Raven Rock not exploding[]

Raven Rock never exploded for me, I never convinced the AI to destroy itself, nor used the self destruc code, I just took the vial, and walked out the sentrys and robots helped clear the way, and the door simply closed after me, still can't get back in though.

Same here, though I've not tried to get in, Since I had to reload from an earlier save to go do things. I would very much like to know if it is possible to return, because I came in carrying enough equipment to nearly put me over my encumbrance level. --Three Dog 03:05, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

You can talk to Fawkes before fast travelling. Walking past the stairs is what triggers the door to close, not talking to him. You just need to shoot him so that he'll run toward you, then crouch and use a stealthboy so that he's friendly again. Now he'll initiate the dialogue and you can fast travel once it's done. If the outside door closes, reload.Misterfr33ze 21:07, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

The Archives area was closed to me , was it the same for everyeone ?

when i exited Raven Rock Fawkes wasn't outside, anyone know why and where i can find him? edit: when i went back later on and walked down the road i found him stood there

Nathan?!!!??[]

As soon as the Enclave officers turned red, I didn't wait for the "president's" order to stop and so I just ran for cover back in the room where you became conscious, I heard the president's order and so I came out, but right on the floor, was Nathan, dead! He was wearing the exact same clothes as he normally does in Megaton, naturally, not wanting a character to die for a pointless/unknown reason, I reloaded. I couldn't find Nathan anymore, alive or dead, or atleast at Raven Rock. Can anyone comfirm this glitch/bug or was it a one-in-a-million kind of thing?

Nathan was alive in the cell next to the one you wake up in. All he says is 'Be careful, they're not who they say they are' though and seems to be of no use. It might also be relevant to mention that the enclave do not become hostile until you reach level 2 in the compound.

When I exited the cell and got into a gunfight with the Enclave soldiers, I saw Nathan down the hall to the left run across the hall and get shot in the crossfire. This may have happened offscreen to your character, so you just saw him dead. I believe he is in another cell and for some reason tries to escape at the exact same moment that you do. Myles58 20:50, 19 January 2009 (UTC)Myles58

I've never noticed him dieing before. So I tried clearing the whole floor, came back to check, and Nathan hasn't moved. Just to make sure, I repaired some enclave armor and reverse-pickpocketed it onto him. Cleared out level two, came back, and Nathan is still in the same spot. Perhaps NOT clearing the floor and trying to sneak around is what gets Nathan killed.--Ripvanwinkle111 01:45, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
I retried it, and if you fail the Speech check with the first officer, he calls for the guards, who do indeed come running and gun down Nathan. Of course I was hidden before the guards showed up, so they gunned down the officer and Nathan first, before spotting me. You can fight off or distract the guards until President Eden makes his speech.(triggered by walking towards Nathan's cell) If Nathan is outside his cell, he will return to it and continue cowering. Colonel Autumn's speech is triggered by getting near either door that leads to level 2.--Ripvanwinkle111 02:34, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
This reveals an interesting exploit, as long as you don't trigger Colonel Autumn's speech, soldiers will defend themselves, but not assist each other. You can pick off the guards and scientists in solo fights.--Ripvanwinkle111 02:44, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

I left the base with the vial, leaving Eden intact...[]

...and the robot sentries and robot guards showed up as friendlies, attacking and killing Enclave soldiers. I assumed this was because Eden decided to remove his human soldiers because they were answering to Autumn and not him.

The robots did NOT fire on me.

ALL of these things are SUPPOSED to happen. They are not bugs are far as anyone can tell. Rogue scholar 02:18, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

Bobblehead[]

I think the bobblehead should be mentioned in the article near the start, rather than just mentioned in a throwaway comment. I only read it once I'd entered level 1 and so lost the chance to get the bobblehead.

Bug[]

In addition to only getting to open the locker once, you have to choose your items individually (i.e., A button in 360), rather than "select all" (X button in 360). When I punched "select all", it only gave me one category of my items (all weapons, but not apparel, aid, or misc).

Previous edit moved from main page, works for me, can anyone else confirm it?--Keithjohnb 09:45, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

Chances are above player was in the "WEAPONS" list when he pressed "Take All" as it will only apply to the specific list you are in. To retrieve all items of all categories you must be in the "ITEMS" list when pressing X for "Take All".Misterfr33ze 20:53, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

I had a very interesting result upon retrieving my items from the locker. Prior to being knocked unconscious I had 74 stimpacks. However, the amount I received from the locker was the exactly 1337 stimpacks. Considering the significance of that number I am not sure if its a bug or a feature. Level 20 on PS3. Wonder if anyone else has had this occur? 06:21, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

I was in the "WEAPONS" list when I cleared the locker (SQUARE on PS3) and only got the weapons, but here's the funny part: I RE-OPENED the locker. Possibly fixed on the latest patch?

