Fallout 2 Official Strategies & Secrets
  • Joanne Lynette
  • Area 51 p.335
  • TV-town p.335
  • Master's Army mobile fortress p.335
  • Adult Deathclaws p.28: "What does an Adult Deathclaw eat? Whatever it wants to. The Adult Deathclaw is always at the top of the food chain wherever it happens to be. Often, several Deathclaws live together and protect an Alfa-female with a brood of eggs. When you run into one Deathclaw, look around—there almost certainly will be more."
  • Baby Deathclaws p.28: "The Baby Deathclaw is a smaller version of its parents. It's not cute and cuddly, though; in fact, it's still extremely dangerous. Deathclaws cut their young loose early, so the presence of a Baby Deathclaw doesn't necessarily mean that mom or dad are nearby. However, that won't make your job much easier."
  • Intelligent Deathclaws p.28: "Intelligent Deathclaws come in both adult and baby sizes. They don't look different from other Deathclaws, but they do act differently—at least when they're angry. If a Deathclaw doesn't charge you on sight, it may be intelligent—it's possible to talk to Intelligent Deathclaws. However, Intelligent Deathclaws have the same ferocious abandon in combat as their dimmer brethren, so a policy of détente is definitely not recommended."
  • Shady Sands p.190: "The NCR is a clean town filled with honest, hardworking folk—at least that's how President-for-life Tandi would like to have it. The reality falls somewhat short of that goal. The NCR does keep order within its walls with a large and competent police force. Outside the walls, the NCR has so far been operating through others, buying and trading for things that they cannot yet take by open force."

New Inventory Standardization Project[edit | edit source]

                    NEW INVENTORY STANDARDIZATION

In the interests of this wiki I have whipped up a standardization format for the New Inventory templates.
I believe that this needs to be written down properly somewhere so as to expand upon what is alredy here.

* Two images in the Image row needed?

This is the standard Inventory Layout. This is for ONLY links, No Descriptions of Weapon(s) and/or Armor/Clothing.

Image = Is to be the Sprite of the character in question, Without Any weapons.
Size = Is always to be set at "auto".
Apparel = Is ONLY to be IF a Sprite is using an actual item, otherwise it is to be left blank.
Weapon = Is ONLY to be IF a Sprite has the an acutal item(s), otherwise it is to be left blank. If the weapon uses ammuniton that ammunition must be counted and added to this line.
Otheritem = Is ONLY to be IF a Sprite has an actual item that is neither a weapon, armor/clothing, or only avalible if dead.
Ondeath = Is ONLY to be IF a Sprite has an actual item that is only avalible if the character dies.

IF There are more then one sprite then multiple Inventory templates must be used. This is to clarify which, generic or otherwise, character is which and what their individual inventories are.

Terminal entries project[edit | edit source]

  • ALL pages must be moved from "terminal entries" to "terminals"!!
  • Make the terminal information itself in the green and font of the games!! (As to better express the entries themselves and/or distinguish them from any notes that may be on the page.)
  • Make the new coding able to discern text art!!!
  • Make project page!!!!
  • GECK verify ALL terminal entries

Fallout 3 terminal entries[edit | edit source]

-Go Over All Terminal Entries!!!!!!!--

Fallout: New Vegas terminal entries[edit | edit source]

List of entries not reviewed by me yet...

  • Lucky 38 terminal entries -- Verification needed
  • Vault 21 terminal entries
Dead Money terminal entries
  • Sinclair: E.B.E -- Terminal name, Location, Content, and "Bugged" Status NEEDS to be Verified by GECK.
Honest Hearts terminal entries
  • "Randall Clark's journal" -- Either Overview or Deletion
Old World Blues terminal entries
  • Forbidden Zone Dome terminal entries
  • X-13 research facility terminal entries -- usual scripting, grammar, and what-have-you -- one item not accounted for, its parameter is needed as well
  • X-8 research center terminal entries -- usual scripting, grammar, and what-have-you -- Use the "xxxxx" to check for the specific sections requiring attention
Lonesome Road terminal entries
  • Ulysses' temple terminal entries -- message files within the temple consoles

Fallout: New Vegas terminal entries

All Must be verified for Scripting, Grammar, Content, and Standardization.
  1. Scripting; the How, What, and Why of the Commands and Entries.
  2. Grammar; of the various Notes sections.
  3. Content; Must be a Direct copy-paste from the GECK editor!
  4. Standardization; As Follows
Standardized, Grammatically correct, header.
  • The Full Terminal Name as is in game, with absolutely no de-capitalizing or spelling corrections. It is to also be used with the 2nd level heading.
  • The Notes section(s) on where the individual terminal(s) are located, what kind it is, and what its Hacking level is. These section(s) are to be placed underneath the Main Header for that specific terminal(s).
  • The Content of the Terminal Entries - Must be a Direct copy-paste from the GECk editor!
  • The "loading notice" (term I'm using) must be added below whatever is being accessed with a > to differenciate that it is NOT part of the loaded text. Must also be a Direct copy-paste from the GECk editor, not all are the same either!

The Notes section for the terminal entries pages is for Notes about the page's content. Misspellings, grammatical errors, lore errors, et cetera, within the content are to be mentioned here.

While the player does not need to investigate the camp, it does offer a chance of learning something about the surrounding area and provides the player with a good source of enemies to overcome ... and the resultant loot and Experience Points. The subplot involving the kidnapping of Tandi, Aradesh's daughter, is resolved here and can also gain the player points and an enhanced reputation. Use caution, however. The nomads are easily angered, and it's not wise to challenge them on their home turf without careful preparation."</ref>

Terms project[edit | edit source]

NOTE:I May Have Not Gotten Everything In the Scope Of This Project!!!
See the Dialogue File project below. My Reasoning
1: The dialogue files have errors in them from the bots that imported them and the editors that tried to fix them.
2: I have yet to go through all dialogue files for all the games, these are just a small amount of them.
3: All references in question will need to be gone over again once the dialogue files are repaired correctly.

Note: All Gamebryo dialogue terms.

Fallout: New Vegas Official Game Guide Collector's Edition p.455:

Blame towards... [Insert Chosen Group of Idiots Here]

"Though it may seem paradoxical to their claim that the NCR is the greatest nation on Earth, NCR citizens frequently proclaim that their nation is "riding to hell on a hand grenade!" due to the incompetence or malfeasance of one or more groups of idiots."

"The blamed parties range from politicians (the ruling council is a "pit of Radscorpions") to the wealthy Brahmin Barons ("they got even bigger teats than their herds, with four to five council members dangling off each one!") to Ghouls, Super Mutants, and other monsters ("you gonna tell me some mutie with horns like a brahmin's gonna sit next to my Stephie while she learns her a-b-c's? Not if you value your teeth!") to the ever popular hobby of blaming citizens from a State other than your own ("Damn Shadies!" or "Damn Hub-Heads!" or "Damn Glowsters!" et cetera)."

