This would be a great place to list some places to do potential speech challenges. I'm trying to do all the challenges and don't want to use an exploit. I'm near the end of my game though so I'm not sure what speech challenges are left. Just a thought. FistFullofNovocain 04:38, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

Glitches

There is one remaining glitch available which make the accomplishment of this achievement incredibly easy.

Method:

First, travel to Little Lamplight (see link for exact location). There is a young girl in the city named Knock Knock, twin sister of Knick Knack (owner of the souvenir shop), who can mostly be found in the Great Chamber or at the Fungus Pool.

Talk to her, and she will try to tell a joke. Play along, and after hearing it out she will ask the player if it was good. If the player succeeds in lying to her, she has won a speech challenge. Ending the conversation isn't required for the player to repeat it an unlimited number of times. Still works on patched XBOX 360 and PS3 versions. On the PS3 version however, you may have to shoot your gun afterwards, or equip your weapon for the trophy to come up. On another note you may also have to shoot your gun or just switch to your fists on the 360 version as well.

Basically you must wait for the game to do a check of your stats before the achievement will appear. shooting your gun is an example since your damage is based on stats. but the best way is too just walk away and wait, you will encounter and enemy, fast travel, find an item, etc. any of these things update your stats and refresh the counter which activates the achievements.(Confirmed with latest 1.5 patch (Version 1.5.0.23 Xbox 360. Also Confirmed with 1.61 patch for PS3)

The page reports the easy way to obtain this achievement in Little Lamplight (Repeatable Knock Knock lie) no longer works in the GOTY edition. This is not true, at least on 360. Confirmed I did this earlier today on 360, GOTY edition.

Confirmed on PS3, still works even with GOTY edition and all latest patches.

Is it just me or does this achievement take too long?

Then again, that may be because I let my friend do most of the talking, and he's a 12 Gauge Shotgun!!!