The first time I did this quest, I thought I would still be under attack upon exiting Raven Rock. I hadn't read the Wiki yet, and there were so many explosions and so much gun fire that I panicked and I fast-traveled as soon as I got outside. My curiousity got the better of me and I eventually fast-traveled back to Raven Rock. Fawkes was standing there, shooting random Enclaves as they ran around. I went up to speak to him and all he said was "Leave me alone, ____!" I can't understand the last word but he is definitely mad at me. The first time I went, I had a follower (Star Paladin) so I figured that is why he did not want to follow me. I dropped her off at the Citadel and went back, and he was still angry at me. I couldn't get him to follow me until I did the mission again. Deboriole 23:18, February 15, 2010 (UTC)

When I got my stuff from the locker, I noticed I now have 100(!) Pulse Grenades! I only had 5 with me before getting caught, but my weapons locker in My Megaton House contained about 103 PG's, so maybe they teleported from there somehow. PS3 version, latest patch, level 20 character. 80.223.127.229 01:36, June 26, 2010 (UTC)

exploit moved[]

  • If you exit immediately and allow Fawkes to kill any enemies outside, allowing quick travel, you can quickly bring up your Pip-Boy 3000 and quick jump to another location BEFORE meeting with Fawkes. This allows you to return to Raven Rock and enter the base at your leisure for much looting. Also President Eden says nothing when further confronted. Warning: this may cause Fawkes to become un-recruitable (I found him near the original location of the G.E.C.K. inside vault 87 when doing this. He still carried the same gun and had the same dialogue as if meeting him at raven rock), when returning after quick traveling away Fawkes will no longer be at the location. This may be a sacrifice glitch for extra access to raven rock(When accessing raven rock for a second time I was only able to enter up to the part where two sentry bots said to go and see president eden because the door was locked and needed a key)(However if you are playing on the PC this can be solved by typing "unlock" into the console with the door selected) . If you don't care about going back into Raven Rock you can just exit as normal and meet Fawkes outside the entrance who is taking care of some Enclave soldiers. If you do not recruit Fawkes at this point, you can find Fawkes several game days later wandering by the entrance to the Underworld.
    • [xbox360] To avoid any possible glitch that may arise from not talking to Fawkes prior to fast-traveling: Shoot Fawkes from just below the top of the stairs to temporarily aggro him, then draw him near the tunnel and crouch and use a stealthboy to make him friendly again. Now you can talk to him w/o triggering the door and fast travel freely afterward.--Kingclyde 08:25, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

Lootable bodies[]

On XBox 360 I found that the bodies of the Enclave soldiers that fall out of the explosion could be looted for power armor. Don't know about other platforms, so made an edit to the page that they are sometimes lootable.

wierd robots[]

ummm i finish my second go at this mission. and i just found these wierd robots with brains on them that werent robobrains haha but really can someone confirm this!! and tell me wat they are.

If you are referring to the robots in the science lab tubes, I believe they are partially disassembled eyebots. This reveals that, like the robobrains, they have actual brains as their processing cores. The tubes dangling from them seem to be some type of life support mechanism for the brains while they are disassembled. DreadPirateMurphy 19:15, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

Giving a fake code to Autumn.[]

During your interrogation by Colonel Autumn, if you lie and give him a false code, he uses the intercom/radio to tell his troops at Project Purity. The eventual response is, "Negative, Sir. The code's no good. I just lost another man."--Ripvanwinkle111 00:18, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Power Armor[]

It may be a good idea to note that there is Power armor in one of the first "science lab" type rooms you enter, in an adjoining storage room footlocker. Could be helpful to those using their own set to keep it in full repair for the fight to come.

Code 216[]

Anyone been able to reach the locker and retrieve your gear AFTER giving the correct code and BEFORE being shot by Autumn? There is a short gap where you are free and Autumn is levelling his weapon.

I've tried quite a bit, to no avail. The locker won't open and Autumn's shot kills you in one hit. This doesn't mean it's not possible, though...75.187.186.52 13:48, April 4, 2010 (UTC)

I have an odd bug where he never fires and my punches do nothing. Since it's supposed to end the game anyway I suppose it's not important.97.85.168.22 03:12, July 6, 2013 (UTC)

Where to find Fawks[]

how come my little addition got deleted?

it says in the article that if the player doesn't talk to Fawks as the place is blowing up, he "may" disappear from the game forever.

this did NOT happen to me. I didn't even see fawks in the area as the place was blowing up, so i couldn't have talked to him.

what i did was travel through lamplight again, and into vault 87, where voila! Fawks was there, acting like he "followed me," fighting enclave soldiers.

this info (glitch) should be put into the article.

Will enclave soldiers still respawn?[]

I am talking about the various wasteland locations they normally respawn at after the waters of life quest, will they continue to do so after completion of the american dream quest?

Yes they will still spawn. I did the entire Broken Steel add-on, and they STILL spawn (I think it is once every three game days). This is attributed to the fact that "Word hasn't reached the whole Wasteland yet." Funny, because sometimes they arrive in a helicopter! Deboriole 23:21, February 15, 2010 (UTC)

Conversation[]

Does anyone know how to fix the glitch that causes the group of people that you talk to start Take it Back! to just stand around and do nothing? I'm playing on a 360 so no console commands for me and now Broken Steel is useless.

