The Interloper is a creature appearing in Fallout 76.

The Interloper is a large stagnate creature lying in the hidden depths of the Lucky Hole Mine. It has the ability of psychosis[1] and numerous other supernatural abilities, including alteration of the nearby landscape[2].

Surrounding the creature are large metallic masks, similar to ones you can find in Watoga and in a cave in Tanagra Town, leading to the thought of perhaps a previous ancient civilization that lived in the area.

It is unknown of what the Interloper is or how it came to be. The only mention of him is in the pre-recorded holotapes by Jeff Lane describing how the creature is contacting him and others in the Mothman Cult. He first appeared to an individual known as "First Priestess of the Wood", who was eventually buried in the Mine.[3] Later, he appeared once more in the mind of Jeff Lane,[4] causing him to denounce The Mothman and seek him out in the depths of the Lucky Hole Mine along with the rest of the cultists.[5] Upon the group moving in, multiple inexplicable supernatural events occurred, including a natural spring coming forth to feed them [6]

It is unknown if the creature is alive or dead, perhaps being only in a “sleeping” state, as the tentacles on it’s face occasionally move and it bleeds if hit by the player-character.

The Interloper appears only in Fallout 76.