AHS-7 Fcoz7.msg

TranscriptVaultBoy.png

{103}{}{Guards! An oppressive! Strike it down!}

{106}{}{I have a letter for AHS-9 from the Enlightened One in NCR.}

{105}{}{Aaagh! Nu! Nee!}
{112}{}{Ah, poor child. Would you like to be aligned?}
{113}{}{'Es!}
{115}{}{Poor child. Already aligned, yet unable to articulate. Go on in.}
{116}{}{'Ank yu!}

{110}{}{Who are you?}
{128}{}{I am AHS-7, the second in command of this facility. Before you ask: AHS stands for Aligned Hub Seeker, which means that I have cleared seven levels of neurodynes from my spirit. This means that I am more enlightened and closer to the hub of the Great Wheel than you. And this means that you will tell me what you want here. Now.}

{109}{}{I'm interested in potentially joining your group.}
{125}{}{Excellent! Go in, go in. Speak to Juan Cruz and Vikki Goldman - they're celebrities, you know, but they'll talk to YOU.}
{126}{}{Who are they?}
{134}{}{They're stars from New Reno. They heard the truth behind our gospel and came to cleanse their neurodynes.}
{135}{}{Where do I find them?}
{137}{}{You can find them in the prayer room, showing all our new recruits and the raw meat just how rewarding it is to be a Hubologist.}
{138}{}{Well, let me at 'em!}
{139}{}{I'll be the judge of that. Let's get the show on the road.}
{141}{}{So now you've spoken to Juan and Vikki. Are you interested in joining our friends in the search for enlightenment to the Great Wheel?}
{142}{}{Oh yes. Yes yes yes.}
{147}{}{::he smiles:: You won't regret this. You may have the run of the compound. Oh... you're a person who knows how to use a weapon. Would you care to use yours in the service of the Great Wheel?}
{149}{}{Maybe later.}
{150}{}{Do not wait too long before returning with a reply. Your neurodynes will be filled with more and more pollution until we can begin the cleansing process.}

{153}{}{You may leave this compound safely, traveler, but I would recommend not returning. If you do not travel with us, then you work against us - and I would hate to see you hurt.}

{155}{}{I don't think I'd be the one hurt. So long.}
{156}{}{Torch us? TORCH US? GUARDS! KILL THE UNBELIEVER!}

{129}{}{I have a letter for AHS-9 from the Enlightened One in NCR.}

{158}{}{So. You have now had time to reconsider your decision. Will you join us?}
{161}{}{I still need more time.}
{162}{}{You do not have more time. Make your choice, meat.}
{164}{}{Forget it. I don't like strong-arm tactics.}
{146}{}{Hell no. Your crazy cult deserves to be torched down to the ground.}
{156}{}{Torch us? TORCH US? GUARDS! KILL THE UNBELIEVER!}

{165}{}{The oppressive Shi have been contesting our power and wreaking havoc among our brethren with their neurodyne-influencing ways. We believe that if their Emperor is killed, they will see the error of their ways. Will you kill the Emperor?}
{166}{}{Yeah, I'll do it.}
{167}{}{No, the Shi have never done anything to me.}
{168}{}{Perhaps you will reconsider. Let me know if you do. Now, is there anything the Hub can provide for you, recruit?}
{169}{}{Yes, I have some questions.}
{171}{}{Have you thought on aiding us in our struggle against the oppresive Shi? The Star Father will bless you if you take part in our crusade.}
{173}{}{I'll do it.}
{183}{}{Have you removed the Emperor's oppressive stain from this material existence?}
{185}{}{Yes, AHS-7. He is dead.}

{176}{}{Where can I find the meaning of all the terms you use?}
{208}{}{Simply use the holodisc Juan and Vikki provided to you and check out the Glossary.}

{177}{}{When does the ship take off?}
{211}{}{When AHS-9 receives his vision from the Hub, we will leave, and join him in celestial glory!}

{178}{}{Where is Crocket?}
{214}{}{He's usually in his lab, working on ways to perfect our bodies and our spirits.}

{186}{}{The de facto leader of the Tanker vagrants is a piece of anti-therapeutic raw meat named Badger. With his death, they will come to understand our position. Will you remove him?}
{187}{}{I'll do it.}
{188}{}{He hasn't done me any harm. I'd rather not.}
{189}{}{So... have you reconsidered whether you would remove this "Badger"?}
{190}{}{I'll do it.}
{192}{}{Have you removed this "Badger"?}
{194}{}{Yes. He's gone.}
{195}{}{His people shall embrace the Hub! All will be well! You have performed a great service!}
{197}{}{I do it all for the Wheel. Farewell.}

{199}{}{Now that the ship is filled with fuel, we await only the word of AHS-9 the Great and Terrible to achieve liftoff.}

{175}{}{Where can I get fuel for the Poseidon tanker?}
{202}{}{Aside from the precious fuel we need to launch ourselves into the bosom of our starry brethren on the planet Quetzel, I can't think of a place. Perhaps the Shi?}

{175}{}{Where can I get fuel for the Poseidon tanker?}
{205}{}{I understand the Shi have a massive tank of fuel. Maybe you can steal it from them.}

{212}{}{Yeah, praise the Wheel or whatever. I have more questions.}
{213}{}{Most informative. Thanks.}

{217}{}{Before you can truly be one of us, we must perform an initial zeta scan - an alignment. Are you prepared for your scan?}
{218}{}{No! No scan!}
{219}{}{Sure. Let's do it.}
{220}{}{Without a scan, you cannot join us. Are you sure you wish to refuse?}
{221}{}{Absolutely sure. I don't want to be monkeyed with by your machines.}
{222}{}{Oh, all right. Scan me.}
{223}{}{We have eliminated some of your dirtiest neurodynes. You are now rated as AHS-1. Are you ready to join our noble cause?}
{224}{}{Oh yes.}
{225}{}{Nope. Don't want to now.}

{226}{}{Lesson 1: Here we have eternity. Over here is where Quetzel is. [points at something] And here is where we are. [points at something] Now all we have to do is walk really far to get there.}
{227}{}{Man, we're going to need a lot of shoes.}

{106}{}{You are in the presence of AHS-9, the Great and Terrible. What is it you desire of him?}
{107}{}{Agh a nu, AHS!}
{109}{}{I have many questions for you, AHS-9.}
{112}{}{Oh, AHS-9, I come bearing a letter from your agent in NCR. I bow to your glory.}
{119}{}{I can't understand a word you're saying. Perhaps you should see Juan or Vikki about an alignment.}
{121}{}{Of course, child. The alignment has cleared your basic neurodynes and aligned them with mine and the spokes of the Great Wheel. What do you need?}
{134}{}{D'bye! [So long, AHS-9. You're a great man.]}
{135}{}{Have you completed your task? Your future and that of the Wheel on this planet depend on it.}
{141}{}{I can see by your emanations that you have succeeded in ridding the world of the polluting neurodynes of the Emperor.}
{145}{}{Anks! [It has been a pleasure, AHS-9. I wish you all the best. Good bye.]}

{148}{}{Enclave? Enclave who?}
{151}{}{The Enclave are a remnant of the past - a neurodyne that has yet to be aligned. They have hidden bases all over the shards of old California, and their strongest stronghold is off to the west, over the waters.}

{156}{}{How do you know all this?}
{158}{}{Child, I am AHS-9. I see many things that transpire in the fleshy world. Do you have more questions, or may I return to my meditations?}

{110}{}{The Enlightened One in NCR wanted me to deliver a letter. She said something about a reward?}
{166}{}{A letter from the Enlightened One? Is that what she calls herself now? Bah. [he takes the letter from you] And she promised a reward? You have a reward - my gratitude. Good day.}

{170}{}{Address your questions to AHS-7. I am AHS-9, the Great and Terrible, and I have many matters on my mind. Trouble me not, meat.}

{111}{}{The Enlightened One in NCR wanted me to deliver a letter. Here you go.}
{112}{}{Oh, AHS-9, I come bearing a letter from your agent in NCR. I bow to your glory.}
{173}{}{Ahh, a letter from my field agent. Pity she calls herself "The Enlightened One" - it shows that she truly is not enlightened. You have my gratitude.}

{178}{}{Do you have any tasks for me?}
{184}{}{Seek out Badger, whose caustic presence holds those pathetic tanker vagrants together. Rid our fair city of him. When you have done so, visit AHS-7.}

{188}{}{No.}
{190}{}{You disobey the commands of AHS-9, the Great and Terrible? Then you shall die.}
{192}{}{Wait, I changed my mind.}
{193}{}{Too late, meat. You have shown you cannot be trusted. Die!}

