"bug info"/Link confirms story untrue

Someone needs to lock this article. Damn kids keep not only removing the bug info but also VANDALIZING the page while doing so. -- 20:33, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

There is no bug, nor is there a hoax. Someone at Something Awful posted an animated GIF of Dogmeat shooting lasers (titled shhhthisisajoke.gif). Some especially gullible individuals started spreading news of this "bug" around and now it refuses to die.
It was actually pretty funny before morons started thinking it was really in the game. http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=2995694&userid=0&perpage=40&pagenumber=114 14:40, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
I'll add that to the page. Mirar 09:14, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

I call bullshit.
This guy's going BAWWWWW because a bug results in an effect similiar to what he created. The Vault doesn't deal in butthurt, I'm afraid. Shaur M. S. Grizlin 19:21, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
"Some dude accuses me of "bawwwww"ing. THIS IS LIKE INTERNET FIRST COMMUNION FOR ME" *sigh* A simple bug gets one guy wanting to sue. I mean it's possible that Bethesda really does not even acknowledge the bug at all. Hell I doubt it's even planned for "game humor", it was a simple bug, but some artist who craves money waits for the possible time to get even more money. I'm sorry, I support artists and such but when shit like this happens, it's just ridiculous. I mean it'd be one thing if Wazer Wifle made the fucking dog/wolf shoot from his fucking eyes. THEN YOU CAN TALK, for fuck sakes.
Any information on how to recreate the bug, or at least a youtube video of it? Otherwise I call BS too. (And learn to sign: Four tildes.) Mirar 14:54, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
Butthurt DA kiddies (whining about somthing that is a HOAX might I add)? in MY wiki?! --Rylasasin2008 08:27, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
I noticed someone removed the hoax information (why??!). It's back now, with console commands if anyone wants to try it themselves... that or SAMMICHES I IZ A FAGGY FUCK. Mirar 10:00, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

How do you equip dogmeat with this?

I've been trying to kill him and place it in his inventory but thats not working, and if you KO him with essential on, you can't modify his inventory.

Update: I believe this may be a fake, as when you equip dogmeat with the wazer wifle it just appears under his legs and he sits there pathetically wondering what to do.-- 19:43, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

Update 2: I've now Para Palm'ed him, used the console to equip him with it, knocked him out, killed him, and none of it seems to work. He can equip it but he won't fire it, he'll just go and bite his enemies.

There's a cheat (look at Notes) to make Dogmeat invincible. Even when you knock him out, there's no inventory on him.

Well, uh, I've not gotten the Paralyzing Palm perk yet, but I've managed to knock him down and get into his inventory (He was standing too close to a gas leak when I threw a grenade in there to clear it out. Light Dogmeat on fire, knocked him down, and let me get into his inventory.), gave him some stimpacks, the Wazer Rifle, and some ammo. I haven't seen him bark lasers yet though. Also, this was on the 360.--Three Dog 03:08, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

This isn't real, seriously, stop it. Dogmeat can't bark lasers. Ever.

There is a mod that allows dog meat to have guns on his back which he fires, beyond that there is no legit way to give him anything he can actually use, now shadap about it you cockroaches.

Hahahaha. I was reminded by the 'Bolt' commercial when you said "Bark Lasers"! 04:14, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

The Wazer Wifle is superior in every way to the Lazer Rifle (stronger, bigger clip cell capacity, even degrades slower). So, why is it worth 100 caps less? Not really that big a deal, but I am curious.Fiddlesoup 22:41, 19 December 2008 (UTC)

Guess you'll have to ask a dev about that :-) // Porter21 U | T | C 22:47, 19 December 2008 (UTC)

Is it possible the Wazer Wifle is the AER12 Laser Rifle mentioned on the Citadel Terminal next to the room where Durga's shop is? The AER12 is mentioned as being superior but also being extremely rare in the Capital Wasteland. I saw this and thought it worth a mention. -- 14:12, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Certainly a possibility, the Wazer has 800 more hit points which translate easily into greater reliability. It also has good damage, good ammo capacity and excellent range with its 0 spread accuracy. It may overall be the most reliable game, User:LordVukodlak 12 June 2009

