General Q & A

We need to clarify this company. I'm mostly assuming a bounty hunter company aswell this is

It's Company as in: squad, formation. Shaur M. S. Grizlin 01:04, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
"Company" as in (para)military formation of approx. 150 men, typically commanded by a captain or major. Talon Company is presumably a mercenary outfit, performing work for whoever will pay them. --Nick East 12:19, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

Anyone managed to have positive relations with the Talon Company yet? I reflexively ambushed a patrol in the Wasteland and now I am a bit nervous about trying to make friends... --Trithemius 07:57, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

I found a Talon Company base, it had 3 occupants, a lot of computers and laser rifles and pistols. The issue is it's not a listed area. It's not on my world map. It just west of Grayditch in a building. Anyone else seen this Hurtzbad 13:57, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

It's not just you. I ran into it early on in the game, moving from the Super-Duper Mart to Grayditch. As I was low-level at the time, I backpedalled out of there ASAP and I haven't been back since. The building is a comparatively intact office block, across the road from the Sewer Waystation, I think. It has a metal stairway leading to a door set above ground level; under the stairway are several corpses (fresh and skeletal), as if they'd been pitched off the landing. --Nick East 12:19, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

I'm really hoping these guys turn out to have a chief base of operations. Annoying. I decided I'd start my Fallout experience by being an okay sort of person, and these guys show up out of nowhere with kill orders that have my name on them. Reilly mentioned something about Talon hanging out in the Capitol Building, so I went there. I found them. And I killed them. All of them. And they KEEP COMING. I just finished shooting up Paradise Falls, now I want to shoot up wherever Talon Company is permanently hiding out. (Then I want to find out who put out the kill order on me, and kill that person too. VENGEANCE! Rico the Spirited 05:25, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

You can go to where their commander is, Fort Bannister, and kill every single one of them there, and they still keep coming. There's a steady supply.

I've heard it's possible to be nuetral to Talon Company by maintaining a nuetral karma level. I've also heard that it's Mr. Burke/Tenpenny that puts the bounty on your head if you do not agree to blow up Megaton... But I've confirmed neither of these rumors.Atten418 03:21, 30 November 2008 (UTC)Atten418

  • Just wanted to clear a few things up...
    • Talon Company come after you if you have positive karma. "Hitman"x3 come after you once as part of completing the power of atom quest(not nuking megaton.) I have confirmed this in GECK.

boss: Commander Jabsco. Killng him will not cease Talon Company operations, in case you were wondering. You also cannot supplant Jabsco, for those of you who wanted to become the Talon Company leader.

    • The Talon Company outpost by Grayditch is just a curiosity, not a major location. That's why it doesn't get a fast-travel marker on your World Map. It's similar to the little hideouts you can be led to by activating the radio towers scattered across the wasteland.

In the main discussion, someone states 'feel free to use the nearest exit as a rest stop while your Action Points regenerate '; what is meant by the term 'exit'?

Mostly male

Does anyone else find that Talon Company is almost 100% male? I was surprised today when I met a female Talon merc. --Voidvector 20:29, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

I have never once met a female Talon Company Merc. Atten418 03:22, 30 November 2008 (UTC)Atten418

I saw one in the Capital building basement. Took a screenshot cause it was so rare. --Voidvector 03:28, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
Seconded, But I think I found her in a sewer. 23:48, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

Given that Talon Company are almost undeniably a male only group, at least as far as I have seen, the rare instance of finding dead female Mercs in dangerous places alone(metro central for me) is most likely more evidence that they don't allow women to join. A trip to fetch some muffler bearings in a dangerous place is likely a way to get rid of the most persistent applicants. --7h1s 11:07, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

I wonder if the female Talon Company Merc is a unique encounter with some special quest you can get if Talon Company's not hostile to you?Atten418 05:12, 2 December 2008 (UTC)Atten418

So far Iv'e found 7 female talon company mercs(all dead ofcourse) 4 in metro central 1 as i entered the corvega factory(just up the stairs as you enter) 1 as i entered the capitol building from the mall and one in the capitol building basement(in a toilet).