{201}{}{Your enburgled aura tells me that you come here meaning me no good. Tell me, child, do you wish to profit from your venture?}
{202}{}{Yes.}
{205}{}{This, then, is my bargain: return to the Shi and eliminate Ken Lee and the Emperor. I will repay you with more money than you have ever dreamed.}
{207}{}{You've got a deal, fat man.}
{208}{}{Then go and smite those troublesome souls. I await word of your success. [He smiles beatifically.]}
{210}{}{No, wait, I changed my mind. I want you dead.}
{211}{}{Ah, child, how could you stray from the path of truth like this? I see from your aura that you plan to kill me. I am bitterly disappointed. Bitterly. Ah well. Let us proceed.}
{212}{}{Yes, let's. Die.}

{213}{}{Remember, you will need to visit AHS-7 when you have completed your task.}

{107}{}{Hey! Raw meat! Who are you? What are you doing here?}

{108}{}{Duh?}
{115}{}{Great, an idiot. Look, pal, just go down those stairs there and maybe they can adjust your neurodynes and make something useful of you. Until then, though, I'm busy. Now go.}

{109}{}{I have a letter for AHS-9. Where do I take it?}
{117}{}{Take it downstairs. Show it to AHS-7, who has gate duty right now, and he'll take it for you or send you on to AHS-9. Now can I get back to work, meat?}

{111}{}{None of your business.}
{119}{}{You're not one of the brethren, and you're therefore not authorized to be here. Unless you're planning on joining us - which you may do by expressing your interest to AHS-7, who is at the guard post. Now, either get downstairs or get out of here.}

{109}{}{I have a letter for AHS-9. Where do I take it?}
{134}{}{Go down that elevator and talk to AHS-7 at the guard post. He'll direct you accordingly.}

{172}{}{Who are you?}
{179}{}{I am Harry, AHS-5. I am the starbrother in charge of the rocketship. We are going to use it to travel to Quetzel.}

{173}{}{What are you doing here?}
{182}{}{What I'm doing is preparing the ship for the grand trip to the Star-Father. We're very close right now.}

{187}{}{Then you must go get them, yes? Now please excuse me, comrade - I must continue readying the ship for our epic journey.}

{190}{}{We have all we need for our journey now! Excellent! Now we just await the word of AHS-9 - and I'm sure he'll want you to come with us. Go get whatever you need done - and then come back and join us with the Star Father!}

These I cannot Find the Order too STILL

{115}{}{Oh dear, a Level One. Still trapped in primitive state. Perhaps a zeta-scan alignment would help. Would you like that?}
{116}{}{Zay-ta!}

{120}{}{It's simple. I am the Chosen One because that is what must be.}

{123}{}{What are you talking about?}
{124}{}{Can we just get to the part where you sprinkle holy water on me or something?}

{136}{}{Oh. I assumed you could see my aura. I'm sorry.}
{137}{}{Oh. I assumed you could see my aura. I'm sorry.}

{141}{}{Honestly! I don't know what they expect me to accomplish surrounded by such rim meat!}

{144}{}{Do not shout! Now I've got a neurodyne to align!}
{145}{}{Predestination? What about free will? By your belief, nothing you do has any meaning since it's all determined in advance. It's like you're just a pawn in a game.}
{146}{}{You misunderstand. Only my potential as the Chosen One is pre-determined. My choices and my actions determine the fulfillment of that potential.}
{147}{}{Of course the universe is deterministic! After all, we've been put here for some purpose that's already known to our creator.}
{148}{}{Nonsense. There is no organizing force determining our fates. In fact there's no 'higher power' behind anything. The universe is just chance. I am the Chosen One because others have declared it. That's all.}
{149}{}{Aligned Hub Seeker. You are obviously not Enlightened.}
{150}{}{A primitive belief - but you show signs of great promise. We can show you the higher path. Would you like to know more?}
{151}{}{Yes.}

{168}{}{That is not an ability that I possess. Is there something else that I can help you with? An alignment perhaps?}
{169}{}{I'll take the alignment.}

{170}{}{I need some information. Vault 13 - what do you know about it?}
{188}{}{Vault 13? Our scientists have been searching for it somewhere to the west. That is all I know. Are you sure you don't want an alignment?}

{179}{}{So you're saying there's some higher power who creates us with a purpose and then just abandons us? I can't believe any being would be so callous. Come, embrace the Church of Hubology. Let us show you the true way.}
{180}{}{What true way?}
{181}{}{No thanks.}
{182}{}{Without control of your own life, though, what's the point? Nothing you do has any value. Did you choose to get up this morning? No, you're just a puppet by your own philosophy. Now, we at the church of Hubology have a true answer.}

{137}{}{Now that's a difficult operation. It costs 4000 scripts, but the recovery from this operation is only a week.}
{139}{}{This one's not that difficult. It takes about a week and will cost 3000 scripts.}
{141}{}{This is the most complex and dangerous! It'll take 3 weeks and costs 6000 scripts.}
{143}{}{This isn't that tough of an operation but it is very costly and time consuming. It will take 3 weeks and cost 5000 scripts.}

One more thing. Don't even think about going to the police, that's the worst mistake you could ever make. If you can, try not attract their attention when doing your work, they can be quite a pain sometimes. [Kane gives you 500 caps]}

{107}{}{Our pay's the best, 600 scripts, and yes, that is for each way' but you don't have to do both. This is a pretty tough caravan ride, and you're almost guaranteed to run into some raiders' or worse. We'll have no sissies on my caravans and you better have plenty of ammo.}
{156}{}{Good. Like I said before we pay 600 scripts. Which route did you want to take?}

{167}{}{The job pays 500 Hubbucks when you can tell Butch exactly what has been happening to all of the caravans that have disappeared recently. So, collect any proof you might find. I personally think it's those damn Water Merchants or those gun freaks at the Brotherhood of Steel. Butch thinks it's some Claw of death or something. Check with Beth, she would know more about that.}
{218}{}{Hey, I know how to use one of those. Butch got some gizmo from some scout from the Brotherhood a long time ago that can read these things. Let's see.Sorry, I didn't believe you. This does not bode well for the good guys. Well, here's your 500 Hubbucks. Hell, make it 800, and thanks for the information! If you need anymore work you will always be welcome.}
{268}{}{Sure, we could use you in one of our caravans. Do you do guard work? The pay's standard, 400 hubbucks. Interested?}
{277}{}{I'll give you one more chance. The pay's 400 hubbucks. Go talk to the caravan driver by the front door to see when the next one goes out.}

{139}{}{Bartering is the exchange of goods. You give me some items, and I give you items in trade. Since you initiated the barter, I will let you pick and choose what you want. But the deal must be one that I think I will like, so you will probably want to give me more valuable goods that you don't need in exchange for less expensive things that you want. And if you don't have enough items to trade, there are always caps. Bottle caps are the only common money found out here. The caps are backed by the merchants of the Hub, so you can trade them anywhere.}

{117}{}{I...well, I...it's my husband Joshua. He...got into some trouble in...the bar. He accidentally struck a Citizen and was arrested. He didn't mean to, but he'd been drinking, and...}
{118}{}{Arrested? Where is he now?}
{121}{}{Inside the city, in the Servant Allocation Center...they said he could work off his prison sentence as a Servant, but that'll take years!}
{129}{}{I don't have much money left, and we'll have to leave soon if we can't afford to pay the guards for protection. They said if we want to stay with Joshua, then they could make us Servants, too...}
{130}{}{That sounds like a solution. They treat Servants pretty well in Vault City, don't they?}
{134}{}{I don't want my son to be raised as a slave! We came to Vault City because we heard it was a free city...but we get here...and there's all these laws, and payments to the guards and...it's nothing like what we were told.}

