Pictures[]

why arent there any pictures up yet? —Preceding comment was unsigned. Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Because there aren't any pictures to put up yet. If you find some feel free to put 'em up as long as they're from a Fallout: New Vegas preview and not from Fallout 3. --Kris mailbox 11:36, August 22, 2010 (UTC)
here's one http://www.falloutnow.de/forum/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=1418 but I'm not sure how 'legal' it is, everything from this site seems a bit dodgy Mr Habberdasher 08:35, September 3, 2010 (UTC)

dont think that is legal. No brotherhood sign and they are supposed to be the ones using it.--Tommythomte 19:40, September 22, 2010 (UTC)

I hope there are more than two suits of this armor in this game. It looks so cool. If the above picture is real i guess there will be at least 4. Apparently the Brotherhood will be hard to find in this game.--HelpMeRhonda213 04:56, October 12, 2010 (UTC)

There's at least 4 varieties - at least two types of T-51b used by the BOS, the APA Mark I, and the Advanced Tesla armor. So there's definitely more than two suits. --Kris User Hola 10:11, October 12, 2010 (UTC)

Power armor training[]

Does anyone no how to get the power armor training.Deadxinsanity 21:27, October 22, 2010 (UTC)

Either with the Enclave or the Brotherhood. You have to join the Brotherhood to recieve the training. I don't know about the Enclave. == Zombies007 == 13:43, April 9, 2011 (UTC)

Two T-51bs[]

There are the Brotherhood T-51bs that conceal you as a member and "normal" T-51bs that don't, same with T-45ds~ 88.193.206.193 17:06, October 23, 2010 (UTC)

Repair?[]

Please tell me it can be repaired in New Vegas., or is it unrepairable again? --Sentinel 101 17:32, October 23, 2010 (UTC)

There are plenty of brotherhood armor sets to use to repair it with.Vault 815 03:52, October 26, 2010 (UTC)

Can be repaired by any type of power armor. With Jury Rigging, any Metal Armor as well.

Faction-Free armor?[]

Are there any other "T-51B Power Armor"'s than the ones you find during the brotherhood quests? I accidentally repaired mine and can't find another.

The equipment vendor in broken hills sells some.Vault 815 03:51, October 26, 2010 (UTC)

suit attributes and proposed adjustments[]

Does anyone else think that this armour should add +2 strength (instead of +1), but then give a -1 to agility? I think that would be a fairer reflection of the qualities of well maintained power armour if it really existed. I don't care how well maintained the suit it, it's going to impact your agility. If it only gave a +1 to ST and then a -1 to AG (as in FO3), then there would be no real net gain - just a trade-off... in fact, a net loss, given extra weight the suit adds.

And I really think that such a formidable suit should amplify strength far more than a +1, considering that it's basically an atomic powered battle machine, a shielded mobile weapons platform encasing a human body. Just look at the weight it must hold up... you can even run in it. It's made of STEEL, dammit. I would say it should be a +5 to strength, but I suppose that would unbalance the game too much.

...and why the heck didn't the designers give articulated steel gauntlets to the suit? You would need that for heavy weapons control and rad protection... you can't have all the strength in the arms then leave the wrist and fingers unsupported. A fully power armoured soldier should be able to take out weaker soft targets with one steel fisted punch.

Well you have to remember, power armor on fallout 3 and NV give weaker bonuses than the ones on Fallout 1 and 2, because of the gameplay shift from Turn-based strategy, to First-person shooter. TBH, i'd love for this armor to give the original +3 strength bonus, and the advanced power armor to give the original +4, but that would break this game dramatically. It wouldn't have any debuffs to any other stats, only large amounts of defense, and a huge boost to strength. 184.56.90.168 07:16, August 22, 2013 (UTC)

More copies of factionless T-51b?[]

I'm almost certain that I got the plain T-51b on my first character before finding out about the deathclaw promontory. Is it GECK-confirmable that this is the very single one? I could be wrong but I remember wearing factionless power armor while Vanessa was sportingthe BoS version last week, and I just got to the deathclaws today.

This armor can also be bought in BoS bunker after becoming becoming a paladin. INL 18:13, November 5, 2010 (UTC)

not stacking[]

Is it just my game or does the T-51b armor not stack in the pitboy ?

Items stack only if they have same condition.INL 18:15, November 5, 2010 (UTC)

Can Someone Explain...[]

...What this means please?: 'Unlike in Fallout 3 neither the Brotherhood T-51b Power Armor or T-51b Power Armor will completely resist being broken'

I thought they could be broken anyway, unless it was refering to the Winterized T-51b with insane HP? AR700SAW 18:59, November 5, 2010 (UTC)

The Winterized T-51b from Fallout 3, even with its insanely high hp (which I wore from level 4 to level 30 the entire game), could be broken (maybe?), but when I had done literally every quest, discovered every location, unique weapon and etc., it was still in good condition (about 75% condition). - Texas Ranger 21:17, November 17, 2010 (UTC)

It didn't take any damage in the 360 version. Well.. not enough for the game to register. I had a save file where I'd been using the stuff for over 200 hours on very hard and I didn't need to repair it once. More than that, I couldn't. The CND was still at 100%, so I couldn't even attempt to maintain it. And that's after being clusterfucked by Deathclaws on multiple occasions.--62.30.162.142 23:24, February 29, 2012 (UTC)

Do the Brotherhood corpses have helmets?[]

Do the three Brotherhood corpses have helmets for their power armour? I don't think so, but I could be crazy. Also, if you wear Brotherhood armour, do the guys at Sloan attack you? Is it because they are NCR guys? Thanks. Snooldex 01:12, January 26, 2011 (UTC)

Can't Repair with Metal armor,reinforced?[]

I have been going over this for a while now, but somehow i can't repair this armor with metal armor, reinforced. I don't know why though... does anyone else have this problem? (I have Jury Rigging perk) BlitzKrieg-BoB 17:58, March 7, 2011 (UTC)

You need the Jury Rig perk Comedian1988 23:05, June 26, 2011 (UTC)

They said they had it at the end of the post. O.o; User:Great_MaraUser talk:Great_Mara 23:07, June 26, 2011 (UTC)
Don't confuse the perk (which is needed) with the Jury Rigger achievement (which does NOT give the Jury Rigging perk). --Kris User Hola 23:36, June 26, 2011 (UTC)

Why does this armour...[]

...cost less than Mk II reinforced combat armour O.o --ffs (talk) 03:30, September 8, 2012 (UTC)