I've had this twice happen to me since I installed Operation Anchorage and The Pitt, but I've encountered single Female Talon Mercs mixed in with the kill teams you encounter. Considering that I've seen *hundreds* of Talon Mercs over the course of 2 seperate playthroughs, post-content-update - my assumption is that they *can* appear at any random Talon Merc Team encounter, but the chances are obscenely low; probably 0.5%, if not lower. - Jaimas

There are no Female Talon Company Mercs in the game, other than dead ones. Part of the issue is that voice files weren't recorded for the Talon Company barks and what have you, so they can't say much other than generic stuff that anybody says when in combat. That is, even if there were files to make them, which there aren't. All you'll get is the dead ones. IT's pretty trivial to add them in though, so long as you don't mind them not shouting "Talon Company" every time. -- Yukichigai 06:21, October 19, 2010 (UTC)

Grocery Stores and Power Stations

EVERYTIME I leave a Grocer or a Power Station, I am attacked by them. And I mean EVERYTIME. Is it just me or does this happen to other people too? 23:01, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

Yes, this happens often. Expect to be attacked everytime you fasttravel to Scrapyard. 23:48, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

Maybe luck affects your chance of hostile random encounters. I have a question for you two, what are your luck stats? Not 10 right? I just finished playing through with a 10 luck character, never really saw Hitmen, or Talon company mercs. This game, with 1 luck, is the exact opposite, I'm getting jumped constantly. Oddly enough, more encounters, if anything just leads to earning a lot more money. --AshRandom 22:14, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

You'll find after you set off one random encounter, that location locks to whatever spawned, be it talon company, raiders, radroaches, etc. So if you return to a place where you encountered Talon Company, you'l get em again, and at the strength you first saw them.

Max number of attackers

I've had five or six attack me, though that was a bit different as it was more like a Talon patrol very close to the VAPL-58 power station. A bit different to the three that usually wait on the doorstep.

I'm just curious to know if the number of mercs relate to the number of people in your party. I had Charon, Sydney, and Sticky with me, (lvl 20).

I never rejected Burke's offer, (didn't accept it either) and only had slightly good karma at the beginning of the game. I have been neutral for most of the game. (I find it quite difficult to keep neutral karma).

My record stands at 9. Three separate squads at once! They had 3 separate the "Kill player" contracts. Armed with total of 3 laser rifles, a missile launcher, 2 combat shotguns and 2 Chinese Assault Rifles. Scared me, cause I was about level 10, and suddenly my compass is FILLED with red lines. Thought it was some low level raiders at first. Then I heard the trademark explaimation about wanting my cranium served up on a nymphomaniac platter, or something of that nature, and realized I was in for a fight. Now, in conclusion, this raises the question- as you get stronger, do they send MORE squads with better weapons at once or am I extremely unlucky? And since I have Very Good karma, would that have an effect? (i.e. more attempts if you're very good instead of just good.)

My maximum is 10 talon companys mercs at level 20 with very good karma, and that was after i finished operation anchorage, however,my gauss rifle only killed 4 of them before i had to equip the trench knife, winterised t-5lb power armor and then go in slashing my wya to victory,i killed almost all of them, with only one of them left,he carried a 10mm pistol, and w eboth had only 1 heallth left, and my trench knife broke,so,i had to quick draw my gauss rifle, dodge the shots from the merc, reload my rifle and then kill him,i did so,but then i was forced to run awya when a squad of 10 regulators showed up,they did tear me apart, but i reloaded the save and went stealthy, then encountered 10 talon mercs and 10 regulators,i nearly died of shock, but i soldiered on,killing them all with a round of gauss rifle shots Werewolfhell 16:27, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

Encountered a group of six near Farragut Metro. No contract on any of them, so I assume it's a random encounter. Works for me, now I can farm them for laser rifles and armour. Strangely, it also seems to be a spawn point for an Enclave soldier in his underwear.--JohnnyVoodoo 14:51, September 17, 2009 (UTC)

Are they always hostile to you, even if you have bad karma? 21:19, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

yes they are. currently im the devil-looking guy and they as hostile to me as to the good guys(you know, the Jesus-looking guy)--That70sdude 00:28, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

It says on the notes section on V. Hard mode they provide 62 XP, but while clearing out the capitol building I've only seen 75 and 45 XP gain

Walked out of L'Efant South Metro and they were there, there was some dialogue and then they attacked, funny thing is that a supermutant with a Minigun sneaked up on them and blew first Merc's head off ! Just had to mop up the rest of them..EyeCon

Origin and scope of Talon Company?