{121}{}{Servant Allocation, huh? Do you buy slaves...er, servants here?}
{129}{}{What th-? Are you one of the new Servants?}
{133}{}{Citizens who need help with menial tasks come here to have a Servant assigned to them for the day.}
{134}{}{That sounds a lot like slavery.}
{135}{}{Oh, so this is where the slaves are stored? Why didn't you say so?}
{136}{}{Where do you get all these servants?}
{137}{}{I am looking for a particular Servant...Joshua, I believe. Is he here?}
{138}{}{Are you looking to buy slaves...er, servants, right now?}
{140}{}{I'm tired of Servants being sent over with no clearance... *sigh*... let's see, you said you were looking for the Vault? That must be your assignment for the day. Very well. I will have someone escort you there.}
{142}{}{I'd watch that kind of talk if I were you. It is NOT slavery. We take care of these refugees, and they have a good life...better than they would get in the wastes.}
{149}{}{Our Servants are usually refugees from raider attacks or contractual prisoners who wish to work off their sentence in a productive manner.}
{152}{}{Do you have a contractual prisoner named Joshua in custody?}
{153}{}{Are you looking to buy any slave...er, servants...right now?}
{158}{}{You're a fine one to make moral judgments, slaver. Get out of here.}
{162}{}{Joshua? Yes, we do have a Servant by that name, but you wouldn't want him assigned to you. Training him has been...difficult. I'm not certain he can be trained.}
{163}{}{Joshua? I think we once had a Servant by that name, but not anymore.}
{174}{}{Yes, he's more stubborn than almost any Servant we've ever had here. If I didn't know better, I'd assume his father was a brahmin.}
{175}{}{You know, that kind of attitude could prove to be a problem. What if the rest of the Servants start following his example?}
{176}{}{I could purchase him and take him off your hands. Does the Center take..."donations?"}
{179}{}{That's true. I have had to separate him from some of the others...and just yesterday one of the Servants actually had the audacity to question one of my requests.}
{181}{}{Joshua? Yes, we do have a Servant by that name. He was recently transferred from the Corrections Center. Your interest in him is...?}
{183}{}{I suspect he has a contagious disease. You might want to release him before he infects the other Servants.}
{187}{}{A sizeable donation to the Servant Allocation Center operating fund, perhaps?}
{191}{}{No, I was thinking of a more sizeable donation.}
{192}{}{Hmmn. Donations are indeed welcome to insure the smooth operation of the Center, but it would require a sizeable donation before I could release Joshua into your care.}
{193}{}{How about $1000?}
{194}{}{How about $750?}
{195}{}{How about $500?}
{196}{}{How about $250?}
{199}{}{I see. I may return later when I have enough funds for a donation.}
{200}{}{Well...that's not as much of a donation as I would like, but it will do. I shall see to it that this Joshua you have requested is shipped to the Courtyard for processing. Let me make the necessary arrangements.}
{202}{}{It is done. Joshua is no longer a servant of Vault City, and he has been moved into the Courtyard with the rest of the Outworlders.}
{206}{}{Is that so? Are you aware that each Servant is thoroughly checked before being admitted into the Allocation Center?}
{219}{}{Perhaps you've noticed the lowered energy level of your Servants recently? Short attention span? Their inability to hear orders and follow them correctly? Those are only the early stages.}
{222}{}{Hmmmm. It wouldn't do if Citizens began to report problems with the Servants...very well, I shall release Joshua at once. If you would give me a moment to make the arrangements...}
{223}{}{Yes...I have noticed those symptoms in the Servants of late. Contagious, you say? Hmmm. Well, if this Joshua is a carrier, I shall release him at once. Give me a moment to make the arrangements...}
{224}{}{No problem. Joshua would be better off with the Outworlders anyway.}
{232}{}{Hmmm. That woman there, Miria, is it? She has strong arms...and nice hips. I will buy her from you for $250.}
{233}{}{Hmmm. that boy there, Davin, is it? He look relatively free from Outworlder contamination. I will buy him from you for $250.}
{234}{}{Hmmm. That tribal you have. He smells...strongly. But he looks healthy. I'll take him for $100.}
{235}{}{Hmmm. That man there...Vic, is it? Even though he's old, he looks like a handyman. $100.}
{236}{}{Perhaps you should return when you have a servant of value to show me. Your current stock... is unimpressive.}
{237}{}{C'mon, the slave's worth more than that.}
{238}{}{That is a fair price. The servant's all yours.}

{254}{}{That's fair. The servant's all yours.}
{256}{}{Actually, I'm not looking to sell that slave. Let's deal another time.}
{263}{}{Very well. Your Servant has been relocated for medical testing and re-conditioning. Curious...the Servant seemed quite surprised by the whole affair. It took a few tranquilizer darts to smooth things over. I put everything the Servant was carrying in the box in my office.}

The terminology behind those regarded to as "pure humans," first originated from Unity. It has seen use throughout the Fallout series.

Background
Radioactive and biochemical contamination caused by the Great War has resulted in the elevation of the background radiation levels and an increased rate of genetic mutations and damage among the human population. These changes are minute and cannot be identified without specialized equipment.

A variety of terms have been used over the series to refer to humans with low levels of radiation or other mutagens-induced mutations/damage in their genetic code, including pure strain, prime normal, genetically pure, prime, normal, normie, norm, and similar. Conversely, humans that did not qualify for that status (due to various criteria) were referred to as lumpy, near-humans or simply mutants. All of which's meanings change depend on the context and faction that use them.

Origins (Synopsis of Unity's believes coupled with the Master's background)
After an expedition gone wrong while searching for the source of hostile mutants attacking nearby settlements, a man by the name of Richard Grey found himself stuck in one of the FEV vats for an extended amount of time after the others in his group with the exception of Harold were killed, and due to his being born in a vault and being relatively radiation-free, Grey underwent the most unique of FEV mutations, turning into the antagonist of the Vault Dweller most popularly known and referred to as "the Master". As the Master began experimenting with FEV and using other humans to expand his biomass, the Master soon came to the conclusion that FEV could be used to evolve and unify humanity in order to save themselves. However, the Master hit an obstacle in that most humans were coming out as either dead or mentally handicapped super mutants that were of little use to his vision.

But then, the Master came across another pure human, which after absorbing into himself, made him realize that humans with little or no radiation conformed better to the effects of FEV. After biologically linking himself to the Mariposa Military Base's super computer detailing FEV, this fact was confirmed and the Master began looking for sanctuaries of still pure humans. This proved to be fruitful in his endeavors, as those that were pure humans began making up the backbone of the Master's Unity, such as Lou Tenant and the nightkin.

Unity=
The terms originating with Unity are as follows;
* Prime normal; is a combination of two concepts 1) "Prime" - by definition: of first importance; main. of the best possible quality; excellent. 2) "Normal" - which is a slang term for a human not, or not perceived to be, mutated (especially/specifically by radiation). Therefore sub terms like "prime human" and "pure-strain" are just synonyms of "untainted humans".

Since mutations and damage in the genetic code warp the functioning of the Virus, acquiring subjects that were not exposed to mutation factors was a critical component of the Master's plans. Humans without such damage fared a better chance to mutate into a super mutant when dipped into the Vats and exposed to the virus. Those whose genetic structure has significant enough changes/damage will change how the Forced Evolutionary Virus functions. Suffered worse fates, from amnesia and/or brain damage as a super mutant, up to and including death.

