Hello, stranger. I'm Tinker Joe, premier supplier of robotic parts and service throughout the DC Wasteland.

Tinker Joe is a merchant travelling near the RobCo facility in Fallout 3.

Background[edit | edit source]

This wandering merchant sells a variety of junk, equipment, and weaponry, but also dabbles in scavenging and selling robot parts. He’s built a good rapport with Wastelanders, and Sheriff Simms of Megaton is particularly happy with his purchase of Deputies Steel and Weld. He can currently be seen wandering the wastes with his robotic entourage, which includes an old Mister Gutsy army unit named Sergeant RL-3.[1]

His list of clients is extensive and includes Stiggs, who purchased Hoover.[2]

Daily schedule[edit | edit source]

Tinker Joe moves between the following locations:

  • Northwest of the RobCo facility building.
  • The parking area south of the RobCo facility building (around 8 in the morning).
  • The cross road east of Tenpenny Tower, south of the RobCo facility.

Interactions with the player character[edit | edit source]

Interactions overview[edit | edit source]

Barter.png
This character is a merchant. Caps: 10-90
Sells: Miscellaneous items, including large amounts of scrap metal.

Other interactions[edit | edit source]

  • Joe sells Sergeant RL-3, a robot companion, for the price of 1000 bottle caps (500 with a passed barter check) if the Lone Wanderer has a neutral karma. If he is dead the player will not be able to acquire Sergeant RL-3.
  • Note that Tinker Joe wanders around the area and may run into wild beasts that will kill him. If he can't be found, that's likely the case.