They just seem sort of...there. Do they have some sort of central command, or some sort of origin? At first they seem like just a crazy, loose band of 'do anything' mercenaries, but if you read their notes that they leave in areas where they battle and take up position, they have very capable plans, attack positions, knowledge, and military like tactics and such (Team Alpha, Team Bravo, etc). They're even capable of installing artillery batteries and such.

So do they have some sort of origin or background or something? Are they exclusive to the Capital Wasteland?

This is just speculation on my part but maybe they do have origins in the military since they have a base at Fort Banister and the page for that says that they took up residence there but maybe they knew about it because the were or are led by some remnants of the military. The military has been know to be a bit unmoral... (cough..Vietnam). I want to say agian that this is just speculation from me and I have only played Fallout three. Kelloth 22:17, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

I have a feeling they were somehow influenced by military contractors before 2077. Bethesda Softworks is located in a DC suburb and as locals they would know Washington has a very high concentration of private security workers. This would also explain their HQ at the old army base. ~ The Washingtonian 15 May 2009
I wonder if their name is an alluson to the lex talionis, the legal term for primitive "eye for an eye" or retributive justice, or more loosely, simply getting even. That seems to be the stage of law most of the Wasteland is stuck at. Wunengzi 06:34, August 24, 2010 (UTC)

Jury Street Metro

Every time I fast travel to the Jury Street Metro Station I meet like six Talon Company Mercs? any one no why that is? is it like a patrol or something? Kelloth 01:56, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

Private Military Corporation

If Talon Company is supposed to be some sort of post apocalyptic PMC, then can we count on some sort of DLC or SOME sort of exposition with them in the future? They're just kinda...there.

Killed before being talked to.

When I first meant my first Talon Members, they were fighting Super Mutants, and they were on my side for the time being. However, I knew they were bad, so I decided to try to kill them since I knew they were harder than the Super Mutants, who only had a nail board.

The first Talon Member I killed had the audio tape of the order to kill me, but he never got a chance to talk to me before I killed him. The other two Talon Members didn't talk to me while trying to fight me either. So my question is: Since I did kill that one Talon Member before he had a chance to talk to me, will any more Talon Members try to talk to me before they kill me? --HonestAbe 17:22, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

Mini Nukes?

There is a small outpost of talon company just south of the Arlington library. while raiding it and eventually leaving, it was repeatedly mini nuked. i only ever saw the explosions. Does anyone know the story behind it?

After The waters of life, an enclave vertibird nukes the place, if you go there. Lord Spoonfield III 21:19, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

Talon Comapany vs Regulators Vs Me

Just got the 3 on 3 Regulator/Talon duke out North of Rivet City.

Surprisingly 2 Talons survived the confrontation and remained peaceful until I talked to them, in which case they called me "the doo-gooder they've been hearing about," the usual contract banter even though I was Evil: Architect of Doom lv 21.

I suspect it was because I had just finished Tranquillity Lane, entering with Good Karma and exiting with Bad for obvious reasons.

On subsequent reloads it doesn't matter who survives both are inevitably hostile. The regulators, lacking manners, attack unprompted. Both corpses have contracts and bounties.

I was recently on a quest trying to find Sydney's body. When I came out of Anacostia Metro Station, there were three Talon Co. Mercs and 3 Regulators battling it out. I re-loaded the quicksave and made a hard save, and played out the scenario by killing just Talon, then just killing Regulators. No matter what, the remainders always went after me. Both factions were holding bounty orders on me. Strange, because I've been in good karma rating (Last, Best Hope for Humanity) for the last five levels or so. I'm assuming the Talon Co. is after me for betraying Mr. Burke, but the Regulators? They must be long overdue on something I did a while back, maybe the enslaving quest or some random people I executed in their homes. Thought they would have come after me already... --namelesswalaby 26 Dec 09 1723hrs

Midget Talon Company

The one and only time that i went to the Bunker that Talon Company operates from, I got to the very lowest part of it (the place that has a generator under a staircase) and was assaulted by either children or midgets. I'm thinking they were midgets because I was able to kill them. Sorry for the bad description; haven't been there in a LONG time.

Are you sure thay wernt like stuck in the ground?