Fallout 2
By 2241 these terms came to mean more than just one with genetic damage due to the radiation and or mutagens. It became to be conceived as a racial term, one spoken especially with hatred.
Vault City
* "pure strain", also "pure-strain" - in this context is again synonymous with "Normal", with Vault City not considering anyone with minor alterations in their DNA, such as "Lumpy" John (with his radiation resistance). Thus the derogatory term "Lumpy". It however is also synonymous with the average "Normal."
Considering themselves as ""Genetically pure" humans" (IE Those whose DNA is is absolutely not been altered by exposure to radiation and or DNA manipulation, VIA disease or otherwise).
Broken Hills
* "Normal human" - redundant redundancies, <s>but also may mean that he considers some humans as "Lumpy human", that is to say mutated in some way</s> (originating with the Vault Dweller and the Prisoner (Fallout) - in context of Unity testing/breaking prisoners and freeing them -- Mariposa?)
The Enclave
The enclave came back o the continent in 2135? Exerimented on deathclaws and found a base with FEV. They did not fully invest themselves in researching the gennetics of the continent MORE IDEOLOGY SECTION HERE Curling FEV-13 airborne version - Horigan = cyborg SM

The terms they have come to utilize, and coin, are as follows;
* "Primitive" - relating to, denoting, or preserving the character of an early stage in the evolutionary or historical development of something, in this context humankind. In this instance it means of how the Enclave perceive everyone that is not Enclave. It also is a derogatory term for Tribals, especially those that are literally living in the stone age.
* "Real human" - In their context has the same meaning as "pure-strain", it also denotes that those with slight mutations of any sort out of perceived normality is "Less than" at best, and "Not" human at worse. Thus the racial term "near human", which means "Almost human" and "Sub human."
* - "Real humans over mutants" - this again means the Enclave consider the populace as "Not human." "pre-war, human stock" - the people of Vault 13 - and "freshly mutated stock" - the villagers from Arroyo. "True humanity" - again this is their racial viewpoint. Exhibit A D. Johnson; "No price is too high for the survival of the human race. If you were human, you'd feel the same way." Exhibit B D. Johnson line 291, Exhibit C All of Henry's dialogue.

While FEV played a lesser role in Fallout 3, pure humans are still referenced and play an integral part in the main quest-line. While most humans in the Capital Wasteland are too damaged by radiation to create anything but the dumbest variety of super mutants, President John Henry Eden was able to create an even further modified strain of FEV based off of Curling's research. This version of the virus was modified to kill any human with more than the most minor of radiation exposure, while keeping pure humans alive. If introduced into the Potomac River, the virus is seen living up to its purpose, killing any normal humans or mutants that drink the water.Verify

FOT
* "Pure blood human" - synonymous with "pure-strain," is mentioned briefly on Terminal Alpha in Buena Vista, detailing the possibility of setting the Calculator's Emergency Pacification Protocol to target mutants first while leaving prime normals alone, to help ensure the survival of the human species.

Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel
FOBOS
FOBOS
A pure human turned super mutant by the name of Attis began further experimentation into FEV after the death of the Master, and discovered the Secret Vault, which held a unique variation of FEV that further evolved super mutants. For most super mutants, this included rapid cell regeneration and increased mass. But for pure humans turned into super mutants such as Attis, this variant of FEV resulted in multi-cellular beings of surprising mental capacity and aggression.Verify
end

Fallout (film)
Film
Film
Pure, or pristine humans, are referenced at multiple times throughout the Fallout film treatment. The first time is in Dekker's club when, in innuendo form, the film treatment describes how semi-mutated women want to get their hands on the protagonist's 'pristine bodily fluids'.

Most importantly, the Master had been testing genetic combinations for years, but all his previous attempts had resulted in sterile mutants. He believes that the protagonist, preliminarily named Hero, and his female companion represent his last chance to create fertile mutants, unless he can capture the people of Vault 13. This all stems from the perceived purity of Vault Dwellers, though this is not expanded on in the same way as in the games.

{220}{}{Well, a caravan from Broken Hills found me and brought me here. I've been here ever since. One thing about the ghouls here is that they care more about what kind of person you are inside. It's like a big family.}
{230}{}{Broken Hills is where we get all the uranium that we need for the atomic reactor from. From what I understand, the uranium is mined by mutants down there. But they have humans trade the stuff for them.}
{231}{}{Why do they have humans trade the stuff for them?}
{250}{}{Well, because they trade uranium to Vault City, too. Vault City treats anyone that's not a pure strain human just like lepers. So, Broken Hills uses human traders. Some guy named Chad, I think.}

  • "Normal human" - redundant redundancies, but also may mean that he considers some humans as "Lumpy human", that is to say mutated in some way
TranscriptVaultBoy.png

Super mutant miner if Broken Hills HcMINERS.msg

{134}{}{Cameron's the leader of the normal humans here. He doesn't much like mutants or ghouls, but he treats us okay. He's a politician, so you'll usually find him at the bank or the saloon. Sometimes you can even find him working at the blacksmith. Anything else? And where am I, anyway? Oh yeah' so' anything else?}

  • "pure-strain" - again is synonymous with "Normal"
TranscriptVaultBoy.png

Typhon Hctyphon.msg

{160}{}{Yep. Used to have some, but all the pure-strain humans stole 'em to make their own little Gardens of Eden. Vault City might be your best bet to find one. Either there or NCR to the south.}

  • ""Genetically pure" humans" - Those whose DNA is is absolutely not been altered by exposure to radiation and or DNA manipulation, VIA disease or otherwise
TranscriptVaultBoy.png

Myron NhMyron.msg

{2685}{myn243}{A city to the northeast. Buncha "genetically pure" humans. They got their noses so high in the air they'll drown when it rains.}

  • "Primitive" - relating to, denoting, or preserving the character of an early stage in the evolutionary or historical development of something.- in this instance it means of how the Enclave perceive everyone that is not Enclave. It also is a derogatory term for Tribals, especially those that are literally living in the stone age. "Real human" - is the same as "pure-strain", it also denotes that those with slight mutations of any sort out of perceived normality is "Less than" at best, and "Not" human at worse. Thus the racial term "near human", which means "Almost human" and "Sub human."

