I'm new, so sorry if this isn't formatted correctly. The first time I went to Walter with scrap metal, I had 7 pieces. I tried to sell him all of them, but could only sell 5. I've tried numerous times since then to sell the other 2 and a few others I've picked up, but it won't give me the option to sell anymore at all. Does anyone know what that's about?? I'm still low level and hurting for caps. Thanks. 71.208.115.205 01:08, January 24, 2010 (UTC)Deanna

There should be a "Just take all the scrap metal I have" option, as well as a "No charge" one for karma. If they aren't there, maybe you didn't fix the leaks, or you declined to collect it...Dunno why otherwise. Tzaro the Outcast 16:14, January 24, 2010 (UTC)
Given the fact their is unlimited scrap metal in the game, is the "take all" option limited to 99 scrap metal like some other quests of this sort or could you potentially level from 29 to 30 and from 30 to 31? I realize there is no level 31, but can you get the exp bar/pip boy to show you're ready for lvl 31 if it were available? Mictlantecuhtli 16:16, August 16, 2010 (UTC)

Scrap Metal Counter[]

Dunno if anyone will ever read this, but let's give it a try.

Is there anything like an ingame counter, like a global variable or something I could view via console, that would tell me how many scrap metal parts I gave Walter (or some other NPC for that matter)? I'd be quite curious about how much it has already been and maybe there's some way to tell.

Bug existing also on PC[]

In the bug section, it's stated that for xbox plateform: "If you bring Walter some scrap metal (tested with more than five scrap metal units) there is among the possible statements : "Eden wanted me to contaminate the water with a virus", which is something you can tell to Elder Owyn Lyons when coming back from Raven Rock." I also just encountered the same bug on PC (after selling the 5 scraps I had).