I've seen this too; two of the Mercs are much shorter than usual. Nitty 22:04, October 3, 2009 (UTC)

I've seen 1 short one in Commander Jabsco area of Fort Bannister.

In fallout 3 you do so much evil but still Talon Company hate you...same with The Enclave (but thats for they're page) come on your a badass Vault dweler...that should be enough...I tried my best...still I have to kill them...even killing regulators isn't enough...screw Little horn i want proper hits -_- factions would make Fallout 3 so much better Onikage01 21:01, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

Go tell that to the raiders who open fire on you no matter what.--Jakezing2 02:41, August 11, 2010 (UTC)

Zombie talon merks

Ok I was in the irradiated metro and came out at L'enfant south now when I came out talon attacked meh like they do so I murdered them with the nova surge, I go back in the irradiated metro save and came back out and they were all standing there no clothing on with weapons drawn so I murdered them once more and reclaimed everything they had but it was strange because they had there armor equipped but not on and I got double of everything they had due to killing them 2 Min's before, now I'm sure its a glitch but I want to figure out a way to exploit it so I can keep re-spawning them to rake in all there stuff. Any Suggestions? Also has any one had this happing to them with any one else other then talon merks?

One man... Thirteen Mercs

I was walking around outside Vault 106 and decided to go to Kealin's bed and Breakfast, which is direcly north. I killed the raiders and looted their bodies, when suddenly 13 (!) Talon Mercs attacked me. Yes, 13. I dont know if they were different patrols that just happened to meet me there, or one whole patrol. But I just thought I'd post that here. Its a weird little encounter.--Chipgambino 02:07, October 1, 2009 (UTC)

I've seen like 7 to 9 at once before by the drive-in movie raider place.

Can talon company mercs be mezzed? 03:54, April 29, 2010 (UTC)

Talon Company make-up

Ok, so I am a good person and Talon mercs try to kill me and every time I see one i see his face is a pale white and the rest of his body is black. is this just like some kind of make-up they where to hide there identidy?

You have a plugin conflict. I guess you're running two conflicting .esm files at once. http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/0/08/Personal_Sig_Image.gif Tagaziel (call!) 17:20, June 23, 2010 (UTC)

I am getting this on PS3, and they have two different skin colours. It's weird because sometimes they even spawn sometimes with black skin and a white head. Tezzla blah blah blah 17:23, June 23, 2010 (UTC)

3rd party bullshit

It says talon company are being paid by a 3rd party, but i don't see any information pertaining to that. Can someone provide evidence please? Blestb 21:14, June 30, 2010 (UTC)

If I had to guess, it'd be Littlehorn & Associates behind it. 16:32, October 8, 2010 (UTC)

It's from the official strategy guide for it. http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/0/08/Personal_Sig_Image.gif Tagaziel (call!) 16:41, October 8, 2010 (UTC)

On my Lvl 30 Very good Karma character, whenever I encounter Talon Mercs they are almost always mutated. I say mutated but really they are mish mash of body parts, white head/tan arms or Black head and white arms. Anyone else have this 'glitch'?

i just got outta vault 101 and get jumped by 3 a them before i reach megaton
that hurt xD

talon's at lvl 2

i just got outta vault 101 and i ran into 3 of em on my way to megaton

who even paid em ? the overseer because i escaped ? amata because i left ? i mean noone knows i left the vault yet except them XD

ofcourse the loot was good tho :D

Seducing Burke

I'm a generally evil character but I like the Megaton house better, so I disarmed the bomb. Beforehand, I seduced Burke with the black widow perk.. Will he still send a contract out to kill me? I suppose I'll find out eventually but just wondering.

i did that Brotherhood entering to get water thing, but this article acts like the Brotherhood always win. When I did it the Brotherhood got destroyed by Talon Co. in the first area

You will get letters from burke you get them when you go in the bar but you will never see him

Weird weapon bug...

I was walking up to the zeta start point and i came across a group of talon mercs. Ive seen them like this before, wasnt suprised. One fled after i killed most, one ran (he had a sledgehammer or something) and hid. When i caught up, he was passive till i talked to him. Heres where the bug appears. He runs off a bit- stops, turns- And pulls out an Alien Blaster! I didnt survive to confirm it, but it one shotted me, so im assuming it was. Has this happened to anyone else?