{143}{}{The final resort of all tiny-minded primitives. It's so easy to see what separates you from real humans like us.}
Chosen One {145}{}{You fucking bigot. You need to be put away, right now.}
{146}{}{I don't see that there's much I need to talk about with a mutant. Soon, when real humans retake the planet for their own, you'll just be another unfortunate reminder of the war. }
{147}{}{Real humans? What are you talking about? I'm as human as you are.}
{153}{}{Shouldn't I be? Our research on the villagers clearly shows changes to their DNA. It's a natural result of all the background radiation.}
{154}{}{So what if our DNA is a little different?}
{155}{}{I don't know what that means exactly, but so what if we're a little different?}
{156}{}{No, not really. You're actually rather different, at least your DNA is. A rather unfortunate effect of generations of background radiation, I assume.}
{157}{}{So what if our DNA is a little different?}
{158}{}{I don't know what that means, but so what if we're a little different?}
{159}{}{Oh, your DNA, is more than just a *little* different. It's quite different. If I weren't so pressed for time by the Project I'd be interested in running further tests on your people, other than the F.E.V. toxicological study, of course. Fascinating work really.}
{160}{}{What did you want to know about?}
{161}{}{How's our DNA different?}
{162}{}{You're running tests on my tribe?}
{163}{}{What the hell is "the Project?"}
{165}{}{There are a number of, primarily, very subtle changes. I haven't had time to look into the ramifications of the changes yet though. Also, I'd have to backtrack to isolate your initial gene-stock before I could hazard any ideas on the direction the changes are taking. All in all though, the information is clear enough.}
{166}{}{What is clear enough? What information?}
{168}{}{Why the information that you and your tribe are no longer human, of course. Since your tribe has only been out of a vault (let's see Vault 13 wasn't it?) for some eighty-odd years, anyone out longer is certain to have been even more compromised. Yes, I'm afraid that the conclusion is unavoidable.}
{169}{}{Conclusion? What conclusion?}
{170}{}{Why, I thought that I had made myself perfectly clear. The conclusion that you, and all your kind, are no longer human. In order to retake the earth and to maintain the integrity of the human race, all you mutants will have to be destroyed.}
{171}{}{Destroyed? What do you mean?}
{172}{}{The Project that the Enclave has dedicated itself to these past several decades has been the reestablishment of the human race upon the continental United States. God Bless America.}
{173}{}{That doesn't sound as though it would take decades to achieve.}
{175}{}{Oh, just establishing an outpost wouldn't take long. We've all ready done that at Navarro. But it has taken a long time to work out the proper method for the eradication procedure.}
{176}{}{Eradication procedure?}
{177}{}{Why yes, we can't move back to the mainland only to risk contamination by all of the mutated near-humans there. In order to make the United States safe for humanity, all of the mutants must first be exterminated.}
{179}{}{Exterminated? How are you going to do that?}
{180}{}{I don't think so. I prefer to see it as social Darwinism at its finest. The survival of those best able to assure their own reproduction. The success of future generations, of the whole human race, depends upon us.}
{181}{}{Change is probably the one universal constant. Just because we're different doesn't make us bad. If anything, we're living proof of humanity's resilience. As such, we deserve to survive even *more* than your people do.}
{182}{}{Have you stopped to consider that even though we're different that we're just as human as you are?}
{184}{}{I hadn't ever stopped to think about it that way'. Please, give me a minute, while I think this over very carefully.}
{185}{}{That's OK. Take your time, doctor. It's a big concept to swallow.}
{187}{}{That's preposterous. You're no more like me than a mutated, two-headed, cow is like a normal heifer.}
{188}{}{If there were mono-headed cows at one time, they've long since died out. But the cow, as a species, has survived and grown stronger. Change is an integral part of the natural order.}
{189}{}{Killing everyone on the mainland is just plain wrong.}
{191}{}{You're kind clearly isn't capable of understanding what I'm trying to tell you. It's hopeless. You should leave now.}
{192}{}{Well, I tried. Time to die, bigot.}
{194}{}{Toxicological studies on the effectiveness of the F.E.V. toxin, yes.}
{195}{}{The F.E.V. toxin? What's that?}
{196}{}{Let me ask you about something else.}
{197}{}{The F.E.V. toxin. It's the perfect solution for this difficult problem.}
{198}{}{What's the F.E.V. toxin?}
{200}{}{One of our patrols found the research data, and several samples, about the F.E.V. virus in a former military research base that had been almost completely destroyed.}
{201}{}{Okay, now I know where you found it, but what does it do?}
{202}{}{The F.E.V. was initially designed as a virus that was supposed to turn humans into super-soldiers. That experiment seems to have been an utter failure, although I did try a modification of the virus on one of our Secret Service agents with some success.}
{203}{}{Great for you, but how does that have anything to do with eradicating everyone?}
{204}{}{Oh, yes, well, I was getting to that'.The F.E.V. virus bond is species specific, it will only bond with human glyco-proteins. It only took a few years to tweak the F.E.V. virus to make it more lethal than it all ready was. The result was just what the doctor ordered, perfect in every way. }
{205}{}{Perfect? How so?}
{206}{}{Isn't it obvious, my mutated friend? The F.E.V. is, thanks to me, a lethal toxin, and thanks to some mysterious genius named, rather dramatically, the Master, it only works on humans, mutated or not.}
{207}{}{So?}
{208}{}{That means that we have the perfect disposal device for all of the near-human mutants infecting the globe. }
{209}{}{I still don't understand how that's *perfect.*}
{210}{}{I've got to ask you about some of your other crazy ideas.}
{211}{}{The F.E.V. toxin will only attack to humans, leaving everything else alive, better still, within a month all the mutants will be dead and the F.E.V. toxin will die out as soon as it runs out of hosts. }
{212}{}{There can't be enough verti-birds here to spread the toxin all over the globe.}
{213}{}{I'm going to make you a host to some high-energy projectiles. Say your prayers.}
{214}{}{You're right, there aren't. But we don't need them. We have a release system that will spray the F.E.V. toxin straight from the vats to the outside atmosphere. The jetstream will take care of the rest. Global saturation within two weeks.}
{215}{}{Two weeks?}
{216}{}{Yes, two weeks for the virus to spread, another month or so for it to run its course and then the United States will be ready for recolonization by real humans. Our species will have been saved.}
{217}{}{You really think you're doing the right thing don't you?}
{218}{}{Aren't you the great humanitarian. I've got to get out of here before I have to kill you. Goodbye.}
{219}{}{Your species may make it but you're sure not going to.}
{220}{}{Yes, I do. There is no price too high to pay for the survival of one's species.}
{221}{}{I'd agree with you on that. Has it occurred to you that the *mutants* as you call them are just another type of human?}
{222}{}{I'd have to agree with you, doc. I think I'll strike a blow for us mutants. Starting with you!}
{223}{}{I told you I need a moment to think this over.}
{224}{}{I really do need some time to think.}
{228}{}{I hate to admit this but you may be right. What we've been planning all along just isn't right. I was so blinded by trying to overcome the obstacles that I didn't think about the morality of my quest.}
{229}{}{Well, now that you've thought about it. You should destroy the toxin.}
{230}{}{That might'. No, that wouldn't work.}
{231}{}{Why not?}
{232}{}{Because they'd just start over. Even with me dead, there's enough data between here and Navarro to assure that they could replicate my work. Only something more drastic will be enough.}
{233}{}{More drastic? What do you mean?}
{234}{}{The Enclave must be destroyed. Completely destroyed. If we're not, then we'll just pick up the pieces and start over somewhere else.}
{235}{}{I'm sorry to hear that. Uh, Doctor, how do you suggest that the Enclave be destroyed?}
{236}{}{I think that the best way is to just release the F.E.V. toxin into the air-filtration system. Since the Enclave is a sealed system that should take care of everyone.}
{237}{}{What about my people? Or me? Or you, for that matter?}
{238}{}{I can release the antidote into the air-system for all the cells. The detention level is served by a separate air system from the rest of the Enclave. Everyone will think that I'm just running another test. You, I can inoculate directly, here and now. (he reaches for you with a syringe)}
{239}{}{Ouch, thanks Doc. What happens when the F.E.V. toxin is released?}
{240}{}{Hey, wait a minute, you're not sticking me with that thing!}
{241}{}{It's not pretty. You should leave as soon as possible. But I'd rather have the weight of a thousand on my conscience than several hundred-thousand. Our time is through here. We had our chance.}
{242}{}{How can I free my people from the detention area?}
{243}{}{You should probably shut down the power. I know that the reactor is controlled by a large computer near the reactor bay but I don't know exactly what you'd need to do to shut the reactor down.}
{244}{}{Thanks for the information you've given me. Your sacrifice will be remembered by all the peoples of the earth.}
{245}{}{About time for you to come to your senses you old coot. Now get moving.}
{259}{}{Don't you understand? Without it you'll be dead in a matter of hours.}
{260}{}{Oh, well, if that's the case. Stick away, doc. What happens when the F.E.V. toxin is released?}
{261}{}{No needles, no way, no how. I'll take my chances.}
{262}{}{You'll never make it to free your people unless you're inoculated. What's the matter? Afraid of a little prick?}
{263}{}{No, I guess not. As long as I don't watch you do it. Youch! So, what happens when you release the F.E.V. toxin?}

