Protect Uranium Extractors while they collect valuable nuclear material.

Event: Uranium Fever is a public event in Fallout 76. It can become a mutated public event with the Reflective, regenerating, or Volatile mutations, as of the Mutation Invasion update.

Quick walkthrough[]

  • Speak to the Blackwater Auto-Foreman.
  • Initiate the extraction process.
  • Protect the extractors as they extract uranium.

Detailed walkthrough[]

The surface area and mine is occupied by mole miners. Approach and listen to the Blackwater Auto-Foreman Protectron at the entrance to the mine. The player character may need to wait for the quest to become accessible; if it is not available, the foreman will say, "System is currently OFFLINE" and urge the player character to "return later." Once welcomed by the foreman, enter the mine and navigate through the rooms to the right side of the tracks, using the terminal on the wall to initiate the extraction process. Wolves, radrats, or mole rats will spawn along the way before crossing the bridge over water contaminated with leaking radioactive barrels that cause a temporary spike in radiation when passing through the area, so radiation protection here is needed. Three of the units, Extractors Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie, will begin emitting a green, highly-radioactive gas generated by the uranium as it is drawn up from underground and processed, and will be attacked by mole miners, glowing or a stronger variant based on player levels. Occasionally, if the system voice mentions "terminated management personnel," a legendary mole miner will spawn. This happens at least three times during the event. Maintain repairs as the attacks continue, as a disabled extractor will require 10 units of steel to be repaired and returned to service; once the bar is filled, or the timer expires, the extraction process will complete, as will the quest. The more the bar is filled when the timer for the quest expires, the more rewards will be given, indicated when the system voice says, "Adequate uranium volume extracted and processed. Output quantity increased." To achieve the maximum, Level 4 reward, the extractors total downtime cannot be more than 40 seconds. Afterward, claim the loot left behind by the mole miners, especially the legendary ones, as there is a weapon workbench just outside the extraction room where scrapping can be done.

(Important note: interacting with the Auto-Foreman does not stop or alter the event expiration timer that begins when the event appears on the map. The player must enter the Blackwater Mine after interacting with the Foreman and proceed to the extraction room to truly begin the event itself. After talking to the Auto-Foreman, all players fast traveling to the event will automatically appear inside the Blackwater Mine outside the extraction room. Players should avoid delaying interacting with the Auto-Foreman and give themselves at least two minutes to travel to the extraction room to initiate the extraction process to account for the time delay of loading into the Blackwater mine.)
