I decided to just make this thing into a separate article after I edited it. If anyone could check the GECK and add in the other characteristics of the weapon to the chart, that would be great. Also, the original author put this weapon under cut content, though it's not actually cut, you can find it in the game, what category would this thing fall under? --Clean Up 23:22, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

I don't think a beta variant of the same weapon should have a separate article. I think it should be merged back with Tesla Cannon. Ausir 12:39, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
I understand but I thought it should be a separate article because:
  1. This weapon is also obtainable by console players, meaning anyone can get it.
  2. Despite the fact that it fires the same electricity as the actual Tesla Cannon, it is a much different weapon, it does different damage, is repairable by ordinary missile launchers, still uses missiles, etc. etc...
  3. The weapon basically has a minor article's worth of info, and since other "cut" weapons have their own articles, I thought this weapon should too. --Clean Up 23:44, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

Obtaining section re-write.

Hopefully it's more clear as the previous video was rather convoluted as was the guide. I am also the random IP working on the section previously. Amorality 10:21, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

I'm happy to say!

The glitch to obtain this works on ps3!

To be(ta) or to to be(ta), that is the question...

So ive been reading and im wondering, i can see it uses normal missiles for ammo but the visual effect of firing is electrical. So my question is, What actual damage is being done? Explosive like the missile ammo it uses or is it electircal? Will this be usefull to have as an Anti-Robot missile launcher if indeed it is electrical or EMP damage?

Is this worth having instead of a normal missle launcher or in addition to? Cos these weapons are heavy and i dont know if i can be botherd carrying around both this and a normal missile launcher.

Yet another way to obtain the Beta Tesla Cannon

Remeber the northern cliff area you have to jump down from if you can not get back from the Beta Tesla Cannon table and the invisible boundary blocks you. Well, I stacked 5 5mm ammunition packs, and 3 5mm pack in front of them next to that cliff. I jumped up these and up the cliff. The rest is self explanatory. It may look hard, but it was much quicker for me than stacking them near the fence, due to the cliff being less high than the fence. And though the ground there may seem quite off level it worked as a perfect surface for the 5mm staircase.-James Andrew Walker

I just figured that this method should be in the main link as well.-James Andrew Walker

Cut content, or Easter Egg?

From a technical perspective, is this really Cut Content, or would it better be classified as an Easter Egg?

Has Bethesda actually stated that the gun was removed after being originally intended to be accessible in the game, validating a definition of cut content?

As the gun has a real world presence, and is not merely obtainable through console commands or the addition of mod packs to complete missing/incomplete textures, this makes it not too dissimilar to accessing loot in normally "inaccessible" areas ie top level floors or obtaining the Victory Rifle without having the required lockpick skill level etc, and would therefore seem better classified as an Easter Egg - a bonus reward.    phoenix     txt    data   06:13, March 6, 2010 (UTC)

It's not an easter egg, it's a developer test weapon. http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/0/08/Personal_Sig_Image.gif Tagaziel (call!) 07:20, March 6, 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for that Mikael. So technically, it is neither cut content, or an easter egg. Would it be appropriate to add the "Developer Test Weapon" status to the main article?    phoenix     txt    data   07:29, March 6, 2010 (UTC)
I think Test Item would be more appropriate. We do have Test Cell as a category. I think. http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/0/08/Personal_Sig_Image.gif Tagaziel (call!) 16:04, March 6, 2010 (UTC)

If it's a test item then why did they leave it in the game (It must be an easter egg or something).-Շցսռ՚ժ 17:13, March 6, 2010 (UTC)

Because they tested it in the same area that became the relay station. There's a lot of leftover test stuff in the files, but they aren't easter eggs - why should an obviously unfinished cannon be one? http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/0/08/Personal_Sig_Image.gif Tagaziel (call!) 22:18, March 6, 2010 (UTC)

i think its an easter egg because its there, on a table, with ammo!God damn ghouls 22:17, April 14, 2010 (UTC)

No. It's cut content. It's not meant to be accessible in normal gameplay and it's obviously a leftover from testing. http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/0/08/Personal_Sig_Image.gif Tagaziel (call!) 22:55, April 14, 2010 (UTC)
That's what he thinks, you can't change that. Nukey talk 22:57, April 14, 2010 (UTC)
Well you could argue that it's possibly an easter egg simply because of the way it's set up. The weapon is levitating about a table with ammunition boxes for missiles under it. I'm not sure if the developers would test a rough version of a weapon like that inside a cell that they're going to use for a major campaign mission. --Clean Up 21:12, April 17, 2010 (UTC)

Simplicity, a solution often forgot.

So after you get the missle and have to get back over the fence, why have to jump or do anything, why not just fast travel. Simplicity is a real kicker eh? --FLaSHBaCK HaSH 21:37, April 17, 2010 (UTC)

Test Item/Easter Egg/Etc... Thoughts

I think putting it in a test category would be not right. Im not even sure what you mean by test category. It is a weapon, so lets keep it as such. Not an easter egg. And while i believe it was meant to be cut content, it is not.

so why in the categories cant we have it like the other special variants of weapons, since it is technically a tesla cannon. Why can't we just say "Tesla Cannon - (Tesla Cannon (Beta))". Seems most appropriate to me. 04:04, July 7, 2010 (UTC)

What happens if you never stop going just keep following the power lines is there more "cut" content. I will find out.

Nope just desert, a big pretty undisrupted repeating texture.AryeonosWhat!? 23:22, October 29, 2010 (UTC)