{103}{prs1a}{You there, what are you doing outside of the reconditioning center?}
{109}{prs2a}{Ah, affected by the test serums, I see. Um, I'll get you some help. Guards!}
{110}{prs2b}{Doctor, I think you've been exposed to the F.E.V. Poor soul, I'll get you some help. Guards!}
{111}{prs2c}{Be a good mutant and stay put. Guards!}
{123}{prs5a}{Hello, doctor. Do you have a report? Good news, I hope. Our salvation is in your team's hands.}
{124}{prs5b}{You there, shouldn't you be working on the Project? Mankind's salvation depends on you.}
{128}{prs6}{Oh, that's quite all right. All those inoculation shots would disorient anyone.}
{129}{}{Inoculation shots? What do you mean?}
{130}{}{I guess I do feel a bit groggy. But knowing that I'm helping my country makes it all seem worthwhile.}
{145}{prs11a_a}{For your information, the guards have orders to shoot me rather than let anyone or anything endanger the Project. I... wouldn't be of any use as a hostage.}
{146}{prs11b}{You don't really expect that to work do you? Ha! If you try it, my guards have orders to shoot me rather than let anything, or anyone, endanger the Project. I'm staying right here. Now, are you going to shoot me or not?}
{148}{}{The Project? What Project?}
{192}{prs23}{That's a shame. A conversation with a genuine mutant like you? It'd certainly paint me a picture of what life's like in that radioactive hell on the mainland.}
{193}{}{Mutant? Why are you calling me a mutant?}
{194}{}{Radioactive hell? You don't get out much, do you?}
{201}{prs27}{He's one of the bravest men I know. He volunteered to try one of the early versions of the F.E.V. toxin antidote. (sigh) Unfortunately, it didn't quite work out the way we'd hoped.}
{202}{}{You mean that wasn't what you'd hoped for?}
{203}{prs28}{It's tiny mocking minds like yours that prove the superiority of real humans over mutants.}
{204}{}{He's still a gibbering idiot.}
{205}{}{Why are you calling me a mutant?}
{206}{prs29}{He may yet come around. In fact, there may even be some unforeseen benefits. His spelling ability has actually improved.}
{207}{}{I'm happy for you. But why did you call me a mutant?}
{208}{prs30}{Because you are. Your tribe's DNA has changed since your ancestor left the vault. Unavoidable. All that background radiation you've been exposed to.}
{209}{}{OK, so I'm a mutant. Guess what smart guy, you're about to become a dead pure-strain human.}
{210}{}{So we're mutants. So what.}
{211}{}{Creatures change all the time. It's called evolution. Without that change you and I would still be two bits of protoplasmic goo.}
{212}{prs31}{We try to keep ourselves safe and secure from radiation. That's what separates humans - like me - from mutants like you.}
{213}{}{Why do you keep calling me a mutant?}
{222}{prs35}{We had a number of sanctuaries that would enable the glorious American civilization to endure. These facilities - the vaults - were part of the great plan.}
{223}{}{Those damn vaults didn't work the way they were supposed to. A lot of people in them died.}
{224}{prs36}{Actually, they worked almost exactly the way they were supposed to. You might call it a social experiment on a grand scale. }
{225}{}{An experiment?}
{226}{prs36a}{The vaults were set up to test humanity. Some had not enough food synthesizers, others had only men in them, yet others were designed to open after only 6 months. They each had a unique set of circumstances designed to test the occupants.}
{227}{}{What about Vault 13? What was it's purpose?}
{228}{prs37}{Ahh. Vault 13 was a special case. It was supposed to remain closed until the subjects were needed. Vault 13 was, in scientific parlance, a control group.}
{229}{}{But they would all have died if my ancestor didn't get them a replacement water chip. That doesn't seem to fit in with your plan.}
{230}{prs38}{An unfortunate, and unforeseen, accident. However, as it turns out, a rather fortuitous one.}
{231}{}{What do you mean?}
{232}{prs39}{As it turns out we needed test subjects from untainted, pre-war, human stock - your ancestors in Vault 13 - and some freshly mutated stock - the villagers from Arroyo.}
{233}{}{Why?}
{234}{prs39a}{For the Project. It's almost ready. Humanity's salvation is almost at hand and the United States of America will be the progenitor of that rebirth.}
{235}{}{Rebirth? What do you mean?}
{236}{prs40a}{The only way for true humans, and democracy, to be safe is to cleanse the mutants from the globe. We humans will take back that which is rightfully ours.}
{237}{prs40b}{The Project will cleanse all the mutants from our fair land - and the rest of the globe. Once again, America will be the world's policeman.}
{238}{}{I'm a true human, too.}
{239}{}{Cleanse the mutants? That sounds a bit drastic. How are you going to do that?}
{240}{prs41}{We found a research facility in operational shape about 70 years ago. A former military base that had been used to research a special virus.}
{241}{}{A virus?}
{242}{prs42}{Yes, the F.E.V. virus. It was originally developed to turn soldiers into super-warriors but it failed. The warriors were tough and strong, but far too stupid. However, our brilliant Chemical Corps altered it.}
{243}{}{Altered the virus? Why?}
{244}{prs43}{To turn it into a staggeringly effective killer. Any humanoid that isn't inoculated against its effects before its release, will die. That is the Project.}
{245}{}{That's insane.}
{246}{prs43a}{No, no. That's humanity's last, best, hope. That's what we've been working towards all these years.}
{247}{}{Great, so you have all this poison and no way to spread it around.}
{248}{prs44}{We've run short of certain critical chemicals. We can get them from the drug labs of New Reno. If the mutant-mobsters use our guns to kill each other, just saves us the trouble.}
{252}{prs46a}{I'm sure you think so. But tests performed on your tribesmen have all shown that you are guilty of mutation. It's a damn good thing the Project is ready.}
{253}{}{Why?}
{254}{prs46b}{Some of the members of your tribe are showing some extremely interesting changes. If the danger to true humanity weren't so great I would think about studying them. But that's not to be.}
{255}{}{Not to be? Why not?}
{256}{prs47}{Oh, but that's one of the advantages of the F.E.V. virus. We can release it right here and the jetstream will carry it worldwide. It'll have plenty of time to cleanse every nook and cranny of the globe.}
{257}{}{OK. Then why did you have to kidnap my villagers and the people from Vault 13?}
{258}{prs48}{Test subjects. Your villagers are all descended from vault stock and we had to make sure that the F.E.V. toxin was still effective. The subjects from Vault 13 test that and an inoculation against the FEV.}
{259}{}{You're not testing the inoculation on my people?}
{260}{prs48a}{It's hardly necessary. I'm sure we could and it would work, but there's no reason to do so.}
{261}{}{Did it ever occur to you that what you're doing is wrong?}
{262}{prs49}{Never. Part of the president's job is to make the tough decisions. A lot of near-humans will sacrifice their lives for the return of humanity. Humans will prevail.}
{263}{}{There's no way in hell that I can let you do this.}
{264}{}{Just because everyone out there doesn't have an exact copy of your DNA that doesn't give you a license to exterminate them.}
{265}{prs50}{You can't stop it. The tests are complete and the toxin is ready for release. In hours, your villagers will be the first to make the ultimate sacrifice. The other mutants will follow. An unfortunate footnote in the continuing history of the human race.}
{266}{}{Why don't we start that footnote off with your epitaph, Mr. President?}
{267}{prs51}{Oh, I don't relish this decision. If there was another way- but there isn't. No price is too high for the survival of the human race. If you were human, you'd feel the same way.}
{268}{}{You really believe that, don't you?}
{269}{prs53}{Yes, I do. Even killing me won't help you. There's nothing you can do to stop the release.}
{270}{}{Maybe I'll just figure out a way to give you a taste of your own medicine.}
{273}{prs54}{You could try, I suppose, but soon the staff of the Enclave and Navarro will be inoculated.}
{274}{}{They aren't already?}
{275}{prs55}{We just have to distribute the supplies. A matter of hours. Besides, the Enclave is a sealed unit. No air or contaminants get in or get out.}
{276}{}{We'll see. In the meantime, I'm taking you out of the picture, personally.}
{277}{prs56}{You might find that tougher than you think. If you do, I'll go to my reward knowing that I died a patriot and a servant of humanity.}
{280}{prs57}{Very moving. But the radical changes your villagers and other mutants show is a far cry from the gradual changes of natural evolution. }
{281}{}{Maybe we're changing into a better version of the human race. Did you ever think of that?}
{282}{prs58}{Very possible, indeed. In which case, our mission is even more vital to the survival of the human race. }
{283}{}{Huh? What do you mean by that?}
{284}{prs59}{That's the spirit. God bless America. You should probably get back to your isolation ward now, though.}
{287}{prs60}{Why, against the F.E.V. toxin, of course. Damn brave sacrifice you and the other members of Vault 13 are making. On behalf of the United States government, and all humanity, I thank you. Now, we better get you back to your ward.}
{288}{}{F.E.V. toxin? What the hell are you talking about? What's going on here?}
{291}{prs61}{So what? If your kind is allowed to flourish it'll mean the end of the human race as we know it. We can't allow radioactive freaks to squeeze humans into extinction.}
{292}{}{I think you're overestimating things a bit.}
{293}{prs62}{Not at all. Look to the future. Sure muties and men could get along for a while, but before you know it, the numeric pressure of your kind would tell. No, a line must be drawn in the sand - the buck stops here.}
{294}{}{What do you intend to do about this so called threat?}
{295}{}{I don't have time to listen to your bigoted, mad ravings. Goodbye.}
{296}{prs63}{The government of the United States of America has been working towards a solution for quite some time.}
{297}{}{How so? What are you doing here?}
{298}{prs64}{I assure you, I'm quite sane, as is everyone on the Project. We're dedicated to the salvation of the human race. You can call single-minded dedication to a cause madness, I suppose, but if so, it's divine madness.}
{299}{}{What are you talking about? What are you doing here?}
{300}{}{How about my single-minded dedication to killing you right now?}
{301}{}{You're mad. I don't have time for your lunacy right now. Goodbye.}
{302}{prs65}{I don't think this tired old planet's big enough for two top dogs. If it's us or you.... Well, I'm going to choose us.}
{303}{}{I don't think you get to make that kind of choice.}
{304}{prs66}{As the embodiment of the executive branch, I bear the burden of ensuring the survival and prosperity of the United States and of humanity itself. A heavy burden and yet if it means the return of the earth to our children and to their children, I bear it gladly.}
{305}{}{How do you intend to do that? What are you doing here?}
{306}{}{Let me remove your burden. Permanently.}
{307}{}{It must be nice in your dimension. See you later, Mr. Nutcake.}

