Stub[]

I removed the stub tag as the article actually seems to have plenty of content. V.A.T.S. addict 22:35, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Think vault 13 will ever see the light of day again?[]

No. That Furry Bastard 01:37, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
Maybe in Project V13? Ausir 01:42, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
Hope so,It would be nice to see where it all started..... Fniff1 15:38, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
If you want to see where it all started, play FO1 and FO2. Ausir 17:28, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
I mean after it all started, IN 3D! Fniff1 20:17, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
I'd rather see FO1 and 2 remade into a 360 version before "New Vegas". Cali baby! V.A.T.S. addict 22:35, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
NO. Next remark like that and I ban you out of spite. 15px-Scribe.jpg Tagaziel (call!) 22:52, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
I'd rather see Fallout 3 remade in the style of the older games. The older games on the 360 is what we call "franchise--". Mmm, Crispy... 13:26, February 22, 2010 (UTC)

Never going to happen. And for a good reason. The old gameplay is garbage compared to the new. Not to mention alone, FO3 and FONV has sold more than the others combined. --Ccrogers15 (talk) 09:21, July 5, 2013 (UTC)

I'm trying to get yo Vault 13 in FO2, but it won't let me that far south. Error or am I missing something? XeroSnake

who would win?[]

this is just for fun. who would win in a 1v1v1 fight and why; the vault dweller, the chosen one, or the lone wanderer?

The lone wanderer, as he has FPS life hax on. By the way this should be in the forum - User:Dude101

I just realised[]

Has anyone else noticed that Vault 13 was supposed to open in the same year that Fallout 3 is set in? That's 2277 by the way, in case you didn't know. Do you reckon this could be a reference by the developers of FO3, or just a coincidence? Smileitsantony 19:27, March 17, 2010 (UTC)

um..... why does this page have a different layout?

nevermind.

Approximate location[]

So what isthe approximate location of vault 13 via google maps? i want to know what the saerrounding area is like ralok 23:46, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

Could someone please explain to me what this sentence means?[]

covering 3200000 tons of soil at 200 feet

I deleted this sentence from the page because I couldn't make sense of it. I also changed the power needs of the computer to 3.89 MW as mkw is not a valid abbreviation of any kind of power usage that I'm aware of. I don't have any way of checking the info. -LawdyMissMaudy 04:30, August 12, 2011 (UTC)

Reads like nonsense, unless they meant to put squared feet... or another measurement of area. At 200 feet may have meant 200 feet below the surface. User:Great_MaraUser talk:Great_Mara 04:34, August 12, 2011 (UTC)
Oh, never mind, I found the statistics on the Vault Dweller's Survival Guide page. And IT says "mkw"! wtf? -LawdyMissMaudy 04:39, August 12, 2011 (UTC)
I've seen a lowercase 'm' used to denote 'million' before, perhaps it was meant to be an abbreviation for 3.89 million kilowatts? User:Great_MaraUser talk:Great_Mara 04:44, August 12, 2011 (UTC)
Except "million" isn't really used in the decimal system, is it? It goes from kilo- to mega- to giga-. This is definitely the current nomenclature used with watts. But I suppose there must be a pre-decimal way of doing it, coz watts have been around for a while. -LawdyMissMaudy 04:01, August 13, 2011 (UTC)
I dunno. I tried looking for my basic electricity textbook earlier today but couldn't find it, so I don't know about what different abbreviations could be used. User:Great_MaraUser talk:Great_Mara 04:05, August 13, 2011 (UTC)
The fact that it has the /day part might mean the m is for another unit like minutes. I have never heard of anyone talking about kilowatt minutes before though. A kilowatt is a unit of power not energy so dividing by a day would be nonsense. It would need another time unit in the numerator. BaseEight (talk) 22:57, March 24, 2013 (UTC)

Overseer's Command-center "chair"[]

so whatever happend to the overseer's "chair"? (the one with the two big gattling guns) i have a vauge memory of the dweller's trading it away to the brotherhood? or am i completely wrong??

In a word, yes. Whatever happened to it happened long after the Vault Dweller had left. The computer that replaced it was installed by the brotherhood after the coup that removed the overseer. Agent c (talk) 22:21, October 20, 2013 (UTC)

Vault 13 Survivors[]

I've read this page a few times now, and I'm wondering why the possible survivors of the intelligent deathclaws, Goris and Xarn, aren't mentioned. Given the information on the Intelligent Deathclaw page, wouldn't it make sense to mention them as part of Vault 13's ending inhabitants (or lack thereof)? It's annoying that information on these two's fate isn't conclusive, but I think it should be part of the article.

The Enclave and Vault 13[]

Why is it stated in this article and on the timeline that the Enclave opened Vault 13 in 2241? The specific dates that are used were only given by Chris Avellone in Fallout Bible, and he indicated that they were in 2242, not 2241. Vader0629 (talk) 00:12, December 13, 2018 (UTC)

Mt. Whitney[]

There is to my knowledge and from a lot of searching, no reference to Vault 13 being underneath Mt. Whitney, this appears to be a long running misconception. The closest reference is in Fallout Bible 8, where Chris Avellone says "3. I don't know. I don't think so - but I'll ask the creators. If any of the creators of F1 read this and know the answer, feel free to email me." in regard to Mt. Whitney. Runninfar (talk) 18:17, April 27, 2020 (UTC)

I hope this isn't seen as a spurious edit given im a new user. So I looked over the edit history: March 13, 2005 by Angela is the original occurrence of Mt. Whitney being mentioned. Where it's entirely speculative. Further it changed from speculative to "authoritative" in tone in a July 16th, 2011 edit by‎ Itachou with no citationRunninfar (talk) 18:28, April 27, 2020 (UTC)
