Cazadores are extremely deadly, but they are also reclusive. Try looking near the Red Rock's canyons.Red Lucy

The tribal village is a location in the Mojave Wasteland in 2281, located just north of Goodsprings.

Background[]

This village was previously a simple tribal settlement. In 2281, it was raided by Fiends who were rampaging in the area while high on Psycho. Their leader used a flamer in the assault, burning many of the inhabitants to death.

At the time of the attack, Benny and his hired group of Great Khans were traveling nearby on their way to ambush a courier carrying a special package for Mr. House. Having noticed a sign that Fiends were near, Benny wished to go around and find a different route. However, one of the Khans, Chance, was suffering from PTSD and drug withdrawals, and the fire and burned bodies had triggered memories of the Bitter Springs Massacre. He charged into battle, forcing the rest of the group to help him, ultimately emerging victorious, but not without casualties. Chance suffered from severe burns from killing the Fiend leader, and would overdose on Psycho later that night after Benny recounted the story of the singer to him and left the drug by his side.

By the time the Courier awakens in the Mojave Wasteland, the camp is overrun by cazadores, an outcome which was predicted by McMurphy following their victory against the Fiends.[Non-game 1]

Layout[]

The village consists of tents surrounded by steep cliffs. The tents are set up in a half-circle against the eastern cliffside. A usable campfire is in the center. Heading out of the village to the left will reveal a hollowed-out rock with random loot inside. Fire axes can be found on some of the Fiends' corpses. Chance's grave is located on a hill overlooking the village.

Notes[]

  • The location's ambient music is a loop of "Flame of the Ancient World," from Fallout.
  • The Psycho and Jet lying around the campfire are remnants of the party thrown by the drugged-up Fiends following their massacre of the residents.
  • There are Great Khan corpses among those of the Fiends. There is no indication in All Roads of any of the Great Khans dying in the fight apart from Chance, who was given a special burial.
  • If Lily Bowen is a follower when visiting, she says, "Oh my, did I do all of this?"
  • In All Roads, Benny's group suggests that they go up north, so they can circle east around the Fiends attacking the camp, though the game map does not suggest such an option.

Appearances[]

The tribal village appears in Fallout: New Vegas and the graphic novel All Roads.

Behind the scenes[]

The tribal village is located in the same geographical area as the real-world Lovell Canyon Campground, at the foot of the Spring Mountains in Clark County, Nevada.

Bugs[]

  • PCPC Playstation 3Playstation 3Playstation 3 Xbox 360Xbox 360 The bodies and/or cazadores may disappear, however reloading a save and revisiting the camp later may cause them to reappear (along with any ravens that were killed). Similarly, all of the Fiends may be alive and fighting the cazadores upon arrival.[verified]
  • PCPC Playstation 3Playstation 3Playstation 3 Xbox 360Xbox 360 Occasionally, the burned bodies may actually be alive. They will attack the Courier on sight with only their fists (or may pick up a nearby weapon left on the dead bodies), or be in a fleeing state due to damage received by the enemies mentioned in the bug above as they can occur simultaneously. They display as having 0 HP with the Living Anatomy perk, and thus die from any hit (granting good Karma upon being killed by the Courier), but can be a threat when fast traveling to the site, particularly if the other enemies respawn as well.[verified]
  • PCPC Playstation 3Playstation 3Playstation 3 Xbox 360Xbox 360 Fast traveling to the camp may result in witnessing a fight between cazadores, Fiends, and (now alive) burned bodies.[verified]
