If hes wearing a variant of the Vault Lab Coat, then that means he had to have been in a vault one time or another...CheezeWEEPツ 11:56, February 3, 2010 (UTC)

Or (s)he simply took it from a vault dweller. For example, the Vault 101 residents had plenty of contact with the outside world before Almodovar took over. -- Porter21 (talk) 11:59, February 3, 2010 (UTC)
How would a Vault resident even make it this far into the ruins of D.C.? As you can see, near the Red Racer Factory, there are many Raiders, they probably would have been there for awhile. But that still dosen't rule out that The Scientist was a Vault resident. CheezeWEEPツ 12:13, February 3, 2010 (UTC)
It does not rule out that the Surgeon has been to a vault, but it doesn't necessitate it either (as you implied in your first post). Regarding your other point, who says that the vault resident came to Red Racer or that would even be necessary? Just because the Surgeon is there at the time of FO3 doesn't mean (s)he's been there forever. In fact, your own theory requires that (s)he would have left Red Racer, otherwise (s)he couldn't have been to a vault. -- Porter21 (talk) 12:38, February 3, 2010 (UTC)
