Cancelation[]

Did they ever report why the game got cancelled? Could add that to the page. User:Keimei~ 01:14, August 5, 2011 (UTC) .

The current explanation for why the game was cancelled says that Van Buren was cancelled on account of Bethesda buying the rights to the Fallout franchise. This is both wrong and impossible. Van Buren was cancelled in 2003 because Interplay was on the verge of bankruptcy and laid off the entire team. Bethesda didn't license rights to make a sequel in the Fallout franchise until after this happened, and it wouldn't be until 2007 that they actually purchased the franchise from Interplay. I would edit the page myself to reflect this, but it's protected. 76.27.246.134 15:12, February 23, 2013 (UTC)

Prisoner[]

Who reckons that, even though it wasn't by the same develepor (Black Isle, not Bethesda), that the beginning of the game may have been a reference/homage to the Elder Scrolls series, because that's how EVERY SINGLE GAME starts out: The player is a prisoner.( Just incase you havn't played them) - BURNBAG 83!! 13:36, January 2, 2012 (UTC)

Anywhere to get this game?[]

I keep reading stuff about this game and its story and i want to know if there is anywhere i can play it because i want to know the full fallout story without reading most of it. it must be somewhere otherwise how could so much about it be on here? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Brenton239 (talkcontribs). Unfortunately, only a little of the game was released—never in its full incarnation. You can play the tech demo, but it only shows a little of the game (a tutorial, to be exact). You can also check out this mod, which seems to be in surprisingly good shape, but it’s unofficial. --Rottweiler (Woof? Ruff!) 10:17, March 24, 2016 (UTC)

Phrasing[]

Apparently this page is protected, so a question whether anybody can change the "places cut from the final version of the game" part - there was no version of the game, much less a "final version". So places cut during development or similar would be more appropriate. --93.232.130.140 03:44, April 6, 2016 (UTC)
