This purifier would provide clean water to Underpass, if it were functional. Whoever assembled it had no idea what they were doing - many parts are connected incorrectly or hooked up backwards. Someone with the proper knowledge could easily get the purifier operational.

— Cut interaction note for the purifier Underpass, copied from the Sloan generator message

The Underpass is a cut location in Fallout: New Vegas.

Layout[edit | edit source]

Underpass would have been located on the northern edge of Vegas, between Field's shack and the unmarked Carlyle St. Clair's house in the west. This small community would have struggled with its water purifier, as the cut freeform quest would have indicated, and be governed by Meg Reynolds. Surviving assets in the form of farm fields, wild brahmin, and the Mojave home used for farming maize and turning it into moonshine suggest that it would be a farming settlement.[1]

Only the aforementioned Mojave home and Carlyle St. Clair's house remain in the game, together with a number of cut Underpass citizens and Meg Reynolds persisting in the game's files (notable for their use of a single type of clothing).
