The higher your Throwing skill, the more likely you are to hurl a thrown weapon like a rock, Molotov cocktail or grenade exactly where you want to.

Throwing is a skill in Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics. It was called Missiles late in the Van Buren design schedule. In Fallout 3, the throwing skill has been removed and parts of the skill, like grenades, has been moved to the explosives skill.

Initial level

The initial skill is determined as follows:

Example: A starting Agility of 5.

Though the Throwing skill was removed from Fallout 3, this change was not made until partway through development of the game. The Throwing skill itself remains in the game's resources, but is not included in the skill menu and is not used by any weapons or items. One NPC class, EnclaveBigGuns, includes Throwing as a tagged skill.

The editor "slot" used by the Throwing skill (including its Form ID) was later repurposed for the Survival skill in Fallout: New Vegas.