{111}{}{The Chosen One? Of course, that makes sense. Interesting... I'm afraid I can't help you. I was assigned to cyber-genetics research, not the Vault Behavioral Project.}
{119}{}{What's this about cyber-genetics?}
{121}{}{Oh, it's a whole new field - very exciting. Why I'm working on some projects right now - a radical new concept for the mutant problem. You see, it's really quite simple - mutancy isn't absolute. It can be cured.}
{122}{}{Of course, my simple-minded colleagues were just trying to solve the whole problem the crudest way possible. Purification, indeed. I'll admit there were some early problems, but I've got them worked out now...I think.}
{125}{}{In fact, you could help me perform the field testing. Interested?}
{126}{}{Field testing? What do you mean?}
{128}{}{I've prepared a small sample of the serum but it needs to be injected into a host.}
{129}{}{I'm not letting you stick any needles in me!}
{131}{}{You? Oh, no - the serum's not refined enough to handle such a low mutagenic quotient. It must be used on a super-mutant. Inject the serum into a super-mutant and then come back and report the results. I understand Broken Hills is full of them.}
{132}{}{What's it do?}
{134}{}{Well, it should cause a regression in the genetic matrix that results in the destabilization and assimilation of abberant DNA, leaving the host free of mutagenic potential. If I knew for sure, I wouldn't need you to test it.}
{135}{}{What's in it for me?}
{136}{}{You'll be participating in an important experiment, in fact, the most important, scientific-oh, you mean money. Well, I do have a Cyber-Hound Mk. II, Personal Security Model, that I brought with me. I suppose I could have it activated and on-line by the time you got back. Would that do?}
{148}{}{It killed him! You said it would cure mutants!}
{150}{}{You misunderstood. I said it would remove their mutagenic potential. The process does seem violent on the system, though. Oh well, more refining to do.}
{157}{}{...so the mutation rate stablizes over-don't bother me now.}

"This is the headquarters of the Master, the mutant human-computer hybrid who plans to turn all pure-strain humans into an army of super-mutants, with which he intends to conquer the world. He once was human but was transformed into what he is now through exposure to the FEV virus."

  • "A conversation between the Lieutenant and Van Hagan reveals that the Master knows about Vault 13 and will soon take steps to capture the pure-strain humans there."

Fallout Official Survival Guide p.212-213: "Military Base/The Vats"
"Description: A former military facility now taken over by the super-mutants and used for their purposes. The upper two levels are known as the " Military Base," while its lowest two levels comprise a former secret research facility now known as "the Vats.""
"From this base, the super-mutants launch their raids against passing caravans. The "untainted," meaning pure humans, are captured, while all others are killed. The pure humans are kept in cells until they are dragged to the Vats for their metamorphosis into mutants. The super-mutant base is a serious danger to all surrounding communities, as well as the caravans. The player will have to destroy this base to eliminate the threat."
Fallout 2 Official Strategies & Secrets p.36: Strangers
"Some characters were once human, but have been changed into something else in the years since the bombs scorched the land. Both Ghouls and Super-Mutants were changed by man—one accidentally, one intentionally."
Ghouls
"Ghouls were once humans, but they were caught outside of a protective Vault when the bombs dropped. The same radiation that turned their flesh into parched leather has given them an incredibly long life span. Those closest to the blast zones are still so radioactive that they continue to glow. These Glowing Ones, as they're called, have had some of their intellect burned away as well. Shunned by the people of the Wastes, most Ghouls have little to live for."
Fallout 2 Official Strategies & Secrets p.37: Super-Mutants
"The Master created Super-Mutants after the bombs fell by using a specially designated virus (the F.E.V. virus) to turn pure-strain humans into powerful warriors. The Super-Mutants thus created were to become the Master's own personal army of shock troops. However the virus didn't work as anticipated. The humans turned into powerful brutes, but as their muscles grew, their minds shriveled. The more intelligent Mutants were given uniforms as a mark of rank and authority, but they were few in number. Now, 80 years after the Master's defeat, fewer still Super-Mutants remain alive. Most humans fear Super-Mutants—few places offer them peace."
"The day of the Master's Mutant army is now passed, but some people say that the experiments continue. The worst horrors are always created in the name of science and progress."
"However, whatever the source, help and companionship should not be scorned. Companions can make the burdens you must face much more bearable and obstacles much easier to overcome."

FO2 Enclave seal.jpg

The first mention of “enclave” mentioned in FO2 is through Metzger's dialogue: "{485}{}{The Enclave and New' hey. What the hell you care for? It's business. I need to be sure no one's trying to fuck me over. That's all you need to know.}"

Maxson Bunker

In the year 2067, Senator Todd Peterson decided to build a secret bunker to house himself and his family should war break out. Senator Peterson was a wealthy man in his own right, but lacked the funds necessary for such a project. Through secret dealings with Poseidon Oil and a covert branch of the government known as the Enclave, the final funding for the project was attained. A construction site was chosen in southern Colorado and work began.

Character layout project[edit | edit source]

Note: Critical chance and name needs a check for every character.
Note: Change all pages to "Action points".
Note: All companion characters for FO2 have a base proto number and several "Stage"s. For example: John Cassidy's base statistics are under proto number 89. However he has 4 "Stages" (proto numbers: 338, 339, 340, 341) each different "stage" has unique statistics. All the various statistics must be added!