But the terminal in the citadel says that the AER12 was less durable than the AER9. The Wazer Wifle is more durable than the AER9.--Chipgambino 22:35, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

Wazew Wifwe

Shouldn't it be called that? 23:43, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

Why?--Kingclyde 00:42, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
That's smart thinking. The L in laser and the R in rifle turn in to W's, so the L in rifle and the R in laser should. Maybe he doesn't really have a lisp. Nitpicker of the Wastes 00:49, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
There is a clear "errrrr" at the end of wazer. I can hear it at least.--Kingclyde 00:52, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
Sure, but shouldn't a person with a speech problem like Biwwy not be able to make an "L" sound at all? He even says it's "only five hundwed caps". His name doesn't have any L's, implying that he can't say them... so we've got a kid with a military-grade laser, and a fake lisp. Nitpicker of the Wastes 01:00, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
My friend's son has a speech problem. His is very similar. He has issues with r's but can say l's just fine. He says the l in my name good and clear--Kingclyde 01:03, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
Yeah that is not exactly how lisps work. Just because you can't say them at some parts of a word doesn't mean you cant say them at others. It has a lot to do with what letters come before the letters the person has trouble with. I think it was just meant to be cute, not some secret plot. --User:HAT 04:20, September 10, 2009 (UTC)

Sounds to me like he's saying "Wazuh Wiful". Tzaro the Outcast 10:43, January 20, 2010 (UTC)

Same. AreYouGoingToEatThatNuke? 00:50, January 20, 2010 (UTC)

"R" and "L" are actually different sounds depending where they occur in the word. Think of people whose first language is Chinese. When they say the word "peal" it sounds like they are saying pear. But they can say "like" without any problems. And if you listen to Russians, they will often say things wessel instead of "vessel" but they will say haff instead of "have". strategy moved from article

  • This weapon is more powerful than it seems. In V.A.T.S. its possible for a leveled character to fire eight (8) aimed-shots in a row. Using Ranger Battle Armor and Ledoux's Hockey Mask in combination with consumables it is possible to get off a whopping 13 shots in VATS with this weapon.
  • The low AP cost per shot makes it work extremely well with the Concentrated Fire perk. With the aforementioned 8 shots in VATS you could raise your chance to hit by 40%.
  • Combined with the Commando and Sniper perks and its intrinsic high accuracy, this amounts to incredible headshot chances at long ranges, making it the energy weapon enthusiast's sniper rifle (discounting the Gauss Rifle, which has a scope, but is only available with the Operation: Anchorage DLC installed and completed). The zero spread also allows precise sniping outside V.A.T.S.
  • If you have downloaded Broken Steel, this weapon and the Metal Blaster become significantly harder to repair if you want to keep on good terms with the Brotherhood of Steel and the Outcasts, because more Enclave Soldiers carry Plasma rifles than Laser Rifles. However Talon mercs and the regulators can still provide a rather steady supply as they tend to wield such weapons at higher levels.

--Kingclyde 06:55, September 20, 2009 (UTC)

I want the policy quoted that makes this unsuitable for the mainpage of the article. Just because you think its stupid doesn't mean everyone else does.

It's not suitable. Every admin will tell you that. http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/thumb/4/4a/Naglowaa_se.gif/11px-Naglowaa_se.gif Tagaziel (call!) 07:33, September 20, 2009 (UTC)
And if he wants me to quote policy, there is a policy about signing your posts when you are completed. If we left in a few strategies in the article, it begins to get out of hand. Look at the history of the firelance article. Nothing but "in my opinion, use this" and "if I use item x, it will happen". That kind of information is best left in forums or at least the discussion page. Even the discussion page is pushing it as it is for discussing the article not individual recommendations or experience. Thanks and have a great day!--Kingclyde 09:15, September 20, 2009 (UTC)

