The tire iron is a weapon in Fallout: New Vegas.

Characteristics[edit | edit source]

This rusty old tire iron was normally used for loosening nuts from car tires, but is now used to loosen teeth. It has a damage on par with the pool cue but requires one more Strength to use effectively. The tire iron additionally has a quick rate of attack, giving it a decent damage-per-second. However, this Strength requirement is only 3, so it hardly matters. It is an efficient early weapon for an inexperienced Courier.

It's special V.A.T.S. attack is "Lights Out", which does 125% damage at the cost of 35 action points (requires a Melee skill of 50). Outside of V.A.T.S. it can be used as a power attack. When used the player charges forward, jumps with the weapon raised above his/her head and strikes downward.
