the same problem, but in my game it only freezes when i get to certain areas

missing weapons[]

I had that to but when i went swimming i found my missing super sledge partly showing through the ground (super sledge cannot be found in pl)

Optimistic???[]

It seems to me Bethesda is getting very optimistic about humanity expanding well; first that cave fungus which healed and reduced radiation (although it did grow only on dead bodies), the Pitt turns out to be actually able to produce things and now Punga, which grows on irradiated ground but is eatable, reduces radiation and seems to be quite easily refined. Murdered Paratrooper[]

On the world map in PL, on the intersection of the 3rd and 4th squares from the left of the top and second from the top rows, the is a skeleton with an assault rifle and combat helmet underneath it( the skeleton is in the tree). There is an ax embedded in the tree right next to the skeleton. If you look up at the top of the tree, there is a tattered parachute. Just thought I'd let you all know.

A small tip...[]

Try to not use power armour on Point Lookout, especially when Swampfolk are around(preferably trackers and hunters). I had an experience using Tesla armour in Trappers Shack. I found a tracker in there which broke my Tesla helmet & Tesla body when they were both around 75% condition with his axe.

Although if you use the winterized T51B combat armour from the Operation: Anchorage. But again that is just a simulation you cant keep it.--Paladin Donn 19:18, December 10, 2009 (UTC)

When I first went to Point Lookout I made the mistake of rocking the T-51b Power Armor from "You Gotta Shoot 'Em in the Head." Broke pretty quickly after dealing with Brawlers, Reavers and attacking Tribals, which left me pretty assed out since repairs get pricey. The Winterized version wouldn't be an issue though; as I understand it, due to what's thought to have been some kind of programming oversight, the version you acquire post-simulation is the same used inside it, making it nearly invulnerable. List of Very Hard Terminals and Locks?[]

I'm wondering if I should hold off on doing PL until I have put enough skill points into my Lockpick and Science skills. Are there a lot of Very Hard terminals and/or Locks?

Bobblehead[]

You can find 'The Brain' Bobblehead if you have destroyed the brain at the end of the main quest by disabling the objects around the glass shards via console (PC Only). Alas, you cannot pick it up.

Sea monster[]

My friend told me that if you fire at some objects in sequence while standing on a specific boat in point lookout a sea monster's tail comes out of the water. I haven't seen it mentioned on here and youtube only has one vague video that doesn't provide definitive proof. Is the sea monster thingy real? 94.10.202.227 08:46, July 11, 2010 (UTC)

It's Bethesda not Gearbox, an easter egg like that is most likly not in the game. - RASICTalk 09:41, July 11, 2010 (UTC)
I've never heard about any monster (or seen one) but 15min ago i found a BIG skeleton of a T-Rex at the bottom of the sea under a buoy outside the cathedral. Would had craped my pants if that thing had attacked when I swam there. Don't beleve in the story at all about the tail. GW.one 21:12, August 8, 2010 (UTC)

Player Housing in Point Lookout[]

I couldn't find a page providing examples of decent player housing (assuming some players don't find their Megaton/Tenpenny dwellings suitable), and I'm thinking some safe containers and a place to sleep might be a nice thing to know about in Point Lookout, especially since I don't plan on heading back to the Capital Wasteland for a while. So, I have two questions.

1: Could anyone point out such locations in Point Lookout (preferably close to Pilgrim's Landing, but we take what we can get), for me and for any future readers with the same issue?

2: Shouldn't there be a page somewhere detailing prime locations for player housing and/or safe storage? Not just in Point Lookout, but in the game in general?

Gah, scratch all of that. I just found the "Fallout 3 player housing" page. It really should come up when someone searches for "player housing," as I've done on at least three seperate occassions now, to no avail. Science-Doer 09:21, October 10, 2010 (UTC)

Aftermath[]

I help Nadine with the duchess gambit (work) (I don't bother going back to the wastes anymore..) I live with Kenny and hunt for food to give to him. Obediah is dead, Calvert Mutilated, Desmond Deceased... alot...more...enemies...Killed...

Is it just me, or does it seem that the government made no effort at all to preserve life in the post-apocalypse in Maryland? No Vault, no survival center, and no stockpile of food or supplies. With a low population, I can understand not having a Vault, but no shelters? I mean, you have the disaster relief outpost, but that was for the new plaque, not the atomic holocaust. The only place I can see that would protect individuals from "The Flash" is the Coastal Grotto, but that was a private installation. I'mwiredwithEXPLOSIVES 17:54, April 9, 2012 (UTC)I'mwiredwithEXPLOSIVES

Point Lookout only makes up a small part of Maryland, not the whole state. Also, 2 of the Vaults in the main game, 92 and 108, are in Maryland I believe. Paladin117>>iff bored 17:57, April 9, 2012 (UTC)

Followers[]

I just edited the section about being able to bring followers into the DLC. I haven't seen any evidence of being able to bring permanent followers with you (excluding a rare glitch where Dogmeat appears) nor can I achieve it myself. But temporary followers will appear with the directions given on the page.--Jolipinator 16:03, May 3, 2012 (UTC)

An Opinion[]

I just decided to download this and I have to say that I am VERY disappointed. The number of interesting locations and characters were few and far between, with the enviroments consisting of bland, bland and more bland. The Pitt and Operation: Anchorage are FAR better. However I should say that there were some good bits with Point Lookout, like the Inbred Hicks and the initial introduction to the area. But otherwise, it felt less like a post-nuclear wasteland and more like Wales on a cold winter. This is the second worst piece of DLC in the whole Fallout series, although it is a lot better than the pile of crap known as "Mothership Zeta". - Tehtumpi 21:44, May 4, 2012 (UTC)

I personally enjoyed Point Lookout. It felt like a breath of fresh air from the barren wastes of DC and brought us into a mutated swamp in rural Louisiana. Although I do agree it could've been better, I overall loved it and I loved the characters added in. Also I'll be the first to agree with you that Operation Anchorage was damn awesome. PS don't talk shit about Mothership Zeta --Lewush (talk) 01:05, May 16, 2017 (UTC)

Divergence[]

Captain John Smith discovered Point Lookout in 1612 in the Fallout reality; this happened in 1608 in OTL and John Smith was in England in 1612 (Point Lookout Part 9: The Jet Crash Site & Other Points of Interest).--BruceGrubb (talk) 17:02, June 24, 2019 (UTC)

This is mentioned on the John Smith page we have on this wiki. I don't think it's enough to say that the divergence happened way earlier than expected because it's such a tiny detail. It may have been an error on the devs' part.
