The People's Republic of China was the leading communist nation before the Great War, as well as a military, economic, and technological rival of the United States during the 21st century. As oil became a more and more rare resource, tensions with the United States increased, eventually culminating in the Chinese invasion of Anchorage, Alaska. After the development of power armor, American retaliation followed in form of the Anchorage Reclamation and the Yangtze Campaign. Even after the Great War, Chinese influences still exist as the Shi of San Fransisco, the Chinese Remnant in the Capital Wasteland and individual Chinese descendants that are sometimes sympathetic to their ancestors.
