Ulysses' good ending?[edit source]

What should I do to keep him alive? I had to kill him in every playthrough... --DannyK92 19:34, September 22, 2011 (UTC)

You can't. As Whitley explains before you giving the order, military hard encryption systems cause the bots to overload their components and damage or explode them, wich is unfortunately true in case of ED-E. :( Brfritos 06:59, September 23, 2011 (UTC)

I was talking about Ulysses, not ED-E --DannyK92 12:19, September 24, 2011 (UTC)

Pass a 90 and 100 speech check when talking to him. Regards SoWhy 19:05, September 26, 2011 (UTC)

Am I screwed?[edit source]

I have maxed SPECIAL stats, and when I finish The End / The Apocalypse, I'm ** SPOILERS** returned to Canyon Wreckage and have to put a point into any of my SPECIAL skills; but since they're all 10 I can't and am permanently stuck at the point distribution screen. Patch coming or any help otherwise? Or am I screwed out of the excellent weapons and armor in this DLC? 15:11, September 23, 2011 (UTC) 11:09, September 23rd, 2011 (UTC)

I don't see how you could achieve a 10 in every category without using console commands. If that's what you did, why not try dropping a point before going to the nuke lever?Jdw 01:36, September 24, 2011 (UTC)

Load an earlier save, decrease one SPECIAL by 1 using console commands (For example: player.forceav luck 9) and then add this point back when you recieve the messege at the Canyon, that's what I did --DannyK92 12:21, September 24, 2011 (UTC)

Using console commands are all well and good, but don't mean anything on the 360 version of New Vegas. I suppose I should have mentioned that earlier. As far as lowering the SPECIAL, do I really need to use a hex editor? I never got those really figured out. 18:00, September 26, 2011 (UTC) 13:59, September 26, 2011 (UTC)

If your on the Xbox 360 and you have maxed out all your SPECIALs then i'm curious how your character is built aka perks because have all your specials at 10 really isn't that great imo all the specials really do is raise up your other skills for example: guns, unarmed, lockpicking etc... My advice to you is either reload an old save, or start a new toon w/o all specials with a 10. It really is silly to have all your specials at 10 if your on the consoles. If your conserned about maxing your skills dont worry i didn't have much problems maxing skills on my toon who's closer to 50 it does help to have a higher intel for a maxed toon. --Eckrack 09:12, September 27, 2011 (UTC)

How did you get your specials to all 10 on the XBox to start with? P38fln 18:11, September 27, 2011 (UTC)

If on the PC and stuck in the SPECIAL menu, just use closeallmenus or cam in console. KaisarDragon 02:28, October 25, 2011 (UTC)

Deliver Ulysses' final message?[edit source]

I says that there is an optional part to this quest of delivering Ulysses' final message but when I played it, I didn't have any option to do so or any indication. Is this correct and if, can the article be expanded to cover it? Regards SoWhy 19:08, September 26, 2011 (UTC)

Sucks to be a good guy...[edit source]

Anyone else bummed by the fact that by not nuking anyone you lose your robo-buddy AND miss out on the loot from the irradiated people in the Apocalypse mission?

--Monolithic 21:19, September 29, 2011 (UTC)

I disarmed the missile ,and now the doors to exit are locked

come on Bethesda stop the ridiculous crap

not every body feels like they should be punished for playing the good guy

I agree. I tend to play a good guy,and the happy feel good is a bit bittersweet with the death of E-DE. I fired a Tiny-Tot salute at the Fiends, in his honor.--Taipanpenguin 18:30, October 4, 2011 (UTC)

He does sort of pull off a Yes Man with the original ED-E at the end. 18:58, October 9, 2011 (UTC)

Crash trying to leave the temple at the end[edit source]

I disarmed the missile, but when I try to leave the temple, it crashes. I tried to coc to another location, but the quest market points back at the temple. When I re-enter the temple to try to find the trigger, I have to go all the way back to the last room and when I try to leave it through the maintenance elevator, it still crashes. I'm looking for any ideas because I'd really like to complete this dlc, but I can't. -- 09:05, November 10, 2011 (UTC)

I had the exact same issue. Since I could not find anyone anywhere that had the same issue I went into the GECK and removed a lot of script from the ending script that just wasn't needed. I posted what I removed on another site. I'll copy it here: "deleted the disabling of 4 eyebots in the door script. Then on the ending script I removed the disabling player controls line, the two lines about the nightperson perk, all the healing lines, and the items regarding the wild wasteland. I highly suspect it was the timer and delay they used to prevent wild wasteland from popping up when you target both NCR and Legion. Either way, editing the scripts as I did changed nothing and enabled me to continue the game." KaisarDragon 04:11, November 11, 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for the info. I was trying to find solution using the console, but I suppose I'll be diving into the GECK. Thanks again for all the specifics. It'll make things a lot easier. 05:31, November 11, 2011 (UTC)
That was super easy and it worked perfectly. Solved the crashing. I didn't remove the line about setting dehydration and hunger and whatnot since I was on hardcore and it didn't seem to affect it much. 05:42, November 11, 2011 (UTC)
I only removed things once. I didn't add that part back to mine as your health is restored again (redundant) when you are teleported back to the Mojave. I'm glad it worked for you. Since I removed so much that had no impact on the game, I was never sure which one actually caused the crash. KaisarDragon 03:43, November 12, 2011 (UTC)

Brotherhood of Steel[edit source]

Was anyone else surprised you gained rep for not nuking the NCR/Legion... I would of thought the Brotherhood would of been happy as heck for seeing the NCR nuked to the stone age. They hate each other afterall.... just seemed really weird to me.Arkady16 23:33, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