Rate of Fire

Why rof revert? I just added correct rof values for a few weapons based on Attacks Shot/Sec value (from GECK). Also based on same work done by KnightNapier earlier this day for all small guns in base game (so I though it was ok to help a bit and add those values for a few more weapons). It is also based on earlier discussion on weapon template with Porter21, so I though it was OK (since KnightNapier values weren't reverted by anybody). P22 10:52, September 26, 2009 (UTC)

i know its probably common knowledge that the wazer wifle equipping on dog meat is a hoax, but just to hammer the final nail in the coffin,IT DOESN'T WORK, IT NEVER DID, IT NEVER WILL, even with pc commands he wont fire it he will only melee, so just forget about the whole stupid thing, its done, dead, finite'*unloads eugene in dogmeat*Toolazytomakeaaccount 06:52, October 16, 2009 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure the article sums that up already.--Kingclyde 08:34, October 16, 2009 (UTC)

Wazer Wifle v. A3-21's Plasma Rifle

Which do you think is better? please give examples to defend your answer. I just want to know what you guys think and why.

very valid question, A3-21's plasma rifle is good because it has a decent critical rate and is quick to reload. as for wazer wifle, it has a good damage, also a decent critical rate, so all it comes down to is your preference, i honestly get both because well..why not? collecting unique items is like, some of the funnest stuff in fallout 3.Toolazytomakeaaccount 20:39, October 18, 2009 (UTC)

It depends on range. Long range Wazer Wifle has no spread, it works well outdoors on long distances. The shots are fast. The plasma rifle is better indoors, when the opponent has less time to dodge the slow moving shot. It's stronger but very impractical outside of mid and short ranges. I carry both!!! Setimir92 20:55, October 18, 2009 (UTC)

Personally i feel that both weapons compliment each other, i typically have both on my quick select inventory. Just like the guy above me i use them at the ranges that they are best suited for, the Wazer Rifle is a rugged long ranged marksman type weapon with absolute precision and a large "magazine" while A3-21's Plasma Rifle is a short ranged assault weapon (maybe medium range against stationary targets)that is hard hitting and has a quick rate of fire for an energy weapon. Who knows maybe the developers intended them to compliment each other!--BattleBen 04:53, October 19, 2009 (UTC)

why under damage

does it say it does 50k dmg and shoot 2k shots a second?Toolazytomakeaaccount 03:18, November 14, 2009 (UTC)

To answer your question, it doesn't. They have decimals in the numbers, denoting a fractioned number. For example, the DPS of the Wazer Wifle is actually 59(.)3195. The decimal is just hard to see on the main page's chart. Kale Nekona 04:16, March 18, 2010 (UTC)

Just random

My little brother laughed so hard when he heard him say "Hi, I'm biwwy." Just pointing it out randomly.--XG33Kx 05:50, November 25, 2009 (UTC)

AER12 Laser Rifle

I was reading the archive and there seems to be a lot of speculation that the Wazer Wifle is the AER12. I think it is, because there is quite a lot of evidence that suggest it is. It is more powerful, it has a higher MCFC cap and has a somewhat high critical rate. I know what your thinking 'its to durable, it is supposed to break in 1/3 of the time it would take an AER9' your actually wrong. What it actually said was it was less likely to survive the Nuclear Holocaust, not that it was less durable. Saying its less durable is like saying that a Lion or a Tiger is extremely weak, that's why it is extinct, not because of the Nuclear Holocaust. The Victorious Phoenix

Hey, someone removed the note on the AER12. Why? The Victorious Phoenix

Because your "story" was based on a speculation and not a rational fact. 21:13, October 1, 2010 (UTC)Scyther

Why Is The Wazer Wifle Worth Only 900 Caps While A Standard AER9 Laser Rifle Is Worth 1000 Caps? The Wazer Wifle Has Better Stats And Is Unique So Shouldn't It Be Worth More? Ullyses = Epic 12:10, July 17, 2011 (UTC)

Because the wazer wifle is worth only 500 in game. It is unique it means it is not a standard weapon referenced in the manufacturer list. Perhaps the merchant will think it is just a counterfeit rifle and it is unreliable. So he can be suspicious and will buy it for less than the value of the standard reliable rifle he knows. In this game you can imagine your own story. Seriously, it has no importance, the weapon is not on sale at any merchant and you don't really plan to sell it, do you ?Croquignol 17:53, July 27, 2011 (UTC)