When you arrive you stand still and you hear them conversate. After that, if you're in a specific area close enough to Elder Lyons, he will talk to you. What happens next to you is that you're to far away from Sarah Lyons, and because of that she can't talk to you. To fix this, try standing at another location when you arrive, before you can't move anymore.
~ Scribe Aurora 15:52, August 16, 2011 (UTC)

Just tried this on PC, I noclipped in between them and then turned clipping back on and it didn't help at all. The console command fix given won't work either. 119.224.76.4 11:03, June 19, 2012 (UTC)

You Can Give the 2-1-6 Code[]

I gave Autumn the correct 2-1-6 code, then ran outside and hid until everyone went friendly again. I was left with -50 health, and using stimpacks or eating food will bring it up to a max of 1. Autumn will still go on the com system and tell everyone to kill you when you try to see Eden. If you want to complete the previous quest you can go back to Autumn and give him any response, he wont shoot you and THEN Eden will tell him to leave you alone- but the door to your cell will lock and you can't get to your locker. I also think your health stays at -50.

EDIT: If you leave Raven Rock after telling Autumn the 216 code, but not any of the other responses, your health will stay at 1/1. Also Enclave troops that have tesla armor will be friendly towards you, and you can even talk to them, though they only say hello, and their only response is goodbye.

easter egg[]

i dont know if this is the right place for it but raven rock could also be an easter egg for the bloodmoon exspansion of tes 3 morrowind as the mining colony there is called raven rock (Eddie the head 06:27, July 18, 2011 (UTC))

No, Raven Rock is named after a real place. There is, in fact, a government facility called Raven Rock, though it should be further northwest of DC, it's close enough. 68.232.186.227 04:06, February 19, 2014 (UTC)

Having Fakwes as company blocks others from re-joining after escaping Raven Rock[]

While playing the game normally, I have managed to recruit Charon, then the brotherhood of steel girl and then while randomly walking through the scrapyard I recruited the dog as well. So I have played for about the last 20% of the locations in the game with all three following and helping me.

I intentionally kept the last locations to explore the Vault 87 and Little Lamplight. While I was in the Citadel, I told all three to wait for me, got out and went to Lamplight and the to Vault 87 alone.

When I got out of Raven Rock, I talked to Fawkes and recruited him then teleported to Citadel. Told Fawkes to wait outside, talked to Roschild and told him I'm not quite ready because I wanted to recruit everyone back before the big robot sequence. Looked for the brotherhood of steel girl, couldn't find it. Went out in the courtyard, teleported to Vault 101, got the dog back and went with the dog to the Museum of History and attempted to get Charon back. He told me he can't join because there's too many following me and in the corner of the screen the game said I can only have one person following me.

Told the dog to go back to Vault 101 which I assume it's the equivalent of "services no longer needed" and tried to recruit Charon again - no luck. So I can only assume having Fawkes recruited blocks Charon, even though I have his contract in my inventory.

later edit: eventually found Cross as well and she said that she can't join as long as I travel with someone that's not in the brotherhood of steel. So it seems Fawkes prevents other from joining the group.

It is actually not possible to have two followers. You can only have 1 follower + dog meat, so leaving dog meat behind won't open space for another follower.
There is also a small bug that allows you to have Star Paladin Cross as your second follower, what probably happened to you. At that moment you had Charon, Cross and Dog Meat, and you returned them all to their original location. Now you don't have any followers.
Then you add Fawkes as a follower and then Dog Meat, but you're full now and the glitch(es) to recruit more than one follower doesn't work anymore. So now you can only have one follower + dog meat.

PC tag on Elder Lyons Bug[]

I added the PC tag to the bug about the last objective never being marked complete, as it happened to me. Image --66.143.193.42 05:34, February 20, 2012 (UTC)

Another PC Elder Lyons Bug[]

Hey can someone help me with a bug I'm experiencing? I got to the end, I've blown up Raven Rock, but that's where the quest just ends. I never get the next objective, the quest objective "escape" is still un-ticked and I don't get the objective to talk to the Elder after that, despite getting the xp, and the quest marked as complete. What's more is that when I go to the Citadel, Elder Lyons is missing from the group that won't talk and I can't continue the quest past that. Can someone please give me advice, i.e console commands or anything like that? Much obliged. 76.231.24.159 21:43, December 5, 2012 (UTC)

Try CompleteAllObjectives 14e8f, which should force the quest to complete (I hope). I've had the similar thing you describe. I used tcl when going through the final door leaving RR. Myabe you did that too. You need to normally open that door and go through it, otherwise it leaves the quest hanging. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 22:30, December 5, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks, the quest finally finished, but I havent gotten the next quest for the main quest, and all the BoS guys are just standing around the Citadel Labs and I can't progress. 76.231.24.159 02:45, December 8, 2012 (UTC)

The startquest, setstage and stopquest suggestions to fixing Lyons' Dialogue bug doesn't work. Tried it several times, modded and non-modded. Bastard just stands there and cannot be interacted with, nor can Rothchild and Sarah.

Destroy or not Destroy, that is the question[]

Does destroying or not destroying raven rock have any bearing on the game? More or less enclave spawns or anything in the add-ons? 69.157.149.201 02:35, August 3, 2013 (UTC)
