Bighorners are mutated bighorn sheep that inhabit temperate and mountainous regions of the Mojave Wasteland. Several settlements, like Goodsprings and Jacobstown have also domesticated the animals and use them for their horns, meat, and hides. However, according to Easy Pete, a rancher in Goodsprings, they are a terrible choice for pack animals as "they just lie down until you take [the load] off." In the wild, bighorners form small herds of three to seven, with a couple bulls, ewes and calves in a herd. They are quite docile until they are provoked, at which point they headbutt aggressors with their large horns and are capable of sending them back several meters.
